There is always a chance your itinerary will change.

According to posts in JH blog when asked, you would be wrong, and not by a slim margin.
It was cute the first few times but as they keep adding workload to the servers and service is not as good as in the past, it does slow down the service.
Wish they would do it say 2-3 times during a 7 day cruise.

I suspect the dancers on the pedestals before too long will be cabin stewards who are no longer needed for evening turn down service of the cabins. Their presence should help to ease the work load for the understaffed dining room team so we can all be served our entrees piping hot and manage to get a cup of coffee with our dessert. ;)
like:)

I suspect that this came about because Carnival was throwing more unused tea away than was getting used. If there was enough of a demand they would have kept the tea varieties.
I doubt it. Who looks at a tea bags date before using it.

I would not trust the stateroom refrigerators to store any dairy products at a safe temperatures.
If you leave the wooden door to the frig open all the time food will be nicely chilled.
-
Two formal nights.

So bring your own.
Shouldnt have to. So sad they are doing this to save a few pennies on a tea bag.

I wouldn't upgrade for $600. My wife turned down an upgrade from an interior to a Grand Suite for $210 total. I wasn't happy when I found out.
Wow that would be a super bargain

Does any one remember the name of the free wine? or at least where it is from? Chile? or Europe? I guess I am not a great wine connaisseur, because last October I discovered that I liked one of their lower priced pinot grigios. It was Italian and started with a Z. If that is the one they give free in the steakhouse, than it will work for me. Any one remember what was offered?
It is called San ____ and believe it comes from Chile. It was a chardonnay and we thought it was undrinkable.

Just another nicety of cruising that they are taking away. So sad

I've actually heard some conflicting reports from Royal/Regal that they do charge for the "regular" tea time now too and not just the Tea Tower in the Piazza.
Last month on Ruby Princess tea time was no charge

Do you think if I select only once a day servicing of our cabin rather than twice a day Carnival would let me have a couple of flavored tea bags comp? ;)
To get that you will need to bring your own towels.

Well the bag must cost at least $ 0.03 per bag over lipton.

I'm not a big fan of the dancing BUT since so many enjoy it, what's 5 minutes out of my day.
The problem is they can barely keep up with serving and than it all comes to a stop.
Better if they could limit it to say 3 days out of a 7 day cruise.

This, exactly. Carnival should list the cabin service items and service times available in the Cruise Manager and ask guests to tick off the boxes online. Carnival for the most part seems to get the bed configuration information indicated online to the ship housekeeping department why not add how many times a day you want the cabin serviced, ice needs, robes etc. as well?
This could work during the pilot program by updating the Cruise Manager section only for those guests with reservations on the affected ships.
If Carnival wanted to do it that way they would have had the third choice. They are saying something in the way this is presented.

We were on the Pride in Oct 2015, our steward can and introduced himself. shortly after that he said Carnival started a new program and showed us the card that indicated in short morning or afternoon service. I told him we wanted both, he mildly said to pick morning or afternoon. I restated both and he said okay. As of October the card only has two possible selections, morning or afternoon. If they truly want both as the third they should print that on the card.
The other possibility is that since they appear to be marketing to first time Carnival cruisers the option will become the standard SOP for CCL and won't be an option.
The same hold true with the robes and the changing of the sheets mid cruise. :)
With all this said we never had a problem with our room steward providing us great service.
As you said, newbie cruises will think it is either or and not know any better. Carnival will than tell us that the vast majority of cruisers are not interesting in twice daily service so we will all get one time service.
-
Do not think of it as "making it easier on them". Think of it as job security for them, because I am certain that it is their intention to cut some of the stewards' jobs when people start selecting only once a day service.
It has happened in the last decade with the dining room waiters, some of the musicians, entertainers, and more recently I have a noticed a cut in bar staff. I realize that most of their staff relies on tips rather than base pay; but there are other perks that go along with the job that can save money if more jobs are eliminated.
Agreed. Carnival's real goal here is to decrease head count and expenses not make it easier for the stewards.

who sleeps in the top bunk?
Bill
My DW sure wont so unless the beds come together not for us

When you go to guest services make sure you are all there.

Cruiselines are generally willing to take your money.
Since your TA gets paid based on a percentage of the sale she should be helpful in doing an upsell.
i would do a mock booking of an upgrade and if its as doable would ask your TA very pointed questions.

I don't think so. This is why they are phasing out the Broadway shows and stuff on these cruises, because the Asian market doesn't want it. Star cruises have been operating there for years, and they are basically casinos with restaurants.
They will certainly make their money in the casinos.
-
With a market that is virtually new to cruising, ships will sell themselves. Also, the Asian market does not need or want all the bells and whistles that N.A. and European cruisers expect. Carnival is building new ships for China, but building them in China, as Chinese flag, to get around China's cabotage laws similar to the US's PVSA. That would allow them to offer coastwise cruises strictly within China, which the government likes as it keeps more money in China.
I agree with you for the first year or so but after people learn a bit about cruising think they would head toward newer and better ships.
Will be interesting to see how that shakes out..

As stated, some people like to go on a cruise knowing they will have no final bill when they leave and prepay everything. Nothing wrong with that if that is what they choose.
If people want to prepay for things before they leave that is certainly their decision. I just said what we prefer to do.
-
I see no reason to pay for stuff before we have too.
