  1. I also booked a Celebrity cruise while on Royal Caribbean. They printed out the Celebrity Next Cruise perks. Other than that, the process is exactly the same.
  2. Just to be clear, I am saying there could have been additional cuts due only being 75% of capacity. I know each ship tracks the revenue and expenditure real time for each cruise so they can make adjustments.
  3. Thanks for the great reports from the Constellation. We are sailing on her in April on a transatlantic. We last sailed Celebrity in 2009 on the Celebrity Mercury. I do have one quick thought: per the figures provided, this ship was about 75% full. It is possible some of the cutbacks are a result of not being closer to full capacity. But it is perplexing that prime rib and beef tenderloin was not on the dinner menus since they are on Royal Caribbean menus and Celebrity is supposed to be more upscale.
  4. On the Celebrity website, if you purchase shore excursions, drink packages, etc. for an upcoming cruise, are the purchases refundable? I know on Royal Caribbean they are refundable, so if the price drops, you can cancel and repurchase. But I wanted to verify for Celebrity before making any purchases.
  5. Minor tweaks they can usually accommodate. You can probably ask for shrimp only. I highly doubt the seafood is premixed into the sauce. It would get over cooked. I also ask for vegetables from the other entrees, or order a second entree with no starch. If you want a major change, you can special order a meal the day/night before. You can even order items not on the menu and they will try to accommodate. I have pre-ordered fried shrimp or a fish dish from another night on tuna/beef stroganoff night.
  6. I have done the request twice, both time by email. I received the OBC pretty quick (maybe a couple of days). The first time, there was no correspondence. The second time, they sent emails stating I was getting the OBC, one for each cruise. If you don't hear anything in a day or two, try emailing them. It can't hurt.
  7. If you reprice your cruise, they will reprice it at the current rates with the current OBC offer. The one caveat: sometimes part of the OBC are only available for new bookings, so definitely ask before repricing it.
  8. My wife and I just made Diamond. We are most looking forward to the free drinks. I get 1 free drink a day and my wife gets 7. Sounds pretty fair.
  9. My wife and I are celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary on this cruise.
  10. I believe if you can book a category XB cabin, you have a guaranteed Ocean View balcony. Category XN is guaranteed neighborhood balcony. I just checked a random Oasis cruise, and XB was about $500 more per person for a 7 day cruise. Please verify this before committing any money.
  11. I got my cabin assignment today. 25 days before sailing. It looks like a fine cabin. Cabins above and below us, which is great for less noise. It showed up on the set sail pass first. Then it was in the app shortly after that. We book through an online travel agent.
  12. My wife and I have just reach Diamond. I believe the free day of internet can also be used for a discount off an internet package on the ship. Since my wife does not want internet service, can I use both discounts on one internet package?
  13. I assumed all of the bridge crew have cabins right behind the bridge.
  14. Does anyone know the on board price for basic wifi for 1 device? And does Royal Caribbean sometime offer wifi discounts later in the cruise? Cruise planner currently has it at $17.99 per day. I am newly Diamond and I am thinking I could wifi service/package in the middle of the cruise.
  15. The Group booking part is with the Travel Agency. They get lower rates on some cabins or sailings using Group bookings. In those cases, a regular Royal Caribbean rep cannot see your details and will refer you either to your Travel Agent or a group bookings specialist with Royal Caribbean. My experience is that getting a group booking rate from a travel agency is the cheapest way to cruise.
  16. I was finally able to check in. I got my SetSail pass. Tranferred it to Apple Wallet. And my cabin number is GTY.
  17. Suppose I make a purchase and use OBC on Cruise Planner. The price later drops. I can cancel the purchase and repurchase at the lower rate. Will the OBC from the cancellation be immediately available for the repurchase?
  18. I have a guaranteed balcony. I have been checking daily for a cabin assignment. Check in is this Thursday. If I don't have an assignment by then, I will try the bar code trick. Does anyone know the cabin number in the barcode, is that final or still subject to change?
  19. I have submitted twice for the Shareholder Benefit. The first time was all Royal Caribbean cruises. The second time had 1 Celebrity cruise and more Royal Caribbean cruises. The first time, in January 2022, I did not receive any email confirmation. I did process quickly and on Cruise Planner, my OBC increased. The second time, it also processed quickly. I received a confirmation email for each cruise. And the OBC on Cruise Planner went up right away. Both time, I sent a PDF of my statement from my on-line account. I did not bother to black out any of the sensitive information. And I sent it to the email address.
  20. OBC from Royal Caribbean and Shareholder Benefit will show up in Cruise Planner.
  21. My daughter is gluten-free, dairy-free, and soy free. In the past, the head waiter will note all her dietary restrictions and we can special order for the next day, including breakfast and lunch. We always thought cruising was far easier accommodating her dietary restrictions than any other type of vacation. It has been a while since we cruised with her, but from what I can tell, Royal Caribbean is more accommodating than before. In the MDR, there is now a dedicated chef who works on all the special orders, at least on the cruises we asked. In the Windjammer, there is a knowledge person available to answer any and all questions about the food. We used to have to ask and wait for a chef to show up to ask. Cross contamination is always an issue. And it will return with people serving themselves in the Windjammer. One person mentioned they will take out a fresh batch of food upon request. That is awesome.
  22. I have no idea if this is relevant. I was making a cruise planner purchase. It would not go through on my laptop. I tried two different browsers. On my cell phone, it went right through. My recommendation: try a different browser or device.
  23. Here is the link to Royal Caribbean's FAQ: https://www.royalcaribbean.com/faq/questions/food-drink-onboard-policy If specifically states that alcohol over the 2 bottles, bought in port, or on board will be stored for you and given back on the last day on board. It is silent on soda bought in port. My impression, both from reading this and from my experience bringing soda and water on board on embarkation day, they are much more concerned about alcohol.
  24. On Royal Caribbean's website, I only found a response in the FAQ section. Technically, it does not say you can't bring more soda on board at the ports. It is silent on that.
