  1. If you hold imo the likely hood of a profit is real with CCL .But ,with this uncertainty if where fuel prices will end up & ,the possibility of a recession which definitely impact new bookings is like tossing the coin in the air & making the cirrect call before it hits the ground
  2. We agree 1000% . We moved over a while back to investment is precious metals for most of our investing capotal . It is not that CCL or RCCL is going out of business but in this economic environment it is better to be safe than sorry . Oil is another good investment for these times
  3. imo the bottem line is if you want small ship environment in the future then you will be sailing on the higher end lines like Seaborn .Most people will cintinue to sail on the larger & mega sized ships of the future ,Even CCL for their Carnival band has ordered new larger ships We can understand the desire for smaller ships . Those which can get into the smaller ports of call & stay for 2 or 3 days with far less people . But ,you will have to pay a lot more money for that style of cruising .
  4. Yes people should choose what type of cabin & ship fits their wants & needs ;but ,to think HAL under Carnival Corp ownership will have small ships in the future is dreaming . Princess just launched Sun Princess ,a new class of liquid Natural Gas .The Ship is about 177.000 tons .The older & less efficient ships are headed to the scrap yards as they phase them out .This is the future of mass market cruising at a decent price competing well with land vacations . Look at the record of Icon of the Seas .since that monster ship of 250,000 gross tons jas been sailing ,it is full at the highest prices ever . That ship can carry over 8000 guests
  5. We never have heard any noise coming from other staterooms & we sail only on Koningsdam because we live here in San Diego , We have dine multiple voyages on Kdam & the dining room did not seem any noisier than any other ships .in fact we had on average great service in the MDR . Just once we saw a problem is when over the Chistmas holiday & understaffed with 500 kids on board when HAL had a sale kids sail free . BTW that can happen to any of HAL's ships that HAL euns the kids sail free sale In the future HAL will not have small ships as long a CCL own them . The move in the cruise business is big is better . Only the high end cruise lines will have the smaller ships like Seaboen , Viking ie
  6. Today April 12th CCL stock has been dropping rather quickly . Some professionals cin the stock market are saying a recession could happen & cruise line stocks would be negatively impacted for new bookings .Certainly fuel prices have soared adding to the woes of inflation & cost of energy for all cruise lines . The cruise line business is sensitive against land vacations & has won every time on a cost to cost basis ; but ,if there is a recession all bets are off imo when it comes to owning CCL stock . just keeping the 100 shares for the OBC
  7. Since the prices have increased so much HAL could afford better music entertainment imo
  8. As far as we are concerned the Rolling Rock is so loud & it is not music we appreciate . Further it at times it is so loud you can hear it at the BBKing Lounge .Certainly it impacts Billboard onBoard pianos music . imo ,it be far better to replace Rolling Rock with Classical & some sane music from the past .The Classical music could be played during the day & contemporary music ay night not those loud abusive tones
  9. One thing that HAL could do as it was very popular in days gone by are the Hirse Racing , People actually win a oprize for the best costumed wooden horse . They did these races on the main stage & got good attendances
  10. Just love the fact that HAL listened & is bringing back stage shows .
  11. We are not saying the ship would not perform ;however ,it is a older less amenity vessel by shear size alone . Additionally .holland is still a mass market ,Carnival brand company . most likely if CCL coup adds ships to Holland ,at some timje in the future ,they will not be the size of volendam cor Zaandam . These smaller vessels simply cost too much to operate in this crusing . Should some small brand buy one or both of these ships ,possibly yes . While I can empathize with folks that go back decades & into smaller ships with Holland it is now nostalgia . I also like to think of what I once could buy for my $1.00 in the 1950s but that is gone forever . Seaborn has those smaller ships & much higher prices . So yes a person can stay in smaller ships but the cost of cruising will be much higher
  12. What type of entertainment is appearing on the World Theatre stage ? TIA
  13. imo not 5 years for the stock to be in the 20s .Could even happen by 2025 as CCL mangement is now working on exceeding bookings for 2025
  14. as a 2nd thought cruise ships although foreign flagged vessels when in USA ports come under USA laws & most begining ports are USA based for the big 3 cruise lines .Thus ,then they do come under ADA US laws to be able to port their ships at USA ports . True disabilities for people need to be met with support . Thus ,if the dog is a disability trained dog ,it should be with that passenger ;however ,there should also be guidelines what are the disabilities that require a trained dog . Personally in over 100 ocean cruises we have not seen one support animal on any of our cruises . Thus ,we conclude it is very rare to see any service dog
  15. Like you just posted the cruise ships do not come under USA ADA laws since they are all foreign flag vessels . Look ,I want to be fair & above board for any one who is real need . what does covern me & perhaps other people is that animal /dog truly necessary ?
  16. that was not my point . My point is can any one just say that they must have their servive dog & be under the law . It is a funny thing that when I book a handicap cabin ,the cruise line wants to know what I am bringing with me like my electric scooter or my wife's walker .So isn't it reasonable for the cruise line to ask a person why do you need a service dog ? This is not a discussion of law ot not law it is a discussion for you need a handicap cabin or not & do you really need a service dog or not . To get a handicap license plate of mirror handicap placard you must have a doctors letter to DMV . Thus ,all I am saying to you is that the person show need from a MD in writing
  17. Personally when we need a veranda on this size ship ,we must buy into a suite where as on the larger ships we can just buy a veranda & not a suite . Additionally , the older ships do not have all the bells & whistles og the newer larger built ships . Both Volendam & Zaandam were buily in 1999 , That makes them 25 years in service ,Ships max out at 30 years ,JMVHO
  18. This whole issue is crazy . The real question is why is a service dog required by a passenger ? First is the why & then 2nd is it really necessary for the animal to ne with that person .Perhaps a medical doctor must approve that the person must have the animal with them before it is allowed on a cruise ship aside from the ADA guidelines
  19. Yup but ,then you will pay double or more per share . now is the time to accumulate shares not when CCL turns a positive ROI .That is one of the ways to make money in stocks
  20. HAL must clarify what is or is not a service dog on any of their ships .Additionally , HAL needs to limit where the service dogs are allowed on their ships.JMVHO
  21. yes Holland America dies this cruise & even one longer 52 days .It also has cruises from Valifornia to Australia & also circumnavibarion od Australia . New Zealand is also a target cruise
  22. Thanks Mary .We found this viseo & other of their videos quite interesting . Definitely worth watching their videos for future cruising
  23. We feel sorry for those that the NCL sho[ left behind ;however ,it is the resonsinility of each pax to be on board before the ship is scheduled to sail . We are sure this is covered in the contract that every passenger must sign
