We're doing the same thing. flying into FLL, staying at the Embassy and SAS picking us up the next morning, taking us to MIA. We have an early flight coming home and I have complete confidence that SAS will get us there on time.. great company, great people

By the way, we book SAS right after we book the cruise. Yep, sometimes a year ahead, lol

Google SAS transportation share a ride. there is a form for you to fill out and you can make requests. these people are wonderful, we use them all the time. They are working with us to make an early flight 10:40 out of FLL, pick up in MIA Their vans are outside the port as soon as the ship docks. Give um a try!!

I've tried two times to book Hyatt place using Value trips and got no response. I emailed twice and left a voice mail. What should I do? I'm looking fir a precruise hotel for early November. Starting to feel it's a rip off company.

Yep, same here. they took a week or more, to confirm the res. Turns out I had to cancel, and they never responded. I had to jump through hoops getting Hyatt to cancel it. No more

Regarding Coastal Kitchen. Do they still allow you to bring in a quest for dinner. We'll be on the Oasis.

Allure allowed this last time we sailed but have not been on Oasis for awhile.

The title of your post is a little confusing - the port of Miami is typically abbreviated POM. MIA typically refers to the Miami International Airport.

Thanks for the report..Still trying to decide on a shuttle or using uber (for the first time :o). What time did they pick you up? We like to get to the port early and was concerned that if using a shared shuttle we'd get there later than we'd like.

They picked us up at 9:30am at the Embassy. You can specify your request as they have many vans. We also like to get to the port early.

Have used SAS before and we were always happy. This time they were above and beyond good !!! Driver Curt, was knowledgeable friendly and courteous.

He picked us up at Embassy suites in FLL and it only took about 30 min until we arrived at the port in MIA.

I was concerned about an upcoming flight because it's 10:40 am (departing MIA to FLL) Curt told me they have shuttles outside the port before the ship is cleared and would get us to the airport in plenty of time, even if it meant the shuttle was not full.

For $15. pp , (multiple people, only $13.pp), you sure can't go wrong !!!

I would not chance a 10:40 am flight out of FLL on a Friday morning. I drive south on 95 from Fort Lauderdale to Miami every weekday and see the northbound traffic is usually very backed up, even in the express lanes. If there is an accident or broken down car in either the general purpose lanes or the express lanes, forget it.

I thought about the traffic. We're risk takers are are going try and make the flight. Since we're flying SW, we can call 10 min before flight and cancel, no penalty. Also have res. at Embassy suites for that night and SW res. for the next day.

You can save 5-10+ min. by skipping UberXL and just grabbing the first van/SUV cab in the line - fare should be about the same ($75+tip)

 

For a 1040 flight you need to be at FLL NLT about 9:00 - earlier is better. With the ride from POM to FLL taking 45-60 min. you need to be in a cab/Uber NLT 8:00

I did call.. 14 people must fill the van. He said people do get to the van as early as 7:30am but it might take an hour to fill the van. Makes sense !

Take a look into MJS Transportation. I have used them in the past and they are, in my experience, reliable and courteous. I found them by reading posts on this site. They will have transportation waiting for you at the pier and the only thing they ask is for you to call a Miami local number when you get through US Customs. I just recently booked them again for my cruise at the end of the month. It was $15 per person for a one way shuttle. You may want to call them and verify that they can get you back to FLL in time for your 10:40 am flight. If not, there is always Uber, but they are much more expensive. Hope this helps! Pretty sure the JS does NOT get you double points. I would go for the GS.

You do get double for JS. I would caution you to avoid JS center ship, deck 8. on Rhapsody. really noisy and the sewer smell was terrible. Also no walk in closet like other ships.

No, you don't. You may even be able to get your choice of robe types. No begging involved.

I wonder is any RCCL cruisers can help us find a couple we met on Grand Princess in October 2010.

They are called Cindy and Jim.

We believe that they are in the top 10 of most days at sea with RCCL.

They were a great couple and we were meant to catch up on the last night, but events overtook us, and we were disappointed.

Any help is appreciated.

We stayed there in December and the bathroom door was in the bedroom, not the hall between the Living room and Bedroom.

Also stayed there in early Jan and bathroom was in the bedroom

same thing happened to us. Gee, his meter was also broken.

Taxi should be about $25+tip - lots of cabs lined up at TPA waiting for your business.

 

Uber should be about $15+
