  1. I'm sitting here at my computer and I count 19 "ships on a stick" that I have brought home from our past cruises. I can guarantee that I have given away more than that! On our last cruise, we were walking back to our cabin after winning the Beatles trivia game and saw this 5-yr old young man telling his parents "you just follow me. I know where we're going". I thought he was so cute that I handed him my SOAS trophy. His eyes lit up so big! Kids are what life is all about!

That was very nice of you. I see no reason to have more than one of a ship and try to give it to a kid in a wheelchair.

  2. I think Carnival should allow a free balcony to suite upgrade. How can they tell Diamond customers who spent 200+ days on a Carnival ship and spent tens of thousands of dollars with Carnival that we value your business but we'll put restrictions on your benefits to keep you from getting a great cabin. I think this is where Carnival fails it's loyal customers.

Every once in a while they talk about a level above diamond. Perhaps they will add it for that level .

  3. Because that's the way cruiselines choose to run their business. Period.

If you want to reduce the Daily Service Charge, you are able to do so.

It is unnecessary for either side of the argument to sway the other to change their opinion. But it is entertaining to watch the same arguments over and over.

    JMHO

Very true. Dont like that part of the auto tips covers guest services and entertainment staff but decided easier to go with the flow and let auto tips ride.

  4. There was the Quest on the Conquest on the week of January 9-17. They ran out of number cards, the room was packed. However, it was very tame compared to others I have been to on NCL and RCI. This WAS the adult game.

We got a group together, but couldn't get a card. We tried to join up with others standing beside us, but they were a bunch of prudes, so there were lots of things they refused to participate in, so they were a bit of a waste of space unfortunately. The game was tamer than I have seen it on other ships, that was probably due to the CD.

When they do the adult version at midnight it is a load of fun. When they do it much earlier not so much. All depends on how the CD does it.

  5. I don't miss the trays since I normally only had a plate, water, and silverware anyway. I do find myself taking a little more food with the larger plates when I go to the buffet (which is not often). What would just thrill me to pieces is a little cup indent on the plate. Then I could put my water on the plate and carry the whole thing with two hands.

Princess also uses large plates on lido but when you sit down with your food a crew member will come over and ask what you would like to drink and than get it for you as well as refills.

Rare on Carnival for refill carts to come around lido.

  6. I always participate in Quest! Of our team of 15, only 4 of us participated. I wish people would participate though instead of just sitting there. Or at least move to the back. We still managed 3rd place though.

Last time the CD had people run to various places in the lounge to make it more fair.

should limit teams to say 8 people to make it a more equal competition.

  7. Thanks for the info. So it sounds like you were able to choose when to use the upgrade.

    Yes

First one we used it for was 15 days to Hawaii. Than waited a few cruies and did it on a 14 day repositioning cruise.

Both times got extended balcony over regular one (moving up from o/v) but since you cannot put a lounge chair on extended is kind of useless extra upgrade.
