  1. Indeed there is, but you can’t see over the bow from there - which post #40 had alluded to.
  2. Absolutely identical in my experience. It’s possible that we only require the same service on both lines but I’d say they provide exactly the same functions.
  3. Horizon lounge is foreward on Oceania ships, it’s tgevObservation lounge on Regent, surely?
  4. Sorry, my mistake, it was DaisyUK who referred to 984.
  5. I think 784 is GS - hoping so, we are booked in it in 2025. Suspect the earlier post from Gpilon was just a typo.
  6. Don’t know about the US situation but in the UK it’s very straightforward. I’ve handled our last 2 cruises directly and have 2 more in the pipeline. We used a TA for the first few but it’s more practical, if you have sufficient time, to do it yourself. It saves trying to do everything through a 3rd party, if you want something doing you just ask and get it sorted rather than passing it to an agent and hoping they get it done for you. So many aspects of the booking you can control via “My Account” anyway, of course. We’ve varied pre and post cruise details, flights etc - all painless and simple. I presume it would work the same way in the USA but I guess others will advise accordingly. Hope that helps. Never used Regent insurance so can’t offer any opinion on that.
  7. Well, that exercise appears to demonstrate that there is nothing scheduled, even a mini one, which is a slight concern. Hopefully, given some recent comments, any minor concerns with either public areas or individual suites will be addressed in transit where necessary. Thanks to drron29 & Lois R.
  8. Fair point - thanks.
  9. Just wondered……. anyone able to advise?
  10. Just wondering - is there a published schedule for Silversea refits/refurbs? We are looking at a 2026 cruise on Spirit, which was obviously ‘stretched” and refitted in 2018 but I don’t think any significant refurb has occurred since. Is it known if it’s due a refit before March 2026? Any assistance would be appreciated, thanks.
  11. Yes, I’m not sure why that makes any difference tbh. Other than that, it makes it even more sensible and practical to “get all your ducks in a row”, then advise customers that arrangements are now varied but here the range of options available to you. We were offered a 38 night cruise, including an itinerary which we wanted, which we paid a deposit for - now it is a 20 night cruise because the second segment is being amended but not, as yet, being made available to us. That’s the point, or points - lack of transparency, lack of clarity and a load of unanswered questions. Why cause ripples when you could minimise the uncertainty and avoid annoying your customers more than necessary?
  12. Having nit heard anything more for a week, I contacted Regent UK again today. Still no clarity or further explanation. Apparently, HO are still sorting out revised itineraries and prices etc. I pointed out that it would have been helpful if they’d actually done that prior to announcing they were curtailing our 38 night cruise down to 20. The website is still all over the place, with the supposed new 38 night cruise ending at sea. None of the Feb/Mar 2026 Voyager cruises are available to book at the moment. It is not a good look. Plus, just for the record, this isn’t about dropping ports, changing itineraries etc - that happens, this about removing an entire cruise, implementing a revised segment but not offering it as a replacement, stating that it is “due to the dry dock” and then failing to communicate professionally. The longer this saga continues, the greater the risk to the damage to Regent’s reputation really. We are Gold status, attained between 2015 - 2023, with another cruise booked on Splendor in 2025 so we are, very much, Regent fans and have enjoyed their hospitality up to date. I believe that we are entitled to be disgruntled by the current situation tbh.
  13. We asked for an additional lounger in an aft 7 seas suite on Mariner - and they brought us one. That is a considerably larger balcony, of course, but it had 2 chairs & a table and 1 lounge. I’d always ask, if the answer is ‘no”, at least you tried. There isn’t really room for 2 loungers the PH balconies on Explorer/Splendor/Grandeur - unless they get rid of the huge cushion box which takes up a load of space. They are still great balconies!
  14. Have a look at the “….Voyager after March 20..” thread. They have just taken a whole segment from our cruise - plus, varied the itinerary on the replacement (which they have not offered to us). How anyone can suggest that this is “standard practice”, or suggest it is unreasonable to challenge the implausible explanation provided by Regent, quite frankly defies credibility. Yet, it happened. I think some posters here do have rose tinted spectacles in respect of Regent - or they are either linked, in some way, to Regent or they are incapable of seeing through the flimsy party line that is peddled to customers. Regent’s PR is pretty dreadful at the moment in my view. Their actions may actually be justifiable but the lack of transparency and the limited responses provided are simply unacceptable.
