You might have asked “what’s a specialty coffee” when trying to decide between a premium and classic beverage package with Celebrity Cruises.
The distinction matters since specialty coffees are only included in the premium alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage packages. They are not included in their classic beverage package counterparts. Instead, guests on classic packages must pay for specialty coffee à la carte.
All types of coffees are available at Café al Bacio, the onboard coffee shop on Celebrity ships.

Non-Specialty Coffee
The good news is that most of Celebrity Cruises’s non-alcoholic coffees are included in classic alcohol and non-alcohol beverage packages for no additional charge.
Non-specialty coffees includes:
Caffé Americano
Caffé Latte
Caffé Mocha
Capuccino
Caramel Macchiato
Espresso
Espresso Doppio
Espresso Macchiato
White Chocolate Mocha
Those without a beverage package (or a soda or water beverage package) can expect to pay around $4 to $6 per non-specialty coffee.
Specialty Coffee
Celebrity Cruises considers all coffees with alcohol, as well as a few non-alcoholic coffees, to be specialty coffees.
Non-alcoholic specialty coffees include:
Affogato
Caffé Shakerato (chilled)
Espresso al Frutti di Bosco
Espresso Croccante
Espresso Caraibico
Espresso Melba
Ice Bianco Espresso
IGLU (Caffe Frappè)
Expect to pay around $6 to $8 for these non-alcoholic coffees outside of a premium beverage package.
Alcoholic specialty coffees include:
Amore (with Amaretto)
Aspen Coffee (with Baileys, Kahlúa, and Frangelico)
Café Diablo (with Courvoisier VS, Grand Marnier, and Sambuca)
Café Kingston (with Tia Maria and Myer’s Dark Rum)
Café Olé (with Courvoisier, Grand Marnier)
French Kiss (Courvoisier and Grand Marnier)
Venetian (with Frangelico and brandy)
While the premium alcoholic beverage package includes both the non-alcoholic and alcoholic specialty coffees, the premium non-alcoholic beverage package only includes the non-alcoholic specialty coffees.
Expect to pay around $10 for alcoholic coffees without a premium alcoholic beverage package.
Do You Need a Premium Beverage Package for Coffee?
If your coffee intake is largely limited to espresso-based drinks like cappuccinos without too many fancy add-ins, a classic beverage package should be more than sufficient if you don’t want to pay-as-you-go.
If you like fancy coffee concoctions, but don’t care for added alcohol, the premium non-alcoholic beverage package might make sense…especially if you also plan to partake in the smoothies and premium bottled water included with the package.
And if you enjoy alcohol, and consuming it with alcohol, the premium alcoholic beverage package is worth further investigation.
