Currently on the Carnival Dream, last day of the cruise and boy has it been wild. Winds and waves started up this morning, but at approximately 1pm we went into a big storm. Ship was listing to the port side. On the starboard side, where my cabin is on 11th floor the water was coming into my cabin and out into the hall. Everyone including crew were sent to their rooms for about 2hrs.
all back to almost normal. Ocean plaza, the entire aft pool area, and all outdoor areas are still off limits. I’ve seen 2 broken glass doors.
Ince released from our rooms I went and sat by guest services, because we all know what was coming and the line was huge. Seriously, these people acting like they should get money because there was a storm. It was ridiculous.
The Thelasso pool was wild. I chose not to get in. Recorded this a few hours before we hit the really bad storm.
Incredibly the internet stayed working the entire time
Wow, that was crazy. Where were you sailing?

I don’t know. We were friends with the two waiters.Solomon and Luis.
I heard that if owners don’t comply something happens to them.

That’s wonderful! We love our retirement. We are in Fiesta Village. Yesterday we went to Progresso and had a great time. We bought meds at Jessica’s and ate and drank at Arturo’s. We used to enjoy a bar called Elsa’s but the owner refused to pay the cartel so it’s now a pharmacy.its no longer safe to go to Reynosa. There are two cartel factions that are fighting there all the time. I just saw your other post…if they were In Fiesta we may know them. We’ve been down here since 2006.
Is the owner from Elsa’s still alive.

PICO.....rescued last April from lady who kept dozens of dogs outside, full time, rain, cold, snow. She was arrested. Pico was scared (being housed with other much larger intimidating dogs), matted, starved. Got her rested, bathed, fed, shots. She's a well behaved and happy go lucky little girl these days.
Think she's about a year old.
Some people need to be treated how they treat animals.
We just bought a puppy from a similar sort and thank goodness we got her out of there.
Pico is a lucky girl and so sweet.- 6

Totally agree on this.
I’ve come across a couple crew members who insinuated the profit making initiative being the main focus of Royal. Which I get.
For instance when I inquired about the vortex bar spinning and we talked about the sister ships not working. The bartender unsolicited said unfortunately whenever it does break it will never get fixed because of how much it would cost the company to repair it. My take was that they don’t expect any non necessities to get much attention on the ship due to costs.
Obviously there are many other maintenance items on a ship that require priority over a spinning bar though 😆
That should give us all the warm and fuzzies - Not!

You do! Most of the time the parents are a lot harder to deal with than the kids.
My sister quit teaching early in her career. She loved the kids couldn’t handle the parents.

Silently following but thought I should tell you that I’m really enjoying your review.

Thanks

Three fifths of the way through my first week back to work, and I'm in full on "cruise withdrawal"... As promised, the pictures of the two masks that I bought and as carefully as possible brought back with me from San Juan and St Thomas. First the African tribal mask from the one store in all of Charlotte Amalie that sells anything BESIDES jewelry... And, next, the vejigante mask from San Juan...
I'm pretty satisfied with both...
They look good in your space. Did you paint the painting on the wall? it’s beautiful

Thanks....just read a posting on our Roll Call that someone who is on the Hawaii sailing now is in isolation with Covid.
They just arrived in Honolulu today and they have to remain in their cabin until Sunday.
I already have N95 masks in our staging area.
My friend is on this week. I hope it’s not them. Her last cruise she ended up in hospital in a far away country but it was a long one and she was able to hook back up with ship after being released from hospital.

By the way, if you ever want people to leave you alone while you're drinking, just get yourself a Charles Manson T-shirt... Or, maybe it's just me...
I’m sure it’s the shirt. I haven’t quite figured out that one yet.
