  1. I was born in Greenwich. That's why I'm never late for anything. On the north side of the foot tunnel on the Isle of dogs is the famous view of the Royal Hospital in Greenwich captured by Canelletto in his well known painting.

An old friend of mine who was a doorman at the Savoy and then the Dorchester was a Gentleman Host who worked for Silversea. Ted Whitcombe was his name and he was a great dancer but an even better doorman. Very professional.
  4. I'm available for tours of Greenwich and a trip on the Woolwich ferry don't forget 😁
  5. When cruise lines please everyone then I'll take land based holidays.
  6. Give it a few months and you won't be able to tell the difference between any of them.
  7. Jeans, now the dress code has been discontinued.😁
  8. They are everywhere on land 😁
  9. Very soon the Woolwich ferry will have a better dress code than any or these so called luxury lines
  10. Seabourn just announced new dress code from Jan 4th 2023
  11. Never book a gaurantee unless you don't mind having the lowest category suite on the ship. You might get what you paid for.
  12. The key words for me are. "For those who wish to dine in our other venues, (Not the MDR on formal evenings) We invite you to dress in your favourite elegant casual styles." I think this gives you cart blanche to wear whatever you want. Beverly Hillbillies anyone?
  13. Josh Leibowitz is hoping to get as many people on a Seabourn ship as possible. He is running a business and wants to make a success of it. Who knows where this will lead in the near future but if it means getting a dog and bringing it on board to get an extra booking at TK Grill then that's what we'll do.
  14. Markham,I couldn't agree more about the entertainment vibe on SS v Seabs The only thing that I thought was better on my Moon trip was the pianist and singer duo in the supper club restaurant. I didn't care for the food offerings but sitting with a drink after dinner elsewhere was highly enjoyable. Our own TA Markham has booked himself on two Silversea cruises for next year. That tells us something surely.😉 I am landbased this Christmas but away and have booked Encore for next Christmas.
  15. Hi DW gunaydindubai dot com This offers great food and I have eaten here many times, once in the last month. I get an outside table at 19.15 and you get a great view of the lightshow on the Burj Al kaleifa and the dancing water fountains. They also have another branch on Bluewaters island near to Ceasars Palace Hotel but go to the souk/Marina area restaurant. I also recommend a sky dive from Bluewaters island and you get the most fantastic view above the palm.
  16. That's fine as they were following the dress code.
  17. Just because the dress code has dropped to lower than a Dachshunds belly, it doesn't mean that you have to dress to below your own standards. You can never be overdressed on a ship but you can be woefully underdressed after 18.00 Hrs anywhere at sea. From my observations,Silversea and the newer fleet does fit the Seabourn clientele and many are now moving in that direction.
  18. Thankfully you and Keith had corks on your hats to bring some sort of stability to the ensemble.
