  1. We will be on the Crown in 2 weeks. We chose it because it is a 10 say cruise out of Vancouver.
  2. Had both knees replaced last year. Getting up and down was a bit of a struggle for awhile. The people in the dining room were amazing. It was as if they to see if you were having a bit of trouble getting up at the end of your meal. They were there instantly to to assist. Also, in the buffet. I waddled more than walked & there was always someone to take my plate back to the table or me.
  3. We will be taking an Alaska cruise in a few weeks on the Crown. On these kind of cruises, I really like when there are coat hooks on the wall when you first enter the cabin. Our Alaska coats are heavy & sometimes you get in from port wet. I have watched several youtubes on these cabins but have not been able to tell. Anyone know ? thanks :O)
  4. It is like if you use an outside travel agent. Any changes would have to go through that agent
  5. We did a mexico cruise earlier this year out of San Pedro. Although weather did not seem to be to bad, the currants were awful & we arrived back about 1 1/2. hours late. The captain knew that ahead of time so the night before, he made an announcement saying that people that could push out their fights might try & do that. When we arrived, there was a problem with immigration. Their facial recognition & computers were down, so they actually had some kind of hookups to their phones which they used....it worked but another delay. It is always nice to figure things out to the minute....in a perfect world :O)
  6. We came down with covid a few days after we returned from a cruise in January. I would rather blame the airport & the flight home !
  7. I really like MSC but sad to hear their bidding process is so screwed up. I think most cruise lines are now doing bidding. On Princess, they usually tell you 30 days in advance AND give you your new cabin number then !
  8. Sailing next month. The schedules for everything are already loaded on my app. There is a place to "bookmark" things you want to do. It keeps track of the number of people so I assume that is really a reservation. We always want the early show...but do you really need to reserve ? thanks
  9. Loyalty programs on most cruise lines appear to be fading..... The perks for suite guests appear to be getting enhanced. I think that is where the future lies....
  10. My cruise is 1 month out & all the shows are already added on my app
  11. My cruise a month out & all the activities & shows are already loaded & taking reservations where needed.
  12. We were fortunate enough to get the 'F' plan when I retired. I do not think you can get that anymore.
  13. Warning about the Red Dog...Do not go if easily offended. It is all about the atmosphere :O) Their menu is online. Aside from burgers.. I quote from their Liquor section.. Cheap ***** $6.50 Regular ***** $ 7.50 Expensive ***** $8.50 Really expensive ***** $9.50. You can also order a Duck Fart....no kidding A unique place not to be missed Usually VERY crowded
  14. I agree. ALWAYS make a stop at the Red Dog It is in walking distance from the pier.
  15. from my bidding experience... they only offer you to bid on 3 cabin categories above you, so... an inside cabin might only get a chance to bid on an ocean view cabin, a mid ship ocean view, & an obstructed view balcony. The ocean view per might get...an obstructed view balcony, midship balcony, & mini suite. So they might have a chance to bid on a better balcony category. ALL DEPENDING ON WHAT IS AVAILABLE. Remember, you CANNOT see all that is available. That seems to be part of the game !
  16. We live right by San Francisco... Probably nice in Hawaii but the cruise there will probably be COLD. Pacific waters here are always cold.
  17. keep your bid....read my story 3 up from your original post
  18. Won our bid on the cruise we took 2 months ago, 33 days before we sailed. Got an email saying the bid was successful. Yesterday, we learned that our bid for our next cruise...33 days from now... was successful. No email saying so just a new sailing contract with the new cabin number. Once I book a cruise, I continue to look at the availability of different cabin categories. Just a habit. Wondering about how full the ship is. Sometimes changing location.of my cabin. About 2 weeks ago, there were 7 S4 penthouses available & over a dozen balconies. It had showed that for quite awhile. All of a sudden, the next day, they were all gone. Obviously, no one booked them all. Only inside & outside cabins have remained. I mentioned that to my husband. He said that there was probably a closing date where Princess turns them over to the 3rd party company that assigns the winning bids.....So, it looks like all those cabins were gone but they were not. Makes sense, since yesterday we got the S4 Penthouse I bid on a month ago. We bid in the minimum amount area.
  19. Thanks...will do. Just thought that was getting soooooo long :O)

  21. Never assume what is sold out. I currently have a Vista Suite. I bid on a Penthouse Suite. If I get it, my Vista Suite goes to someone who had a mini suite. Their mini suite probably goes to someone balcony…. For everyone that wins a bid, there cabin goes to someone else who bid.
  22. On our last Princess cruise we noticed several shops in the port area with the Princess logo on them. We did not go in BUT... it is our understanding that you can use your medallion in these shops to charge to your shipboard account. I hope this is so. We have a cruise next month with OBC. Being that we have the Princess Plus package, basically everything onboard is already covered. I do NOT need any overpriced things from their shops so hoping to be able to buy somethings in the ports.
  23. OMG...sorry I did not know when I started this thread ! Lucky there our those to enlighten us. Issue has been solved This thread should be closed out
