Yikes! This is like 1,000 per night! Any suggestions for under $500 per night?

We got an estimate for the following: the “ Taste of Athens & Corinth“ tour (9hours) is 380 euros (not per person), valid for the Mercedes Van vehicle with an English- speaking driver and for pick up/drop off at your hotel/accommodation in Athens city centre. Plus an extra 300 euros for a tour guide. There will be 5 of us and we think it’s very reasonable.

We won’t let ourselves run out of clean clothes. We will have some clothes cleaned on our first cruise and can hand wash some items as well. I don’t plan on packing real light either. I’m sure I will have one large suitcase and a carryon, as will dh.

Our cruise is nine nights, not 7, but we will be in Europe 3+ weeks before we even embark on our cruise, so yes we will need laundry done most likely as soon as we got on.

The Italians would much prefer cruise passengers sleep on land. That ensures we spend more money there, with hotel and food expensive just the most obvious.

We’re planning on going to Pompeii and then Amalfi so it will be a long time before we’d get a chance to get some food. We will have quite a bit of luggage but nothing we can’t roll ourselves. I would prefer the faster option if that wouldn’t be an issue, unless it would be easy to miss the second time.

I thought we were docking in Trieste both days and I was trying to avoid 4 hours traveling on the 11th followed by 2 hours the next to get to Venice both times. When we debark this cruise, we will head directly to the train station to take a train to Naples. It appears the train station is rather close, less than 2 miles and we could walk or take a taxi there. Would it be a safe guess that we would be headed to the train station by 8 AM? We normally self assist. Trying to coordinate train tickets with a private transport to Pompeii then to Amalfi where we’ll be staying for a few days.

Someone mentioned Joe Banana for transfer from Naples to Amalfi, with a stop at Pompeii. Looking at their website, they want a time to pick us up ant the train station. Our cruise itinerary says 6 AM docking time in Civitavecchia. A Google search shows it’s only about a mile and a half to the train station. Assuming we’re off the ship by 7:30-8 (we usually do self assist) what time do you think we could be on a train by? I’m not sure if we will walk or take a taxi. I see those run constantly. 9:13? 9:30? Is that too soon? Do we need to book ahead or day of?

We booked the Athens Gate Hotel and they sent us an email asking if we would like to book a transfer from the airport “from 48 euros”. Is this normal pricing or a markup?

We are trying to avoid economy on the way there, so no. We are also trying to use miles and we don’t have enough for round trip. I just tried and seeing higher prices than you.

We can’t do round trip, we’ll have to do multi-city. We will buy tickets before final payment for the cruise so we will know ahead of time. Currently, clt-Barcelona and Venice-Clt is crazy expensive.

We decided to go in mid June instead of mid July. However, we also have one at the beginning of July. We’ll expect the worse and hope for the best.

This may seem like a dumb question to you experienced flyers, but what do the miles circles at the top represent? They don’t seem to correlate with the miles to fly those days.
