  1. I highly recommend Away Luggage. Lifetime guarantee. If you have an issue with your luggage, call them … they will send out a replacement piece overnight. When you receive it, put your old piece in the same box the new one came in, stick the prepaid sticker on and send it back. Aside from their great service, I really love their products!
  2. I participated in the million dollar slot tournament this past November on the MG. If I recall correctly, there were 2 or 3 rounds and then the final round. Everyone that had an entry played the first round. The Player’s that scored above a certain score moved onto the second/third round. The first place finisher in the final round won $500,000 and the remaining $500,000 was divided among I believe the top 100 players. I know that the person that came in 50th place won $50K in honor of Carnival’s birthday celebration.
  3. Thank you so much! Did you find the service on the ship to worked well for you?
  4. I am currently an AT&T customer that gets their cruise package that includes unlimited text and calling while on the ship. I also purchase a Carnival Wi-Fi value or premium plan. I’m considering switching to T-Mobile. It doesn’t look like they offer a cruise package comparable to AT&T. If you are a T-Mobile customer that uses your phone for texts and calls on the ship, what kind of pricing have you experienced? Can I FaceTime with my phone using the ships Wi-Fi and for go the cruise plan all together? Thank you!
  5. I’ve been looking forward to your trip report! Thanks for much for the hard work you put into these!
  6. Yes, they can. We had a casino host offer us a comp for Loft 19 for a day on our MG cruise last November.
  7. I recommend the SMP parking lot, located at 150 Rosenberg St. It’s directly across the street from the ship. I can verify that the parking reimbursement information I provided earlier is accurate. I’ve taken many Elite cruises out of Galveston and have always had my parking reimbursed at the cashier in the casino. You will receive an email from Carnival a couple of weeks before your cruise. The email will prompt you to choose your excursion, parking information and in room welcome beverages.
  8. They will send you a list of excursions to choose from a couple of weeks before your cruise. We chose the Sea Lion excursion at Blue Lagoon in Nassau. You may park your car at any of the lots at the port. You’ll need to take your receipt to the casino cashier for reimbursement.
  9. Having eaten at both restaurants on MG, I think my steak at Rudi’s was far superior to my steak at the steakhouse. My friends were very happy with their seafood choices at Rudi’s as well.
  10. I bring a small carry on roller bag and put all of our soda in it. Much easier than trying to carry it.
  11. In my opinion, the balconies are not that bad. I’ve been in ocean suites on deck 9 and corner ocean suites. I prefer the corner ocean suites because they are a bit larger and they are fully covered. Having said that, I would stay in both again. The other benefits of the ship definitely outweigh the balcony cons.
  12. I sailed on the Dream in July … at the beginning of the cruise they were using the buns they regularly use. About half way through the trip, they switched to larger buns that were dry and not at all appealing. At the time, I chalked it up to supply chain issues. Now I’m not sure??
  13. Willdra, thank you so much for writing these reviews! I greatly appreciate the effort you put into these!
  14. I very much enjoyed your review! Thank you so much for taking the time to write it!
  15. We were in an Ocean Suite on Mardi Gras a few weeks ago. Our suite had a pullman in the ceiling. Not sure about interior rooms.
  16. I agree! 🤣 I was really looking forward to the inaugural cruise. The 23rd is sold out. Ended up rebooking for NYE.
  17. I appreciate you sharing this information and I’m so sorry to hear about your fur baby’s passing. I’m glad you were able to say “goodbye”.
  18. We only saw 3-4 cabanas being used while we were there.
  19. True. We weren’t upset as we knew it was a possibility that they wouldn’t allow it.
  20. We returned from the Mardi Gras this past weekend. During our trip we had a cabana booked for one day. We had 6 people in our party. My husband and I and another couple were first to arrive at the cabana. I left a short while later to go find the other couple traveling with us to let them know we were in the cabana. On my way back up, I stopped by the cabana desk to let them know that we had another couple on their way up and asked that they show them to the cabana. I acknowledge that I understand that they limit the guests to 5 people and told him that either my husband or I would leave so that our guests could enjoy the cabana for a while. They refused to let our friends join us even though we agreed to keep it to 5 people. I’m hoping that the information you received is accurate. It very well may be since you have it for the week and are only looking to switch people each day as opposed to the same day.
  21. We were in GT last week and my husband was not able to get off the ship. When we booked the cruise many months ago, all of the Covid protocols were still in place. I filled out his required health questionnaire stating that he was not vaccinated and also sent in the form requesting an exemption so that he could go on the cruise. The night before we arrived in GT, Carnival sent a letter to our stateroom stating he would not be able to get off the ship due to him not being vaccinated. Not a big deal, we knew going into it that he most likely wouldn’t be able to get off the ship. I suspect that it will be easier for unvaccinated guest to get of the ship in GT going forward as long as their booking is made after the protocols went away and there isn’t a record of them not being vaccinated.
