  1. And I answered my own question. The flash deal is not combinable with Captain's Club. I need to remember to check CruiseCritic on a regular basis!
  2. Has anyone been able to get the Captain's Club loyalty discount on top of this?
  3. We were recently on the Splendor and were quite surprised to see a young man wearing a t-shirt at dinner. It was the kind of shirt with branding or a saying. He was seated with his party when we noticed what he was wearing. No one at Compass Rose seemed to notice.
  4. Thank you, I did and will make sure we have some over-the-counter supplies. Our family members are already touring Iceland, so I shared your post and offered to pick up some more supplies.
  5. I have enjoyed following your adventure. We are on the next cruise, and I was planning to ask if Regent offered any post-cruise tours with airport dropoff for those of us flying home from Reykjavik in the late afternoon. Can you share any tour details?
  6. Thank you all - I will load a vpn, and then beg out of any meetings, although I really hate to be totally disconnected
  7. I have a question for anyone on the Splendor now. How is the Internet? We will be on the ship later this month and I may have to attend some virtual work meetings while on the cruise. Is the included Internet access enough?
  8. Thank you, that will work. I just found it surprising that the ship name and sail date aren't on the tags. With our handwriting getting more and more unreadable due to lack of use, this is a great solution
  9. We will be on our first Regent cruise next month and just received the tags. My objection to the paper luggage tags is that they have so little pre-printed information, just the deck number, not the sailing date, nor the cabin number, just the deck number. Why even bother to mail these out? And our other objection, the envelope was only addressed to my husband, not to both of us.
  10. We were on a tour last year that sounded as if they were going to drop us off in Vancouver and then we would somehow have to get to the airport. I wouldn't have minded that too much, there were 3 adults traveling together. In our case the description was lacking some information, there was no city drop off, we were taken to the airport. In fact the luggage was loaded onto the bus based on whether or not people were on domestic or International flights. It was a cold, rainy day and we were happy not to be lugging luggage around Vancouver. I can't remember the title of the excursion, it took us on the Sea to Sky Highway, and we took the Sea to Sky Gondola to what would have been a very nice view, but it was foggy and raining that day.
  11. I thought that the canned water was OK for taking off the ship, but prefer something much nicer with meals. Every time the drink package question comes up, few seem to remember that the premium waters and all of the smoothies and fresh pressed juices in the Aqua Spa Cafe are only included in the premium package.
  12. Please remember that the premium package also includes smoothies from the Aqua Spa and more expensive bottled water such as Perrier and San Pellegrino.
  13. I am insecure enough that I keep checking the tsa website - Global Entry is on the list: https://www.tsa.gov/travel/security-screening/identification
  14. The TSA issues the Global Entry card and they are the ones requiring Real ID, I wonder if he had a new person at security, someone who didn't know any better. I always show my Global Entry card when going through airport security. The only place I have had no luck with using my Global Entry instead of my non-Real ID driver's license is in Pennsylvania grocery stores when buying beer or wine. They only accept a driver's license. I don't yet have a Real ID license because Pennsylvania charges $30 extra for the enhanced license, not sure if every other state allows people to still renew their licenses without requiring Real ID.
  15. Global Entry is also a Real ID, it is easier than carrying a passport for domestic flights. But for a cruise that goes anywhere outside of the U.S., I would still want to have my passport just in case.
  16. We needed ArriveCAN twice in June, once to fly to Vancouver and the second time to board the rt Vancouver cruise. I remember that it did make sense once we were in Vancouver, the second Arrive CAN is to allow you to return to Vancouver at the end of the cruise. And for the second ArriveCAN, the option was for Marine (or something like that), the 72 hour time frame is for the start of your trip, not within 72 hours of returning to Canada.
  17. Sea to Sky Experience and Shannon Falls with Airport Transfer - other shore excursions said airport dropoff, or some such wording. I wasn't sure if we would be dropped at the airport, or would receive some kind of voucher.
  18. We did that excursion earlier this month. The description doesn't say "airport dropoff", but that is exactly what happened. When we disembarked the ship, we did so as a group, picked up our luggage which was put on the tour bus. Our luggage stayed on the bus the entire time, and was separated between those on International flights (to the U.S., etc.) and those flying to other Canadian cities. There were two stops at the airport, International and domestic for us to get off with our luggage. The two terminals are connected and quite close together. We were traveling with a friend who was flying directly to the U.S., while we we had a stop in Toronto before flying home. After our respective dropoffs, we ended up meeting in the middle of the airport to kill time and get something to eat since our flights were much later. We had a very good bus driver/guide and enjoyed this shore excursion. The weather was miserable, relatively cold and rainy. We had spent two days in Vancouver pre-cruise, so this excursion gave us the opportunity for some site-seeing outside of Vancouver and made transferring to the airport very easy.
  19. I was told by my room steward that it was required, we didn't spend time in the casino, there were few masks in the theatre.
  20. We were on Eclipse last week, and it was self-serve - I was more than a bit disappointed. The ship wasn't full, and there was less crowding at the buffet.
  21. I think it is luck whether or not the luggage tags show up. We are traveling with a friend- I initially made the reservations onboard almost 3 years ago. The reservations have the same TA, final payment was made the same day, checkin was done the same day, yet one cabin received edocs and luggage tags and the other cabin did not. I purchased the luggage tag holders from Amazon and will have 6 pieces of luggage delivered to the cabin next door to ours. With 3 ships in port tomorrow in Vancouver I expect the line for luggage tags to be quite long.
  22. We are cruising in 2 days, have called Celebrity twice, was promised luggage tags at 14 days and then at 7 days, still no edocs and no luggage tags. Fortunately we are traveling with a friend who is in the next cabin. I just printed up enough of his luggage tags for all of us and will have everything sent to his cabin. We don’t want to stand in an extra line in Vancouver to have a porter send our bags to another ship.
  23. I discovered my problem, I needed to be connected to WiFi, it didn’t work for me using my data plan.
  24. Is anyone else having a problem with the app? Yesterday the Celebrity app was on my list of upgraded apps, so I upgraded it and now I am unable to log in. I assume I will have to uninstall and reinstall the app eventually- but we are sailing on the Eclipse on Sunday and on this newest version of the app, the Eclipse is not listed as a ship that is supported.