  15. That sounds like a variation entirely due to the dry dock arrangements. It’s a reasonable change, the sort that happens occasionally - as others have referred to. i’d be fairly happy with that situation but I’d enquire about a more generous offer. In our position, where they’ve simply removed 18 days, an entire segment, from our cruise - but the ship is still making a similar journey, I’m still baffled as to why we haven’t been offered the additional 3 nights as opposed to being told, “your cruise is now 20 days!
  16. That 38 night cruise is interesting. It ends at sea! If you follow this thread you’ll note that several people have commented on the farcical situation of variations and changes almost by the hour on the website, the entire loss of cruises on “my account” (ours has also gone altogether too) and a total lack of clarity about the whole matter, including a half baked, inadequate explanation from Regent that is, clearly, false.
  17. Precisely! That is why the subsequent variations can’t possibly be related to the dry dock period. The explanation provided by Regent is not logical. The itinerary has been slightly varied for 2 later segments of the GV. Consequently, the relatively few guests booked have been inconvenienced for another reason. The e.mail we received is either incomplete or simply inaccurate. The UK office are seeking clarification - they appear to have the same, limited information that customers have received. It is, at best, a poorly communicated and badly thought out piece of communication. At worst it is just a case of upsetting a limited number of people in order to generate greater revenue. If I’m offered the additional 3 nights at no extra cost, I’ll be pleasantly surprised but it won’t change my thoughts re: the overall strategy.
  18. Agreed - a fair offer would be to honour the 2 segments at no extra cost. It’s a variation of Regent’s choice, not ours.
  19. That would be my suggestion too tbh. I think they would maybe like us to pay extra for the revised, longer, segment - but that isn’t feasible for us really.
  20. Thus was part of a 64 night Grand Voyage, which had 4 segments. They have amended the Dubai to Athens segment and then Athens to Rome final segment. There is actually no longer an 18 night element that we had booked, it is now 21 nights with the looks of things. The final 10 night segment is reduced to 7, so it’s still a full 64 night voyage but if you are only on the middle segments, or just the 3rd one then you are affected. It is crazy excuse to blame it on the dry dock and offering a 50% reduction on a cruise you are not getting is a bit weird. I expect a 100% reduction on that and a significant reduction on the remaining element because that is not what we booked and not we wanted! Quite frankly, it brings Regent’s reputation into question and the PR implications are pretty grim. I’ve now had a further telephone conversation with the UK office. I am told that we are the only UK customers who were booked in the 38 night cruise but I’m aware of at least 2 other groups from N .America incl briar14, of course. That is what makes me believe that they want to re-package this and sell suites at a higher price. Unless they come up with something that is acceptable we will have lost that “once in a lifetime” cruise. It doesn’t look good to me.
  21. Just spoken to Regent UK. They are still going with the dry dock explanation, as that is all they’ve been told. After a lengthy conversation, during which I explained that the reason provided us implausible and I don’t accept it, they have agreed to investigate further with HO and keep me informed. I’ve rejected the 50% reduction completely and advised them that a deviation of this magnitude is a fundamental breach of trust and confidence. This is a pretty serious situation in my view and Regent are doing themselves no favours whatsoever.
  22. As posted on the roll call, this is very odd. The excuse that the changes are due to the dry dock in Nov/Dec 2025 is utter nonsense. How can that impact on a cruise 3 months later, which hasn’t been cancelled and is still going ahead as planned? We’ve also been told our 38 night cruise is now just the 20 day segment ending in Dubai yet, clearly, the ship is continuing on as scheduled - to Rome. To say we are not happy is an understatement of mammoth proportions. We could have booked the 20 night segment but didn’t want that alone, it was the extended stay on ship and itinerary that we booked for - including the Suez Canal, Petra & Ephesus. Without those elements, we aren’t being offered what we wanted or signed up for. This looks like a piece of chicanery to me - hoping some people cancel and then their suites can be re-sold at a higher price. Unless Regent can provide an alternative, plausible, reason they may well be losing more customers over this strategy.
  23. Ross is our favourite too - missed him on our last 2 Regent cruises having seen/heard him on the 3 previous trips. Maybe nit the greatest voice but very convivial with a huge personality and a very gifted, (broad range), pianist. Hope he’s still with Regent in 2025 - aboard Splendor, in March, preferably,
  24. I was going to say - just back from Japan and didn’t need any proof of vaccinations etc. They take your fingerprints on arrival but at every port their customs and immigration folk are courteous, helpful and friendly.
