In Aruba we take island bus to a beach and just rent chairs and umbrella.

GT thee is a huge Margaritaville that offers free shade and no pressure for drinks and we usually just hang out there

It's 5 days or nights no matter how you break it down.

The Sunshine is going to China because the word sunshine in Chinese is very lucky and the casino is one that the Chinese would really like.

Could be but still think it is strange that other cruise lines build new ships for the Chinese market and so far CCL plans to send older ships.

Funny you say that, because I just heard someone say that when they were on Princess, the food was so bad they had to go buy snacks when in port. Conflicting reports here.

We are Diamond on Carnival and think the food is good.

Just back from our second Princess and the buffet on Princess is substantially better than Carnival. And for some reason you never see lines to get into the buffet.

Other than to take double the money they dont do anything for solos

Some of the Journeys cruises are round-trip, and seem to be selling really well. Ours is round-trip from Charleston and sold out more than five months in advance.

Wish they would do these longer cruises but return to originating port. Much easier when we dont have to fly back.

Just be glad he didn't call it brilliant because somehow when that term is used it always ends up being something very bad for the majority of us cruisers!

Carnival only has one per day. HAL sometimes has two. I have been there on Oosterdam when Noordam was also there. EM

Didnt realize HAL would have two. Would make it rather overcrowded especially during lunch.

So we have two unrelated guests on the same sailing with similar opinions about the food being below average. The proof is in the pudding, or the creme brulee as the case may be. Thank you both for sharing your honest opinion.

One is below average and that I can believe but inedible at every meal? That is a bit much.

A lot of hyped announcements always seem to be let downs though not just cruise ones :)

 

I was pondering on the Vista forum that the announcement from Jacksonville may be from there becauses hes boarding a ship there. Jimbo informed me JH wanted to sail small ships so it makes one wonder.

 

After research found out the ship is the Fascination.

He has exciting news about Vista.

He will be announcing that in 60 days they will tell us who the capt will be for the inaugural cruise.

He didn't say anything about the ship coming to Jax just that he'll be here to make an announcement about the Vista.

I can not wait until "Two Platinums, One Plate" makes it way to John Heald.

If it does it wont be me sending it there.

I dont understand why they give them to us if they are not fit to eat.

Maybe some ships have different rules! My mom and I are both platinum and every time we sail together in the same cabin, we only get 1 plate. But we both get the gifts and pins.

 

When I sailed with my boyfriend on his 1st cruise, they sent the 1 plate to the room and gave us both the platinum gifts even though he wasn't platinum.

DW and I get two platinum gifts but one plate of "stuff".

If Carnival brought back the Panama, Costa Rica, Belize itinerary back, I'd book it as soon as it opens for sale!

Would wish they would do it but dump Belize and replace it with GT or HMC or Amber Cove or Roatan or _____.

It's your opinion this is bad behavior. I'm not saying you are wrong, but I have zero obligation to tell anyone what my plans are for the next evening. There's a strong chance my family hasn't made their mind up.

 

What if we decide to stay longer in port, grab a burger at 4:30 or so and then only want a light meal at the buffet? That's a decision made well after the prior nights dinner.

 

This is the single reason I could be at a table with seating capacity for 4 or 400, I'm not waiting or do I expect you to do so.

For people like you they should close door to DR after say 15 minutes so others are not inconvenienced.

We have done this twice out of either Ft Lauderdale or Miami.

They were 8 day cruises going to Panama (just Colon no transit) AND Costa Rica and i think Grand Turk.

Great itinerary that we hope comes back with cheaper fuel prices.

They will show the game around the ship including main lounge. Will have bar food at main lounge so you dont have to leave for food.

and of course will be selling drink there too.

Make sure you tell them about any food allergies you might have.
