  1. Thanks for the response. Unfortunately logging off does not solve the issue that if I want to text my wife, she would get a notification, like a ping. This is also a flaw to Royal Caribbean's messaging app, which is probably the same for Celebrity.
  2. Anyone know how the minutes are counted? I am thinking my wife could use it just for texting me. Would each text count as a minute?
  3. I am working with a travel agent. No problem getting the additional $100 OBC.
  4. Looking at the deck plan, the Prime Ocean View cabins are larger. 7002 and 7003 are probable the larges OV cabins on the ship, not counting the handicapped cabins that I did not consider.
  5. This is a cool website. You have to be a member to see the pics. But is there is a video linked, it is free.
  6. We are in cabin 7002 on the same cruise. Really looking forward to the cruise and the larger cabin.
  7. We booked a cruise only fare. I don't drink alcohol and I am happy with 1 soda a day. My wife is a very modest drinker and will probably be happy with the happy hour drinks.
  8. I was looking at the Amex Platinum benefits. Can the cruise be booked through any travel agency or do you specifically need to book it through Amex?
  9. My daughter and I are planning a cruise. We both want the Wifi package with streaming. Can I get one package with 2 devices for us? I guess it would be in my name only. It is significantly cheaper than getting two 1-device packages, basically one for her and one for me.
  10. Just to clarify, Royal Caribbean and Celebrity make is much easier to deal with dietary restrictions compared to a land based vacation. For instance, we went to VA Beach last summer. I spent over an hour calling restaurants to see if they could accommodate her. The big issue, most of the restaurants used fries coated with wheat.
  11. My daughter's diet is gluten free, dairy free, and soy free. We have found that Royal Caribbean and Celebrity makes it much easier to deal with her dietary restrictions. And dietary restrictions are so common now, it is even easier to deal with. In the MDR, talk to your Head Waiter the first night. You can go over the next nights menu and special order food. You can get simple substitutions like swapping rice for mashed potatoes, or have them cook something completely different. There is now a full time chef on board who only deals with special requests. Another note: anyone can special order food. On Beef Stroganoff/tuna night, I have been ordering fried shrimp or fish because nothing on there looks that appealing. In the Windjammer, there will be a chef/supervisor nearby who can answer all your questions. This is much improved, where before, they frequently had to go find a chef to answer questions. The biggest issues at a self serve buffet is that other diners will contaminate food.
  12. I have not sailed on Celebrity in a long time, but have on Royal Caribbean. Will Celebrity have sales on shore excursions and wife packages? We purchased a no perks fare, so none of that is included in our fare.
  13. For Diamond level, the internet benefit is 1 free day or a $25.99 credit for a package. Can this be applied to a pre-purchased internet package? You can frequently get a discount if you purchase an internet package prior to sailing.
  14. I believe the answer is yes, if your kids are diamond plus also. I called Royal Caribbean about the drink coupons. I will be diamond. My daughter, age 23, is not. She will not get any diamond benefits. But I can use my drink coupons on her.
  15. I was able to have my cruise repriced and got the $400 OBC. One odd thing: the travel insurance is also through Celebrity, and that went up $10. The fare was $2 less than what I booked. So I own Celebrity another $8.
