Sorry, I don't get it either. UNLESS the first CSR never gave the Celebrity number. My second call would have been "I was told to call this number, I know it's wrong, can you give me the correct number?". I don't understand asking for a supervisor for either call.

ATT Cruise Ship Plan vs Shipboard Surf&Stream
S.A.M.J.R. replied to Coochuck's topic in Royal Caribbean International
You can look at your ATT bill (or the website) to see how much data you use in a "normal" month. That should give you a baseline. I don't generally stream on my phone, just use it for email, web browsing, messaging and the last four months I've had over 10Gb usage each month. -
Cruising vs All Inclusive Resort
S.A.M.J.R. replied to LivLove2Cruise's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Don't forget to account for a drink package (included in the AI rate) and a larger room (unless you're in a suite on a cruise, which changes the math). While both are similar, there are differences. @KSprite01 did an EXCELLENT job comparing the two. -
Many hotels chains (Hilton is definitely one) have gone to only servicing your room every five days. So, if you want service every day, make sure you pick a brand that has that. Likewise, if you want twice a day service on a cruise, make sure you pick a line that has that. "I don't like the way this company does business, but I'm going to keep giving them my money." is a great way to let folks know you really DON'T have a problem.

I think that's only on Freedom class ships. -
Port Canaveral Embarkation and MCO arrivals
S.A.M.J.R. replied to ixmnrs's topic in Royal Caribbean International
IMO, smart people fly in the day before. Assuming Noon arrival, say off the plane and get luggage by 1230, get to shuttle and transport to the pier, 130 at the earliest. All aboard is 330? So, as long as you don't have flight delays, don't have luggage delays, don't have transportation delays, or any combination, you're fine! -
Are 10 pictures worth getting a package for? I don't know what the cost of the individual pics (preferably digital versions) are vs the package, but it would be worth comparing.

In a panic, missed final payment

Doesn't matter what's in the cloud if you can't access it. -

It was more of a joke, but all the electronic reminders don't help if there's a power outage. 😉 -

Never say never... a power outage in your area? 🤪 -

Not familiar with British "consumer act". Does it allow you to NOT pay a vendor when the vendor requires it and you still get the product? I also wanted to ask... when you first book your cruise and get an email confirmation, does it not say "full payment due on 'x'"? There's your notification. I don't think quoting what happened during the pandemic is a good indication of what's "allowed". How about you do this... don't pay when your final payment is due. Say you never got the email. Go to board, and when they say your cruise was cancelled for lack of payment, tell them you're going to pay them 90 days after the cruise is over. When they say you can't do that, let them know you fall under the British consumer protection. Let us know how it works out for you. -
In a panic, missed final payment
S.A.M.J.R. replied to tomahawk246's topic in Royal Caribbean International
If only wishing made it so. The problem is, it really doesn't matter what you want. You agreed to PIF 90 days ahead of time. Check your contract. Pretty sure it doesn't say anything about "we'll definitely email you." It really doesn't matter how Royal pays their vendors. That's up to the agreement between the two companies. The agreement between you and Royal says you'll pay 90 days ahead of time. FWIW, if you didn't know, your utilities at your house will cut you off for non-payment, whether you received an invoice from them or not. -
Why? Hotels would have tracking on what key opens the door just like ships. Whats the difference?

What time is departure from Roatan
S.A.M.J.R. replied to Sbfherring's topic in Royal Caribbean International
There are reports on CC of ships SOMETIMES staying on departure time, and SOMETIMES going to local time. Port Schedules (put out by the port) will be local time. My advice, is simply ask the excursion folks. They're going to know what time you need to be back to the ship. -
Odd question- medical services on RCCL
S.A.M.J.R. replied to sadiwest's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Well, there are cash accounts AND one presumably could use a CC with a low limit. Either way, if the bill is higher (whether for medical, excursions, drink/dining plans, etc), you won't be allowed off if you still owe money. -
I'm the paranoid type, so I'd put it back in the bag if I wasn't in the room. I'm sure part of the contract is Royal isn't responsible for items not in the safe. There are probably hundreds of thousands of examples of folks leaving electronics out with no issue, but I would still put the computer out of sight.

Odd question- medical services on RCCL
S.A.M.J.R. replied to sadiwest's topic in Royal Caribbean International
They did for us. In 2014, DD cut her head in the pool on night 1. Sutures, followups, and no charge. In 2016(?), I sprained my knee playing volleyball. X-rays, crutches for a day, then a cane to get off the ship, no charge. OP, they wouldn't have let them off the ship without taking care of the bill. If it didn't get charged to the cabin, they're not billing for it. -
Cabin service: Changed to once a day on RCI ?

Here's my solution... don't like what a company is providing you? Vote with your wallet.
