  1. @jagsfan I like how you think! Nothing wrong with the idea of forever young! MJπŸ™‹πŸ»β€β™€οΈπŸ˜Š
  2. @CrzLvr2 Thank you for your kind thoughts. I just turned 70, but in heart and mind, I think I am 30! Would like to be able to keep mobility as good as possible.πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜‰ MJπŸ™‹πŸ»β€β™€οΈ
  3. @Ozark_Kid John I have been wanting to respond to your post about the results of your recent tests. I was having trouble with writing on CC on my iPad, but I am using my phone to write this, so I am thinking that a new iPad is in order. So, I apologize for this later response, I don’t mean to bring up your health challenges, but I wanted to express my understanding and support. Recently, I have gone to a Neurologist as I was diagnosed withSpinal Stenosis about 20 years ago and I think the issue is becoming worse. I have had an MRI and lab tests. The EMG has been scheduled as well as a follow up appt with the Dr. which will be in April. I can commiserate about the tests involved in a neurology exam and waiting patiently for test results. I understand that you will be having MRI(s). Perhaps the early diagnosis is not correct and the images of the MRI tests may give the doctors more information leading to another diagnosis. I read your recent post where you mentioned Psalms23:4 and your loving family. You are blessed with faith and love. With faith and love comes hope. I wish you good days with your wife, children and grands. Just looking at Kenzie’s smile and kind little face must give you a boost. Also know that prayers and good thoughts will follow you on your health journey. Take care- MJ πŸ™‹πŸ»β€β™€οΈ
  4. Thank you for the reply. I do hope that both you and Holly are feeling better. MJ
  5. @Sea Dog Here’s a thought. Since video uploading is going so slowly, you may want to wait until you are home to post the videos. I realize that you would like to keep those of us reading this thread up to date on the Bella cruise, but trying to post videos with the ship’s internet is taking up your time and patience. Posting photos will be fine for now. Enjoy the cruise and your vacation. MJπŸ™‹πŸ»
  6. This may not be PC, but think about this. If a cruise line had everything onboard to accommodate people with sensory issues, mobility issues, hearing issues, digestive issues and all other issues pertaining to health and/or navigating life, the cost of all the equipment would have to be passed onto passengers and the cruise fares would be quite inflated. For example- If I needed a walker for a mobility issue, I would need to bring the walker onboard with me. I would not expect the cruise line to furnish one for me. If you have a need for a weighted blanket, the suggestion would be to bring such a blanket with you. MJ
  7. @mbglibBasically, using common sense and making good choices can help you eat sensibly on a cruise or anywhere else ,really. I have been working with a nutritionist since November, trying to get some lab test numbers in normal range. Choosing fruits, vegetables, fiber rich foods and staying away from processed foods have helped me get my test numbers in line. The triglyceride level dropped 31 points, glucose is 91 and cholesterol levels are in the normal range. I even lost a pound over the Christmas-New Year holidays. i did indulge in some holiday desserts and special foods, but other meals followed the guidelines the nutritionist advised. Try to avoid pasta, rich sauces and gravy and those bread baskets. Sugar free desserts are not advised by nutritionists. The use of artificial sweeteners are of no benefit and do have side effects. Better to have a dessert, but not eat the entire portion. Also try to limit sweets to one meal a day. Those frozen cocktails like pina coladas are delicious, but pack in the calories. Better to choose a glass of wine, champagne or gin and tonic. While thinking about drinking, have a lot of water during the day- stay hydrated. All the food on a cruise is very tempting. My DHand I would often recall a woman we knew in a Weight Watchers group we attended years ago. She reached her goal weight and, understandably so,was very pleased with her accomplishment. She went on a cruise not long after reaching her goal. She returned to WW after the cruise and was very dismayed to find out she had gained 21 pounds on the vacation. We gave her credit for returning to the WW meeting and facing the weight gain. She got back on program and eventually lost the cruise weight to get back to goal, but it was a lesson for all in the group. Make good choices and enjoy the cruise ! MJπŸ™‹πŸ»
