  1. Same thing happened to us several years ago. Hub realized there was no meter. I told the driver we stay at embassy every year. Arrival...the guy wanted $50. I said no, we usually pay $16. He got mad and said ok $40. I told him he was a crook and I was calling the police. He took off and we never paid him a dime.

  2. Leaving FLL,airport , a cab driver asked if we needed a taxi. Sure did. Hopped in and told him Embassy suites 17th st. Hub was looking around and didn't see a meter. Started a conversation and said we stayed at ES every trip. When we got there, cabby said $55. please. What?? We usually pay $16+. Nope, I'll settle for $45. I told him he was a crook, I was going to report him and he gets nothing. He left !!!! Lesson learned.

  3. Arriving FLL 3/4/2017 around 8pm One night needed

    Hilton Garden Inn airport FLL

    Hampton Inn FLL airport N.

    Homewood suites/hilton FLL airport

Hampton Inn FLL downtown Los Olas area

All priced $200. Would be nice to have shuttle from airport to hotel. Also need to buy easy dinner and get bottled water for the cruise.

    Any help appreciated. thanks

  4. I've stayed at the Miami airport one and the Doral one! Both are identical in design and amenities, Doral one is a bit farther away from everything, but typical is cheaper than the airport one

I just checked it out and it seems really nice. Think I'll cancel my other res. and book there. Don't suppose they have an airport shuttle??

  5. Carpet with holes in it at casino entrance:eek:

Must of been looking for that, as I never noticed it and I was in and out of that place quite a lot.:)

I did notice a piece of wallpaper slightly torn on one of the hallway walls on deck 7, that did it for me, I will never sail Allure again, how dare they not have the decorators miss such a ghastly sight.

;) hope they don't try and find that piece of wallpaper:rolleyes:

Observation: for someone who really does not care about food, sure made plenty of references to poor offerings and quality, just sayin

That is his opinion, and he is entitled to it. To each his own

  6. Don't get too excited .... We've just come back from our first cruise as a Diamond member on INDI and the Conceige lounge was full every night from 5pm till 8.30pm and the diamond lounge was also full tho they extended that particular room by closing the Viking crown bar and making it a diamond and above only venue which made things a lot better...

My only worry for you is that you may experience similar hostile welcoming to what me and my family did over the past 14 nights when entering either the Conceige or diamond lounges , basically people who I'd imagine are either diamond plus or pinnacle were and obliviously know each other started pointing and questioning our status of drinking in these venues in which made me and my family feel very unwelcome and put a sour feeling to what would of been a very good holiday .....

My tips would be to enter either lounge before 5pm and get a seat enjoy the free drinks and just try to ignore what's going on around you !!

The drinks vouchers are only 3 per person when it's unlimited in both lounges ...

Problem solved. Just go mingle with the people that are making you feel uncomfortable. Breaks the ice every time I have tried it.

  7. Here is a map showing four popular cruise hotels (at least two are close your budget range), near grocery and liquor, bars, restaurants and beach!

The hotels offer shuttle services to the Port - no problem but if you want to be there by 10 you may have to get a taxi - about $20 - $25. Hotel shuttles start to run just after 10am (most likely closer to 10:30am) but it is a short ride to the Port.

Cocoa Beach Shuttle, Uber and others can get you to the hotel from MCO.

Ahhhh good man Joe, lol thank you for the helpful info.

  8. Never been there before and have been reading posts about hotels.

This is what I need. Shuttle to hotel, still don't know where but thinking co co beach. I would like a liquor or maybe grocery story within walking distance of hotel. Also considering Embassy at the airport but I know there is nothing around the hotel.

shuttle to port or cost of taxi from coco beach to Freedom

Hotel doesn't have to be on the beach, just clean and price around $150.

Best shuttle recommendation. We like to be on the ship by 10 am.

hoping I'm not asking too much, lol And thank you everyone
