  1. I agree! We recently sailed the Pride in August, our first cruise in a while, and I was actually looking forward to the dine-in lunch. I was disappointed with the brunch they replaced it with.

We think the brunch is a nice change of pace.

On longer cruise didnt know until we got the fun times what the next lunch at sea would bring.

  2. We just finished our second cruise on Princess.

First on Royal and entertainment was mostly classical with violin and string quartets and very good.

This one on Ruby was totally different withs hypnotists and magician not what we were expecting.

    Is there a norm?

  3. I also read that Curtis Stone will be in charge of the Chef's table menu. I think that might be good. I was and Barnes and Noble today and checked out a couple of his cookbooks. I was impressed....there was no froth in the books, not cat's puke on anything....It looked like good solid recipes that were certainly updated but looked, and sounded, delicious..Everyone get so upset over the word "Share". Is it possible to share an idea? or a concept? I never understood...and yes....I watched all of the video's....that this was a communal dish served family style everyone dipping their hand into the crockpot type of meal...You can share many things.....but not necessarily my dinner....:) I have the the Chef's table enough where all of my friends have Princess cookbooks...I would like something other than great appetizers in the kitchen...rather than three huge hunks of meat on my plate that I can't finish...I am more than willing to try it out....at least twice....as things....while they are supposed to be the same, all seem to have their own touch applied....I will be on the Ruby in a couple of weeks and will let you know what I think.....

Just off the Ruby and looked at his menu for share and very weird stuff. Only beef on the menu was beef cheeks yuk. Doesnt look like it is stsarting very well manager kept going around DR trying to get people to come there.

25 for crown grill and 39 for share. Not much to think about in my book.

Who knows what the chefs table will look like.

  4. As a thought to OP, why not buy and keep with you some ear plugs. They will stop all that noise and let you sleep. They are inexpensive and can be found at your local pharmacy.

That doesn't excuse the noise or lessen the blame but if it happens to you again hopefully it will allow you to sleep.

As to the food issue I have no doubts that your deception is accurate, but I am appalled that Carnival was so negligent as to allow this to happen. As bad as gluten allergies are can you imagine what would have happened if someone went into anaphylactic shock because the kitchen couldn't get a meal correct.

Hopefully your next cruise is better.

DW has unusual food allergies. We discuss with head waiter the first night and they usually do a good job.

Last cruise she kept getting foods on her plate she couldnt have.

On the third night we had enough spoke to MD and asked to speak to head chef. He took notes and no problem from than on.

OP should write out a card with what she cannot have and hand it to the MD the first night and than as needed.

The waitstaff English skills are limited and their writing things down may or may not work.
