  1. Kat, that would be the perfect social coordinator job for you! Good thumb up the nose for young mister too
  2. Alaska is normally pretty casual
  3. Les is doing ok, still no vision in the eye. This is his reading eye & we’re hoping reading glasses will help. His post op is this Wednesday. I have a ct scan to map the shoulder tomorrow. Then nothing (hopefully!) until 10 April (his gall bladder surgery) & 17 April (my shoulder replacement surgery). His 75th bday is 16 April. Thanks everyone for the concern & comments. It’s greatly appreciated. Melody
  4. Oh Lois! First of all, happy bday. Sincere condolences to your sister. I’m sure she’d be grateful if you could be with her.
  5. Kat, hope BK has to do everything on his own. I’d believe he’ll not be back next year & the owners will be clamoring for you! Most snow we’ve had here in town since 1998. Melody
  6. Good snowstorm yesterday & today 10” yesterday & 12” already today (it 0530 in morning). 30 minutes west of us they had 3 ft yesterday & already 2 additional Ft last night. Biggest storm here in town since 1998. We’re just grateful our daughter shoveled us out yesterday & she’s coming back this afternoon. Very happy we didn’t have any appts yesterday or today pictures taken from our second story looking down into the yard. Melody
  7. Comfy to walk out on deck,, soft & warm
  8. No clue on how it happened. He had retinal tears in his other eye back in 2006. They said then that he could get them in the other eye
  9. Detached retina surgery went well, will have more news tomorrow at postop. Les is understandably tired & despises the pirate patch. Melody
  10. W just got home from the detached retina surgery., he’s resting in his recliner. His gall bladder surgery has been postponed to 10 April (right now my shoulder is scheduled for 8 Apr
  11. I’d pack a hooded waterproof jacket, hat & gloves & at least a pair of silk long Johns. I’d maybe put a pair of shirts &tshirt. Definitely some yoga pants & a sweater
  12. Thanks Lois, this was pretty much a mule kick! Definitely not expected, no warning
  13. Les’s gall bladder surgery has been postponed to 10 April because he managed to detach a retina over the weekend (no clue how). His retina surgery will be tomorrow at 7am. This is really serious surgery. I’m pretty much spinning in circles!! Melody
  14. Well crazy day. Les’s gall bladder surgery has been pushed to 10 April as first surgery. Reason, Les developed a detached retina over the weekend & is having surgery for that tomorrow morning at 7am. The eye is very serious. I’m pretty much spinning. Melody
  15. Only Ft Lauderdale & Miami participate. Seattle has a different service
  16. Not normally offered on transatlantic voyages due to extra customs clearing
  17. We were on the 4-night Silhouette & the following 10-night Silhouette. Luggage Valet wasn’t offered for the 4-night but was offered on the 10-night. We took advantage of the service, $29pp, 2 bags pp allowed, no airline fees as we flew first class. I’m so glad this service has been reinstated, I had a nasty fall & lugging luggage would’ve been near to impossible.
  18. We just got off, the shampoo was in (Bigelow) in large squirt containers, not wall mounted. Dryer was a handheld in a drawer
