I use the internet on cruises to keep up with the news and send some photos to friends and family. Let family know whats happening. Post some photos on that internet social photo platform but I don’t bother with Cruise Critic while on a cruise. I don’t need to disconnect. Before and after yes, Cruise Critic has value but it’s just a time waster while on a cruise. I suppose if I found out some great insight or there was a major incident I might post about it to Cruise Critic.

A taxi will likely cost about $80. GoPort shuttles which are shared ride vans which I used to use before Uber will likely run $30 per person.

I have used Uber and Lyft from many different airports to different cruise terminals and back many times. Always reliable and more reasonable than any other way from the airports and cruise terminals I have used them at but that does not mean that is always the case that Uber or Lyft are the best way.

I would not count on using the bathrooms at St. Regis. If you are going to take the ferry to St. Georges I suggest taking a taxi to Clearwater/Coopers Reserve. There are chair rentals at Clearwater and bathrooms. Another option is Shelly Bay there are now chairs there and bathrooms. Another day pass option now is Willowbank Resort. I have never been and don't know what the beach is like but the day pass should be easy to get. Pompano you have to wait until a few days before and may not be available in season. I have not read any recent success or non susucess. Seems like not many may not be trying to get a day pass there because they have to wait until the relatively last minute.

I downloaded a couple of news sources to read at breakfast. Cruise Critic is not something to waste much time on while on a cruise. Most of it is a waste even when not on a cruise. I might check the roll call. If I post a photo it will be on another social media site. One that has an app that makes it easy. The photos actually get posted in one upload to two sites.

The original poster wrote a review of their sailing which was in September on Liberty of the Seas and they did do the Restless Native excursion. They said they had fun and would recommend it.

St. Georges, Bermuda would love more cruise calls and can handle one R sized ship. There won't be because of geography be building bigger or more berths for ships larger this than Insignia. The solution is to build new smaller ships.

What the companies are doing is making more private ports. Like Royal Caribbean Group buying Costa Maya.

I got my 3 points. Only 2010 to go to get to Zenith….😂

RCL buying Costa Maya/Expanding to Perfect Day
Charles4515 replied to elcuchio24's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Last time I was there ships that were docked at the parallel set of docks to the port to the had no problem but ships docking at the perpendicular docks to the port couldn’t dock. They made a couple of attempts and failed. I watched from the port area an NCL mega ship give up after two attempts. -
They are not likely to make it any easier. At Carnivals private port on Roatan they make it difficult to get a taxi. To get to taxis you have to navigate a road outside the complex. I can envision them making it more difficult to get a taxi to leave the complex or a private excursion to Mayan ruins but the Mexican government might not allow them to make outside access more difficult.

Sounds logical. -
Doubtful. They will want to capture all the revenue so less access is more likely.

I suspect that all or part of the current shops area will remain to be used by other lines but that Royal Caribbean Group will have an exclusive area. -
Barefoot Beach is my favorite but OP did not say there were in suite. If they are in a suite they should go to Bareffoot. I think Columbus Cove is fine. Nellies last time I used it had seaweed on the bottom which annoyed me but also the activity from the Jet Skis and kayaks was a minus.

I never noticed a sharp drop off at Columbus Cove.

I always left the port because the port area was mainly shops selling Chinese products and such. A tourist trap. Always took a taxi into town as there was real Mexican food, shops, and the beaches. There were food/drink places with real Mexican character and the town was very safe. It never felt like Falmouth outside the cruise port area. No one bothered us or tried to sell us drugs. -

I never went to Maya Chan but I did go to one of the other beach clubs. I never liked Costa Maya itself only those local beaches and excursions to Mayan Ruins. My guess is they will take away the local character. The Royal Group needs more locations to dock their gigantic ships so they will further make it a fantasyland for Americans. -

The article says other cruise lines are not out but I wonder if they will still want to call there. -
Labadee beach recommendations
Charles4515 replied to seasidemama's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Columbus Cove has the least waves and rocks. It is close to food It is also the furthest away but you can take the tram. Since they built the dock the layout is reversed from years ago. The tram is not far from where you enter Labadee. Avoid Adrenaline Beach at all costs. -
The Oceanview cafe has a barista.

Columbus Cove or Nellie’s. Loungers are free. Definitely avoid Adrenaline Beach. Optional activities you have to pay for are Zip Line, rent Kayaks, Jet Skis, do the adventure park or the Dragons Coaster.
