  1. A few more thoughts. My belief is that Royal needs both types of passengers — those that travel in suites and those who sail many times a year. Both generate needed revenue. Royal needs to be careful not alienate either group. Diamond plus is taking a hit right now with no CL/SL access, no priority boarding/embarkation, no special area in DR for breakfast (no waiting in line!). These are just 3 things that I can think of off the top of my head that we enjoyed as D+ and are now gone. I do understand the need for change but just saying be careful, Royal. I know there is a lot of revenue generated by suites. But consider the amount of money spent by cruisers reaching the top C&A levels. As many like to say — “My Pinnacle pin is the most expensive piece of jewelry I own.” I don’t know the percentage of suite cruisers who return time and again but I am sure it is a lower percentage than the top C & A cruisers. My two cents!! Katherine
  2. I agree here about nightly service. Don’t spend a lot of time here tidying up the room but give me fresh towels, take away the dirty dishes, etc. I don’t leave wet towels lying around in my bath until the next day at home - I put them in the hamper. Dirty dishes go in the dishwasher. My standards of cleanliness shouldn’t go down because I am on a cruise.
  3. My opinion only - I understand the necessity of limiting folks in the lounges due to numbers. And I think limiting folks to the SL makes sense considering the amount of money paid by Suite guests. Pinnacles are also not allowed in the lounge when numbers are too high. The vouchers have been a great change and most people enjoy them. I agree with a previous poster who said it is curious that RC raises the daily gratuity rate and then suggests it may take away nightly service. Doesn’t make sense to me. Katherine
  4. I am always grateful to people like you who keep up entertained during their vacation. A giant thank you. And Owen is growing up to be one handsome gentleman! Katherine
  5. Love the separate breakfast and I don’t care which venue is used. Lovely not to have to “fight the crowds”. This is one of my favorite perks. Katherine
  6. Very interesting. I spent an extra 2 days in Port Canaveral on Grandeur a few years back. Trip was extended 2 days and the next trip (I was on a back to back) was shortened by two days. Ships are machines and machines break down or need maintenance on a regular basis. It’s disheartening when unexpected maintenance needs to occur but it’s a part of sailing life. On my voyage on Grandeur I was just glad that we could stay on the ship instead of having to fly home. Katherine
  7. Enjoy your trip and best wishes for your health and safety. I look forward to reading your posts. Thank you for taking the time to do this for all of us. And Happy New Year. Katherine
  8. Quiet celebration last night. Early dinner with family who then went home. DH went to bed and I continued to watch some of the celebrations on TV. After midnight I watched old you tube videos of What’s My Line and Johnny Carson. Some were hysterical! Happy New Year to all! Katherine
  9. I was thinking of booking thru the cruise planner to reserve a spot for day 1 or 2. Questioning if I then can switch to the BOGO once onboard. If Wonderland is not BOGO available it is a moot point. Anyone use the BOGO for Wonderland?
  10. Interesting. My sister booked a solo guarantee for a trip in February yesterday.
  11. Sorry, I misunderstood. I thought the OP was saying a change in extra points for solos based on the cabin booked. Wasn’t even taking into account a no show — though I have been the beneficiary of the extra point when my DH was a no show because of illness. Thanks for your responses.
  12. We would like the buy 1 get 1 benefit for the Anthem in March. Can I book a restaurant, say Wonderland, online, pay for it, and then convert to the but 1 get 1 benefit once onboard? Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks for any help. Katherine
  13. Can anyone else verify this statement about solo points. I believe the Crown and Anchor chart online has not changed.
  14. Question about Masters Level. My sister has that status and just booked her first cruise since pre-pandemic. Are the benefits the same? Still access to Coastal Kitchen? Thanks for any information. Katherine
  15. Good morning all. Warming up to the 40’s today so I will probably take a walk to the post office. Nephews coming today to celebrate Christmas and my kids will show up today to greet them. Last of the presents will be opened. Booked a cruise yesterday for Enchantment of the Seas at the end of February. Still had a future cruise credit to use and found an available accessible cabin. Twin sister going to try to get a cabin today. I need to start booking earlier again now that Covid does not seem to be the issue it was. Preps for New Years Eve is just Olive Garden take out. Taking the easy route. Gave a great day, everyone. Katherine
  16. Same dinners for us — prime rib last night and ham today! 🎄
  17. Merry Christmas to all. Still very cold here but a bit more moderate — 17 instead of 2! Have to be quick—serving breakfast in a few and then preps for dinner. Safe travels for all not staying home today. Katherine
  18. Merry Christmas Eve to all and Happy Chanukah. Very cold here but very little snow. Thanks to all who post and double thanks to Rich and Roy. I would like to make my Church service this evening but with a temp of 5 I am not sure. I usually walk to church but not tonight. And parking lot is not very big. We shall see. Early dinner at 4 with a small number of family members. Larger group tomorrow. First time in about 50 years we are not opening presents on Christmas Eve due to various schedules. Prayers for all to stay safe and warm. Katherine
  19. Rich — I did not realize you are doing a world cruise — I must not have been paying attention! Enjoy! I will be following along. Katherine
  20. Back home again from shopping before 9 am. I am liking these very early morning trips - very few people out. Just food today and one gift card. Hopefully done except desserts. Having company 12/24, 12/25, and 12/29 so 3 dinners to prepare. And then there is New Years Eve! Prayers for our care list. Thanks Rich and Roy for all you do. Have a great day. Katherine
  21. Happy Hanukkah to all who celebrate. Prayers for all in need. Off to church in a bit. Then an afternoon of football and fajitas made by my nephew. Tomorrow, I hope, last shopping trip before the holiday. Watching the weather forecast for later in the week — could be trouble for some. Have a great day. Katherine
  22. I agree. Fewer kids on longer cruises too and very, very regular cruisers looking to enjoy some different ports. Katherine
  23. Good morning all! Another day of early morning shopping and think I am done! My twin and I are doing last minute planning for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day dinner — looks like prime rib and ham. Since my twin lives a 20 second walk from my house doing meals together is easy. Prayers to all in need. Have a blessed weekend. Katherine
