Sorry, but I am somewhat tired of this nonsense. As a D+, I could care less whether you are in the lounge because you are Pinnacle, Diamond Plus or in a suite. If you are there, you deserve to be there.
I'm more concerned that you are a nice person who enjoys good conversation and who isn't judging other people simply because of their status or cabin!
Thank you, well said and I feel exactly the same as you.

Male or female, should not matter to Dexter. I'm sad to hear this because I think highly of him.[/b]

He was one of the worst unfriendly concierges we have ever met! Another passenger said the same thing. The other passenger walked into the lounge to see his mom for 1 minute with a drink in hand since he had purchased the beverage package and then walked out. Dexter yelled at him from across the room saying he would kick him out of the lounge if he took a drink out of the lounge again in front of all the guests. He embarrassed him about talking his drink out! Dexter has no class at all.
Wow, that's not the Dexter we know. He must have been having a really bad day to say something like that. Not good.

We have a 9:15am flight leaving FLL, in Nov. also on Oasis.
As long as everything goes on time , when leaving the ship, I feel confident we can make it.
Hate carrying our luggage off, but we've done it before and we can do it again.[/center]

It's funny how many crew call us passengers Mom and Dad(some have more than one Mom/Dad:))....guess that helps them from missing their family..
Lol, Dexter doesn't call me MOM, he calls me trouble !
-
He has had a great vacation home with his wife and twin baby boys in Guyana.

I know you're "MOM" to Dexter, Karen. When you write him, tell him Mimi , the shy one, said hi.

Dexter Fraser returns to being A Concierge on May 17 on Allure. Will share which lounge when I know.

Ahhh good, was just thinking about Dexter

Got a $75. drop on Allure 12/ 2016

We were on the 4/12 sailing and on sea days, you couldn't find a lounger anywhere. I'm sure if you went first thing in the morning, you would be ok. Same for solarium, always packed.
-
Anyone know if Dexter will return to Allure after his vacation?
-
It would make more sense to have the childrens club open during those hours. Everyone would be happy.
-
So many rumors flying around. We just got off the Allure (fantastic) Concierge said "they" were trying to figure out a way to use the original concierge on deck 11 for D and D+. He said D+ would be upstairs and D on the lower level. Concierge also said they don't see how that would work.
So, they take away cooked breakfast, wine and beer and lunch in the concierge. Ok so be it. But I sure would miss not being able to have evening cocktails in the lounge. I'm hoping this would be the same on Oasis.
We're sailing b2b Oasis in Oct. Is the concierge lounge or maybe it's called Diamond club, in the same concierge lounge on deck 11?
So many changes, just can't keep up.

Seriously. I've seen people dodge the lady holding hand sanitizer at the entrance to the Windjammer. What, you're too cool to wash your hands?
Maybe they just left the restroom and washed their hands in there. Just sayin"

Love that hotel. Great rates, great transportation, even early transportation to the port if you want it. They also have a store on the property to pick up last minute items or those 2 bottles of wine you can bring aboard. The prices in the shop for items and for buying wine were ok. A little more, but ok.
Wish Miami had a hotel as good.
thank you. this is our first time staying there.

I called. Now it's $79. for 4 people
-
I've heard this deal is pretty good - someone posted a favorable review in the last couple of months.
Called and now it's $79. but it's 4 people not 2.
-
Fort Lauderdale Day Rooms They offer a room, transportation to and from airport and port and use of the facilities. $49. for two people
Sounds too good to be true. We have a 7:30 pm flight Any other options you may know about.
-
Thank you. Is this a safe area to walk at night.

How far is the Riverside FLL from Embassy suites on 17th st. Is this hotel anywhere near the trolley? Also would like to know what is near the hotel to get water, wine. thank you.
-
Anyone ever have a 7:25 pm flight leaving FLL? Sure hope we can use the valet service.
Good to know about the senior rate on SW, who would have known.
-
We really lucked out.....no need for an additional night in FLL.
SW just opened up a NS flight, same day as cruise departure
Leaves at 7:25 pm but we can deal with that
-
thank you for all the suggestions.
We're staying at Riverside in FLL pre cruise but have yet to get a hotel for 3/1. I will look into the Hyatt.
-
Appreciate your input, but may one make corrections to your statements.
The research was actually minimal. Many years ago one selected a first hotel in FL (Marriott Beach and Harbour), then we booked Westin (with bridge), followed by Westin (Hollywood), and when sold, received a reccomendation of Pillars by a fellow Cruiser, where we now book. This could not be considered research.
With regard to price, one selects a hotel which one would like to stay for two/three nights prior to a cruise, this to make a good start to a vacation and thereby making it special. For our part, to concentrate solely on price, is not the way we wish to commence, or take, a vacation.
Yes, I agee. To each his own.:)

Have made suggestions in the past for good hotels to start a vacation, based on personal experience, but have the feeling that some may be solely seeking a stay at the lowest possible price.
Therefore, if your requirement is the cheapest of cheap, then consider AIRBNB :)
Some of us are not aware of the hotels you recommended. I'm sure you put a lot of time into researching the many different hotels.
As far as cheapest of cheap, I don't consider paying $200. for a hotel, cheap. :)
