We just did the canal on Emerald this April and had a lovely time, don't worry. Yes, the showers are tiny (though maybe bigger in mini-suites?). But service and food were generally very good and we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly.

You can get soft serve (no topping) for free if they won't give you a scoop and a topping.
-
You watch the video on your phone or your cabin TV, then check in at your muster station. Easy peasy.
-
They do, but you can fix it by covering the sensor (it's a little clear plastic bubble on the side of the light) with electrical tape or wet some toilet paper to make a paper mache cover for it. For the bedside table lights, the sensors are on cords and you can flip them so they face the table instead of the room, which stops them from working.

There are also laundromats on board if you want to do your own laundry. A wash and dry is about $7 if I remember correctly.

I realized later that you don't need to forget the home wifi, just disconnect from it, on the person who will be "receiving" the wifi from the other person. Then try to connect to whatever the sender has named their hotspot. Just make sure your cellular data is off.

You can test it at home. Have one of you forget your home wifi, then put their phone on airplane mode (but turn wifi back on). The other one then goes into airplane mode with wifi on, and turns on their hotspot. If the person who forgot their home wifi can connect, it will work on board too. If you don't want the hassle of forgetting your home wifi, go to a coffee shop and just have one of you connect to the wifi, then turn off cellular data on both and try the hotspot.

What if you put that cabin on option and then email the confirmation document to your agent as proof?
-
Some Android phones have this capability. My husband and I have Google Pixel phones and they both can do it. My friends have Samsungs and they couldn't (they had a Bluetooth sharing thing but they couldn't get it to work). Apparently no iPhones can do it.

Then your TA needs to do some work and look at all the lists and find cabins that will work.
-
Your travel agent may not know what they're doing then, or else the cruise you're looking at has very limited rooms available. In the travel agent site there is a button to see all available cabins in the chosen category.
-
Maybe the price you see online doesn't include the taxes but your TA's does? Or is it a refundable vs non-refundable deposit situation maybe?

This is not the case in all of Canada. I live in Ontario, and here you can smoke in public places outdoors. "Many outdoor public places (for example, sidewalks and parks)" http://www.ontario.ca/page/cannabis-laws#:~:text=Many outdoor public places (for example%2C sidewalks and parks) OP would need to check on the laws for whatever province they will be visiting.

Have my parents been scammed by Princess Promotions?
Spudd replied to PastryPal's topic in Princess Cruises
Yes. -
They do fly you back to Buenos Aires, and leave you in the airport. The balconies in B1 and B2 categories are sit out balconies. The A1 and A2 have a window that lowers to turn part of your cabin into a balcony. Both have their pros and cons. The food is pretty fancy but there was a basic steak on the menu every night (until it ran out, which it did toward the end of the voyage). The breakfast and lunch are buffet style so you can have what you like.

My understanding is that you can buy the insurance up until final payment. You can cancel for any reason but what you get is future cruise credits, not your money back.

Impact of death of spouse before upcoming cruise
Spudd replied to jimb cruisin's topic in Celebrity Cruises
I downloaded a copy of the Cruise Care details and it says this: Cancellation Penalty Waiver refunds are also provided if you are charged a change in occupancy/single supplement charge as a result of your traveling companion’s cancellation due to one of the reasons cited above. Please advise your travel agent, Celebrity Cruises or the Program Administrator as soon as possible in the event of cancellation. Refunds will not be provided for additional charges incurred that would not have been charged had you notified these parties as soon as reasonably possible. So I think you just need to notify Celebrity and you will be covered by the insurance. -

Do you know if the menus on the 2nd leg are the same as they were on the first leg? -
Onboard charges to a USD credit card from a Canadian bank
Spudd replied to drakes2's topic in Celebrity Cruises
They charge you in USD on board, so it wouldn't undergo any conversion. -
English. All announcements are in English and all meetings and presentations are conducted in English. Some of the waiters on our cruise lacked fluency but all spoke English.

I feel like the standard balcony is the way to go. That's what we had. We could pop out onto the balcony when there was something to see. With the horizon balcony, if you want to take a photo you need to open the window, which will then cool down your whole room.

Just returned from Icon. Lower back pain gone!

It's a lot of time commitment but I swear by the book "Pain Free" by Egoscue. -
You should go to your cabin unless you feel like the ship is actively sinking. You need warm clothes, any essential meds, and your lifejacket.
