  1. If Discovery class becomes a reality it probably will only be small relative to Oasis class. I would guess Quantum class size.
  2. He can take and use a walker on the ferry. It might be a challenge using it in St. George.
  3. Airlines have a reputation for damaging wheelchairs and scooters sent as luggage. If I ever needed either I would rent.
  4. Yes, I have the same Chase card. I had not read your later post when I replied. I also have the AMEX Platinum Card which has emergency evacuation and does even require the trip to be booked with the card. I was thinking though of getting a med evacuation policy that gives me more control.
  5. There are YouTube videos that show how to remove watch band links.
  6. If you book a suite on ships that have a suite only type area like the Haven on NCL, the Retreat on Celebrity you can avoid the masses. I found that Oasis class on RCI to be the best designed large ship for spreading people around. Celebrity Solstice class ships have quiet places. I never found any quiet spaces on the two Carnival cruises I took. These days I do as someone else posted. I only book large ships when it is with groups of friends or with extended family.
  7. I bought a couple of Seiko watches which are much better than Ciitzen watches about 15 years ago from Amazon to wear at work. Just had to check the vendor. The only reason they are in a drawer now is I have an Apple Watch.
  8. I believe they mean Margaritaville at Sea. They operate 2 day Bahamas cruises on rust buckets, Not sure why that was suggested. There are plenty of smaller ships to cruise on but not on mass market cruise lines which I believe is what you mean by mainstream. If you want small ships that are not on older ships past their prime you have to be willing to pay a premium.
  9. Only a certain number of permits are issued for Glacier Bay. I would speculate that could be the reason. You are lucky to be notified this far in advance. Personally I would be unhappy with that change. I would cancel for sure.
  10. Something is wrong with Celebrity’s IT. Captains Club emails that I have been getting for years stopped a few months ago. If I call up I am promised that they will fix it but they haven’t fixed it. They have not resumed. I still get two regular marketing emails a day but Captains Club no longer. Also one marketing email is enough and the motion in the emails is distracting. I had to turn off loading images in all my email because of distracting motion in your emails.
  11. It is not a certainty that M class would fit under the bridge.
  12. We like Paradise Beach because we spend can time on the beach and then move to the very large pool to finish up.
  13. I take an Uber to the port from my pre cruise hotel but I always take a taxi to the FLL airport. They are lined up and ready to go, no looking or waiting for the right car and the fare is about the same because the airport is close.
  14. Manifests get sent to the port countries so some may check criminal databases. (I don’t know if they do) As I understand the US checks the data bases. Seems like checking sex offenders lists is something the cruise lines might be able to do. ( I don’t know if they do).
  15. I walked once but it was short walk. Still somewhat problematic as there is a large amount of traffic. Our second cruise was on HAL. At their terminal we were able to wait inside and do check but had to wait a while to board but we had a seat so it was not bad.
  16. More information in this article. https://bernews.com/2024/07/ministry-of-transport-launches-shorelink-app/
  17. The NJ payment system uses validators that scan a barcode from what I can tell. Here in North Texas we self validate and then show the driver our activated ticket when we board a bus. It will say Activated in large type. You are supposed to activate just before boarding. No scanning. The driver looks at my phone. Activated single ticket is good for two hours, day pass 24 hours. I notice the tickets in the app have to be self activated like on our app but there is a QR code. I don’t know if that has to be scanned. They don’t say. Since they bought it from a British company and is used by some UK bus companies it may work better than NJ Transits app. 😆
  18. Or a fine. A lot of people don’t read what they sign.
  19. The app will take Visa and Master Card. Not Discover or AMEX. The fares are in BMD which is exchanges equal to USD. If you have a credit card that does not charge foreign transaction fees you would want o use that card as those fees could be as high as 3%.
  20. This is brand new so there will be a learning curve and possible glitches. The app has tutorials on how to use it. I noticed that the ticket booklets are available. I wonder if the digital tickets version has an expiration date.
  21. Download from Apple App Store if you use an Apple mobile device or if you have Android from Google Play. https://www.royalgazette.com/transport/news/article/20240708/public-transport-digital-fare-app-now-available-goes-live/
  22. I meant other cruise corporations but some here insist that Carnival, Princess, HAL etc are different companies. I don’t agree but that is what some have insisted in different discussions. As far as that is concerned if cruising Carnival is the cruise contract signed with Carnival Corporation or the Carnival subsidiary?
  23. I think their lawyers would not allow it to be shared.
