Sorry never saw a reason to do it. know that pricing now is about the same as about 10 years ago but price has gone up a bunch in past two years.

When you say both times, did you become Diamond twice or did you use your free upgrade on one cruise and your spouse's free upgrade on the next cruise? If so, that answers the question on whether you need to use the perk on the cruise you become Diamond.
Thanks for the help, we will become Diamond very soon and I was wondering the same thing.
We used mine on one cruise and DW on the other. We did use the first one on the cruise we became Diamond. We waited a few cruises for our next longer cruise to get maximum value for second upgrade.

Depends upon the CD and whether the ship has a young crowd.
Can be a lot of fun when they do the adult version with lots of participation.
-
It is a pain. I have to put two sets of silverwear in my pocket (DW has no pocket) and than we must bring food to table and than go for drinks.
-
Depends upon the MD. Some will make their waitstaff charge and some will not.
We keep our wine in cabin and bring glasses of wine with us on nights we want it.
-
We chose both times and went from OV to extended balcony.
They limited to certain types of balcony for upgrade. For example an aft wrap was available last time but they wouldnt let us do that.
Did it for 14 and 15 day cruises and was a nice perk.

I would graze and than go back to your favorites

You can pay cash to the waitstaff and room stewards if you wish and remove the automatic grats but how would you tip lido people?
-
It is 1 free bottle per table...we were in 2 different cabins also and couldn't get a second one free. We purchased another one 50% off though.
Different ships do it differently. We went as three couples three different cabins one table and got 3 bottles

So, was the free wine decent ?
We got the chardannay and thought it was awful.

The elegance of cruising has gone by the wayside. That is what we miss.
The making of pasta or desserts in the DR, introducing us to the capt and other things that made cruising special.
-
I would avoid if possible. Have heard stories that sometimes everything not finished and they will work on it first cruise after drydock.
-
They sail full generally so normally nothingavailable.
However a few days into cruise someone might not have shown up or left after first port so possible,

Is it replacing St Jude? Didnt hear anything about this last week on the Valor.
-
Dont remember ever not seeing guarantees when booking. Have done reasonably well with them.
-
I prepaid gratuity, did not receive refund for the day we missed, I was told we would at guest services. I will no longer prepay after this.
That is surprising.

Cowboy bill is also very good.
There is no one place to get schedule but JH has access.
-
Have been on most CCL ships and all feel crowded at breakfast and lunch on lido.
For some reason on our two Princess cruises never that crowded.
-
They don't offer bagels and smoked salmon any more???
Smoked salmon has been deep sixed
-
On the valor last week we had to pay to buy our tablemate a birthday cake.
They did give the men in our group a $ 50 gift certificate to the spa which was not transferrable to DW so it went into the trash.

Things like Guy's burgers, Blue Iguana cantina, Alchemy bar, etc.
Actually was happier with grill since it served the most awesome chicken fingers

This is SO disappointing to hear.:(
We were looking at cruising on her at the end of June for an 8 night Eastern.
I know she is going into drydock, and I know she's getting the 2.0 upgrades.
But crappy carpet and rust are a no go. I don't want to see that.
Not when we're looking at spending $3300.
Is carpet something that can/will be replaced during dry dock?
As I just said we were on the ship last week and IMHO not much rust and the carpets not that worn.

We were on the same cruise and thought the ship was in reasonable shape.
They gave us a nice lounge to watch the game with food and drink nearby and had a good time.
Cassie the new CD did a great job.
Quest on Carnival??
in Carnival Cruise Lines

They do it in the same lounge as comedy.
