  1. Im still having problems accessing my reservation using safari on my ipad but on same ipad using Chrome, i have no issues
  2. I cannot search on their website page using two different ipads. I keep getting repeated error. But i have no problems using my macbookpro and iphone
  3. I just checked and mine is showing the mariner rate
  4. Well so far i have received and took advantage of an Azamara offer on a suite for less than an interior (i had never sailed Azamara before). I also got a Free Celebrity 7 day cruise for two in a balcony from their casino promo. I had sailed celebrity before but had never spent a cent in their casino. So there are special offers floating around , now i will hope for an email from HAL.
  5. When you say the confirmation document is a secured document, what Secure method did your agent use to communicate the document to you? On my current booking, the only identifying information on the booking confirmation is my full name and mariner number. I receive it through regular email which is definitely not Secure
  6. When did you make the reservation and how much of a deposit did you pay at time of booking. Im confused that your cut and paste says. Deposit due date 7 oct 2022 and final payment due date 7 oct 2022. Did you not make a deposit when booking. Can you post a copy of the actual booking confirmation you received at time of booking ( with personal info blacked out of course) That may answer some questions.
  7. Where in my post did you determine i called the TA within 20 minutes of seeing the cabin on royal site. I gather you are a TA or was. On another occasion a few friends were planning a south pacific cruise and the agent in B.C. Had a list of cabins we could choose from in their inventory of held cabins. Maybe your experience has been different than mine
  8. Well not to be argumentative, but in the two incidents I am talking about, i went on the Royal site and found the cabin i wanted and it was still available . I then called a travel agent to book that cabin through them. Agent said that the cabin was not available and gave me a list of same category cabins she could sell me. I declined and then called a Royal cruise consultant and booked the cabinI originally found and that the TA said was not available. I later did receive a call from the TA to see if i was still interested in booking. I explained what I did and she said that cabin was not in her inventory.
  9. The Canadian TAs i contacted had a number of cabins they said pre purchased for their prospective customers and they sell those first. If not solD by a specific date before the cruise date , they are returned to the cruise line inventory of available cabins. Actually ive had several Travel agents tell me the same thing. So if it is not true, then i was just misinformed.
  10. Ive had the opposite experience, but I’ve been told that U.S. travel agents are more generous with goodies than Canadian TAs. When i first started cruising i tried twice to us a TA. On both occasions i had researched available cabins but both TAs said the cabins were not available. Later found out that they were available , just not in that TAs inventory and the wanted to sell their inventory before offering me my choice. Since then I have always booked direct with cruise line consultant…. Have nit had any problem getting in touch for-any changes. This is just myexperience
  11. One suggestion for any future cruise critiques you may choose to do. Always post on the cruise line forum you have something positive to say about and not on the forum you are being negative toward. And BTW, I’ve cruised on both Celebrity and HAL and while both have their plusses and minuses, I’ve never encountered what you say you experienced on Celebrity. I wish you happy cruising in the future
  12. Just wondering what happens if All guests choosing MTD request a window table? Maybe not getting a window table every night allows other paying guests the opportunity…..
  13. As a retired canadian law enforcement, they have always given me the rate when it is available. Since 2012.
  14. If you go to your Roll Call it is thoroughly discussed starting at page 120
  15. @The-Inside-Cabinhas a meeting place on ship for guests who enjoy wearing Tuxes. He refers to it as “Tuxedo Junction”.
  16. The ArriveCan policy is a pain and should be done away with. Im fully vaccinated but at some point we have to declare these pandemic travel restrictions over. It is like a flu now and will be around for a long tome, requiring periodic boosters. We have to start living.
  17. Is the price drop per person or total for cabin. Either way you will still be ahead monewise by asking for the price drop
  18. Make it a stress free cruise and downgrade now. Dont run the risk of not being able to after final payment
  19. We are same age as you and like you have several Royal Caribbean and Celebrity as well as Azamara. We did HAL to Alaska and loved it. Quieter than Royal but the service was excellent, Loved their piano bar and always found lots to do on the ship. Being an Alaska cruise we were not looking for late night entertainment as the days were very busy. I think you will enjoy Hal . We did
  20. From their website: Fully vaccinated means that a guest received all the doses in an authorized or approved primary COVID-19 vaccine series at least 14 days prior to embarkation. by this definition you are fully vacvinated
  21. Actually, that decision of when to have a pd day is not controlled by the teachers. It is the decided by the respective board and teachers have no say in it, FYI
  22. When doing a mock booking how do you know if it is a non refundable deposit and how do you choose a refundable deposit fare?
  23. I interpreted that the OP was talking about “Roundtrip” longer cruises that would leave and go abroad and then return to the same US port. I see lots of longer cruises from US ports terminating at a port other than the commencement port, But no Roundtrips other than the standard Caribbean.
  24. Actually it is the opposite , gulf of maine water although cold, is slightly warmer than East Coast Canada water . You are correct in that the (slightly) warmer water of the gulf of maine produces a sweeter and more tender meat. Also Canadian lobster are somewhat larger. Incidentally, I like both lobster. ,Maine lobsters have softer shells that make their meat tenderer and sweeter. Canadian lobsters have harder shells, which cause their meat to be less tender and sweet. However, Canadian lobsters can survive up to 72 hours while Maine lobsters can only survive up to 48 hours.
