  1. Yes, I did. That's it, until Covid.... Just when I thought we'll be back to "normal" life, the war started 6 months ago. Funny thing, after his 2nd visit, when I got the "gist", I said "I'll like matching earrings, on our dime". They were eager to please Dani "san" and took DH to wholesale shops and he came back with single matching pearls, which I then designed in earrings for my taste. Bought some small diamonds at the Antwerp bourse to go with "my" pearls and ready made designer lockers for the necklaces, instead of the silver plated ones 😎
  2. @jagsfan Thanks, Mimi. So glad to see you posting. This sad time is also the worst time -- tragic mistakes are made and innocent people pay with their lives. High time to stop and look for peaceful solutions. @DaniDanielle + 1 , Marietta 😘
  3. DH was also at least 7 times in Tokyo and Kyoto for work (and he's not at all keen to return, given the long flight). "Somehow", the Japanese took a "shine" on him, and, after his first visit, asked only that he will be sent. As a "compensation" for leaving me with 2 small kids for weeks at a time (we were living in Brussels then, and I had not much aid from parents and friends), the Japanese sent me every time a pearl necklace....
  4. @FromSea2ShiningSea + 1 , I had no idea there so many beautiful places in Japan. And the cherry blossom is amazing.
  5. @Luckynana Maryann, So sorry. I've kind of been "lost in translation", misunderstanding your post.😢 😢 😢
  6. Thanks for asking. Very slight improvement, but it's almost 2 weeks!!! Yes, I've been to the family doctor a week ago, he prescribed a syrup for my awful cough, said my lungs are clean, just give it time.... ☹️
  7. Maryann, sorry to read this. If I remember well, last year Lois made a miraculous recovery. Don't give up hope. Huge hugs (((( ))))
  8. Same here... @ReneeFLL + 1 ************************************************************************************************************ .... and I'm still sick as a cat/dog. Must be a wild type of flu. Very frustrating.
  9. Right you're, Mark. @h20skibum Just reading #6 on VirgiL series. In my defense - I'm down with a nasty flu (vaccinated to boot) for more than a week. Got it from DH, who had a light "version", since he didn't bother to get vaccinated.... Not fair, not fair at all 😢
  10. Glad you liked it. Sandford is a very good writer. I've finished all the "Prey" series, and started with his "side-kick" -- Virgin Flowers. Enjoying it very much. OTOH, I was a fan of J.K. Rowling "alter ego" Robert Galbraith series. The last 2 ones were awful. First time I've found myself skipping pages and pages.
  11. May 2024 or May 2025? Argentina Residenza e m a i l . They're very responsive. info at argentinaresidenza dot com Might shoot them an email, asking when they'll open for bookings. They fill up quickly. Ask for a room in the Main Building, that's where a very copious b'fast is served.
  12. You'd like to be near the Pantheon. It's the "ground zero" for walking around. This hotel is widely used by myself and many other cruisers and its location is spot on, with reasonable rates, for Rome, that is. I only book on the official site for free cancellation. https://www.argentinastylehotel.com/en/
  13. Rome it is. If you have a long day in Athens, you can book ahead a visit to Acropolis. We took a taxi from the pier and "beat" the crowds. The earlier, the better. Skip the line. Here is the official website. It's kind of clunky, but it works. https://etickets.tap.gr/webengines/tap_b2c/english/tap.exe?PM=P1 The region is ATTICA The site is ACROPOLIS AND SLOPES Pick the date Pick a time. The time is for statistical purposes only, but the ticket gives you the right to enter without waiting in line whenever you show up that day. Pick the number of persons. Pick "single use" or "combined" which gives you access to other sites. Checkout. For Rome, there are lots of companies offering transfers/shared shuttles from pier to hotels in Rome. I can recommend you one, should you decide. Also an excellent located hotel right in the middle of "everything", the same.
  14. @John @Ozark_Kid and I couldn't agree more. Welcome back among us, Maryann. You've been thoroughly missed 😘