  8. I understand your frustration about the seating arrangement in Vines or lack thereof. Our last Princess Cruise was 2017,so things may have changed. I recall that the bar at Vines was not always open in the daytime, especially early in the day. People would take seats there to talk quietly, read or play cards when the bar was closed. If people are now occupyng the space without enjoying a glass of wine there, I would speak to someone at Guest Services or the manager when Vines is open for service. It is up to staff/management to make those being served at Vines comfortable. MJπŸ™‹πŸ»
  9. George C- Not being a Debbie Downer, but being realistic re: the kitchen update. After experiencing two kitchen renovations, one in our home, the other in a Florida condo, the job may take longer than you anticipate. You may want to make the trip to NYC and Buffalo nearer to July 4 than Memorial Day- just sayin’ πŸ˜‰ Hoping the update goes smooth for you and that you enjoy the new kitchen. Will you post photos of before and after like @Jimbo? I like home decorating, enjoy seeing all kinds of styles and designs. MJπŸ™‹πŸ»
  10. Graham- What a lovely vacation spot and birthday treat for Pauline ! The photos show beautiful sunshine days ! MJπŸ™‹πŸ»
  11. Good job,John. Always good to have a project. I am sure that Bella was a good helper! Now,relax and enjoy the cruisewity LaLa and the CC company ! MJπŸ™‹πŸ»
  12. Hoping you both recover comfortably at home. I do have a question/concern. Because you tested positive for Covid, did you and Holly wear masks departing the ship, going through the airline terminal,on the plane and transportation to your house ? So many areas where germs can be spread. I am assume that you did wear masks as you are responsibly minded people. MJ
  13. Good morning to all who are not on the Bella cruise. Whatever you do today, hope it is a good one for you! MJπŸ™‹πŸ»
  14. Woof, woof,Lenny ! That’s me trying to impersonate Bella to say thank you for thinking of me!🐾 MJπŸ™‹πŸ»
  15. @Ocean Boy Must be that everyone is busy on the ship. If we go to the web cam around 4:00,we should be in time to see the ship headed out. What do you think ? MJπŸ™‹πŸ»
  16. @h20skibum Thank you for posting about your daughter’s recent health situation. Disheartening news, but also hopeful in that treatment will be available to her. You and your wife have been a loving constant for her,not only during these past months, but for her whole life. I am certain of this , because of the love and support you have given her during this recent journey. As parents, you will continue to support her and her family for the days ahead. Those who care for loved ones must take care of themselves to be able to be there to help. Please take time to address your health needs during this time. It is easy to say, but take some time to try to relax and recharge. Try to reach out to others to help share the load of your daughter’s treatments. In letting others help you,you are helping your daughter, her husband and your grandchildren. I have been in a similar situation. So, I realize how much energy and emotion is involved in caring for someone so dearly loved. πŸ™ MJ
  17. Happy birthday wishes for Pauline,Dani and all those celebrating for the month of March ! πŸŽ‚πŸ₯‚βοΈπŸ’πŸ₯³πŸŽ‰πŸ§πŸ»πŸŽ MJπŸ™‹πŸ»

  20. Catching up here ,again. Reading the posts about cars - the first car that I drove was a Chevrolet Malibu that was aqua with black interior circa 1967-68. It was my Dad’s car and I loved driving it! I did have my eye on a neighbors β€˜66 Mustang. I thought I would by it from him, but he and his wife moved from the neighborhood and my $$ went to other things like Grad school. The first car that I bought new was a small Mazda. I called it the putt-putt It was the early 70’s when cars were on the small side for low gas consumption. My BIL was a Mazda salesperson- enough said. The car I drive now is a Huge new Accord hybrid - touring model. Lots of electronics to keep me safe on the road. It is one big computer. It is the kind of hybrid that charges itself while driving No plug-in for recharge. We bought it in March of last year. I am bringing it in for NYS inspection today. The car has 1415 miles on it. I use it to go to the golf course once a week in season. We also take it on trips to places we are unfamiliar with as the navigation is so easy to use. Still would like a 66 Mustang, but do not think it will happen.πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ Posting a photo of the Honda I call Kit - from the TV show Night or is it Knight Rider ? Have a good day all !
