  1. The power strip you have the charger plugged into is no good but the charger itself looks good. That is an odd shaped charger. Are there more USB ports on the other side?
  2. What I don’t understand is why people use speakerphone in public. I won’t ask anyone to stop though using their phone or stop blasting music. I ask management to ask them to stop. Too many psychos who get enraged.
  3. USB C can be pretty fast. Depends on your device and charger. They bring extras because they have multiple devices. I can't charge my phone or tablet without a USB port. I use fast chargers. If you have multiple USB ports then you should get a higher watt charger. When I am charging overniight I don't really care about the speed though. When I want a fast top off I use a single port 30 watt fast charger.
  4. I prefer taxis so combining taxis and ferries but there are buses. So combining buses and ferries is a good way to explore. There are transportation passes good on both buses and ferries so you can do a do it yourself hop on and hop off exploration. There are $7 a ride private minibuses that shuttle to Horseshoe Bay. You can rent 2 seat electric mini vehicles to use to explore on your own.
  5. Seems like a lot of people are confused by what an AC outlet is. It is simple, more than one AC outlet is not allowed. USB A or USB C ports are not AC outlets.
  6. There are multi plugs without cords. I have one pluged into one bathroom outlet with 3 AC outlets. That would be prohibited on a cruise ship.
  7. Those claims are worthless. It is a marketing scam.
  8. Your cabin attendant is not likely to be the one who is going to enforce the rules. Where it would be confiscated would be at security if the catch it. Also since the change is only a few days old I expect enforcement to take some time to be consistent.
  9. You don’t even have to put it in the case. I have backpacks with water bottle holders. I attach things to cases with a carabiner clip.
  10. It is not vague. You are complicating it. As BND wrote “No extension cords or multi plugs. Single plug and multi usb are allowed.” It is very simple. I think that some might think it is confusing or complicated because what they have been using which they thought was allowed is now specifically prohibited.
  11. The pods are not real espresso from any brand pod machine. At home I also have one of the Breville Express line of Espresso machines but I use freshly roasted beans.
  12. It is clear. What is banned are multiple AC outlets on a strip or an adapter. Multi plugs. USB ports are not plugs or AC outlets. You may be confused because you don't understand the difference between AC and DC. Your AC voltage is 120 for US and 230 volts for the rest of the world. Your smartphone for example does not run on AC voltage. It runs on lower DC voltage.
  13. They are not running the same way. USB ports convert AC power from one AC outlet to the DC power that devices like smartphones, iPads and laptops use. The ships mains use AC. That block you show with 4 USB ports is not an outlet. It is a charging block.
  14. I have one of those from REI. I always forget how to collapse and uncollapse it. 😂 Hardly ever use it. I take a regular water container on hikes. Regular ones don’t take up that much space. At this point though although I never do checked baggage on a land vacation on a cruise when I start packing the carry on and I never make it, I end up with the checked bag. On Celebrity since I get free bottles of water I don’t worry about water.
  15. I can’t answer that but you can buy small USB fans. I have seen them on sale at Target and Walmart.
  16. Well you asked what people do for drinking water in their cabin. I have drunk the water from the tap in my cabin for over 20 years. If the bathroom tap makes you queasy for some reason then bottled water is probably your best bet. A lot of people seem to prefer bottled water but really there is no good reason to drink it in my cabin. Whether it comes from the machine in the buffet or the bathroom tap all the water on the ship comes from the same supply.
  17. It is the same water on ships. Whether from the bathroom tap or a water fountain. All the water is filtered. If you don’t want that buy bottled water.
  18. I guess buy bottled water. Or drink the tap water. The drinking water from the buffet is the same as the water from the tap in your cabin. You don’t need a jug by your bed. Just a glass. If you don’t want the tap water, which is filtered, then you can buy bottled water. If you desire ice request that from your cabin attendant.
  19. It isn’t prohibited on Celebrity yet but Royal changed their wording last week. Added a few words. It is pretty likely Celebrity will follow suit.
  20. Just because the marketing says for cruise ship travel does not make the marketing true. That power strip would not be allowed according to Royals new wording. Stay away from anything the says power strip. Charging stations with multiple USB A or USB C ports are fine. If there are multiple AC outlets like the one you have been using they would be prohibited.
  21. Post Covid Celebrity halted doing the full retrofits like they did with Summit and planned to do with other ships.
  22. The drinks are free but that does not mean the server does not get a share of the gratuity pool for serving them to us. The servers work as a team and all of them share from the pool. I am sure it is accounted for. The individuals don’t lose out from serving us. The total pool shared may be less but given the number of Elite HH drinks it probably does not amount to much divided up to each server. That said I also tip them. The drink list for Elite is limited but if you ask them they will make suggestions on making cocktails that use ingredients from the allowed list other than straight blah blah.
  23. I agree with Raxter on this one. RCL could have easy stated multi-plug AC outlets, but they didn't. Call it a plug, call it a port, it still outputs electricity. The USB ports use DC not AC. The USB ports are not outlets. That is what you are getting wrong because you don’t understand the difference. Those multiple AC outlets in series on power strips and multi plug are probably what the issue is. The ships mains are wired differently than land mains. The DC USB ports are converted by the charger or a hub to DC from one AC outlet. So they don’t have that issue.
  24. There is only one pool. The only difference between the auto gratuities and beverage gratuities is that we can’t remove the beverage gratuities. If you give the bar server a cash tip whether it is an HH drink or not that is extra from what they will receive from their share of the pool distribution. I try to go to the same venue and use the same servers so additional tips to those servers will usually result in better drinks and service. Or so I imagine. It seems so but it might be my imagination.
