  1. I'm pretty sure that's just an un-updated section of the app from the post-Covid re-start, at which time they were requiring reservations for the WJ.
  2. In theory, but on my recent Anthem cruise they didn't even though it was listed. Our server said the bar menu needed updating. I don't know if this is permanent or just a temporary supply issue.
  3. And very nice it sounds too! And, of course, I will be joining you virtually! I have not been on Symphony yet. Need to rectify that as soon as I can!
  4. Come and join us on Anthem's 23rd of April sailing. It's 8 nights with a "bonus" stop in Miami and the prices are ridiculously low.
  5. I've always felt there was a market for 3 + 4 night cruises around the Canaries in winter with the occasional longer one taking in Funchal and/or Cape Verde, in similar fashion to the itineraries Navigator does out of LA.
  6. There are so many dessert choices in the WJ on the Oasis class ships. And I seem to remember Adventure having tons too. On Anthem and Odyssey the desserts were relegated into two little corner sections with a paltry number of choices. As a dessert lover I was disappointed on those two ships.
  7. Glad to see you're back. I have to admit I was getting a bit concerned too. The laundry hypothesis was fine for one day but the hours were beginning to add up! 🙃
  8. We got them once, purely by chance, as we didn't even know this was a thing. It was latish in the lunch hour, some time after 2 pm.
  9. Yup, that's me in a nutshell, except it's not free, it's included so I have actually paid for it. And it's exacerbated by the fact that, having reached D, I don't even have to pay for my drink at dinner or the one photo I take home with me. However, they COULD tempt me to spend on board if they would set the speciality dining prices at a more sensible level and changed out some of their high-end retail for more realistically priced stores or added some of the latter. I never set foot in Regalia or Bulgari and I reckon a lot of the demographic targeted by Icon probably won't either.
  10. Isn’t today turnaround day? Hopefully he's just popped home to do some laundry or something.
  11. Leaving the fur babies behind is always the hardest part. 😩 Have an amazing time!
  12. Haha, this is exactly the same spot that we would stand and watch a few minutes of his show as we made our way to bed in the evening. We saw him use quite a lot of his props on one evening as someone present was having a birthday and he brought her up to the piano and involved her in his show, using his props as he went along. If we had realised sooner what a great entertainer he is, we would have made a point of seeing more of him especially on the nights when there was nothing that appealed in the main theatre. If you don't mind the aside, and because it may be of use/interest to other readers, our cabin (6560) was on the next floor up from the Schooner Bar and right by the stairs. Although we could hear the entire performance from outside the cabin, you couldn't hear it at all from inside once the door was closed, so excellent soundproofing.
  13. I am insanely jealous in the nicest possible way. I will be looking forward to joining you virtually. 😊
  14. I would like to as well but want to do it properly so unless I win the lottery and can quit working early it's not happening 😕😂 I have not driven on the left since moving to Portugal waaay back in 1986! Not sure I'd know how any more! 😱
  15. Ooooh, are you really going to Australia???? I want to do that for retirement but still got a few years to wait (and save up $$$)!
  16. I agree with you. We paid more for Oasis in 2012 and Harmony in 2016. If you're booking bells and whistles you have to pay for them!
  17. What a shame you didn't win the freebie on Icon. I'm following a couple of blogs from different ships at the moment but so far nobody has owned up to winning!
  18. I think it looks a great. I actually bought an open booking at Next Cruise on Anthem just the other week so I reckon I will be converting it to a sailing on Icon in the very near future!
  19. What a shame you didn't win Benny. That would have been a mega live review to look forward to! I have an open booking that I bought on our recent Anthem cruise purely for the sake of locking in the low deposit in case something came along that caught my eye. I suspect it's not going to be open for very long...
  20. We caught a little bit of a couple of his performances in the Schooner bar on our recent Anthem cruise and thought he was very entertaining. He also did an afternoon show in the main theatre on the last sea day. I would have gone to see it but it clashed with the one and only time on our 12-night cruise that we managed to get comfy, front-row loungers in the solarium!
  21. Would you say the "Surfside Family View Balcony and Interiors" are more or less the equivalent of boardwalk rooms on Oasis class?
  22. I think you could be right. If you look at decks 7 and 6, you can see what looks like the continuation and end of it (brown squiggly thingy ).
