  1. Per person. This should show on your confirmation (scroll down) as Pinnacle Grill 2@for passenger 1 and for passenger 2 and Canaletto 1@ for passenger 1 and for passenger 2. Here is what mine looks like for a 35-day cruise on a ship with a Tamarind restaurant. The footnotes read: 2: 1 Night Pinnacle Grill Dinner, reservations and dining times are available to pre-reserve or may be booked onboard. 3: 1 Night Canaletto Dinner, reservations and dining times are available to pre-reserve or may be booked onboard. 4: 1 Night Tamarind Dinner, reservations and dining times are available to pre-reserve or may be booked onboard
  2. I have read people with better tastes in wine than me, saying they will wait to buy until on board, because the wines in stock will be different than might be listed on the website (if you can even find them). Also if you have fixed seating or a favorite bar, the beverage steward or bartender will get some credit for selling a package.
  3. Yes, you can take unopened bottles home. The terms are: "You can customize your own personal wine package from one of the three lists that have been thoughtfully curated by our wine experts. Select 4, 6 or 8 bottles from CELLAR Nº 1, CELLAR Nº 2 or CELLAR Nº 3. Your wines will be available to enjoy with your meals or delivered directly to your stateroom. Any unopened bottles can be taken home at the end of your cruise. Cheers, here’s to a great journey." AND: " FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE, YOU CAN ORDER YOUR SOMMELIER SUITE PACKAGES FROM ANY MEMBER OF OUR BEVERAGE TEAM. Additional 3-Star and above Mariner Loyalty discounts apply. Please note that packages are nontransferable and may not me consumed in public bars and lounges. An 18% service charge is applied to all beverage purchases. Local sales taxes are applied as required in territorial waters."
  4. Why not just look for a Mediterranean cruise with similar ports? if you don't cross the ocean, it's really not a TransAtlantic, is it? Our first TA was Florida to Europe and was sold as two legs (FLL to BCN, and Barcelona to Venice) or as one 26 day cruise.
  5. The total Mariner points possible is indeed 3x the actual days. Suite bonus is again as many points as days. The suite has to be booked at list rate and not through an upgrade/upsell offer to give the double points. Spending bonus is an additional point, for the first two passengers in the cabin, for each $300 on the 'folio'. Pre-pandemic, the total value of the drinks in the SBP were enough to give that total (with the odd ShoreX thrown in anyway). I have not sailed with HIA, but reports are coming in that it also gives spending bonus... although I fear it might not as it is presented as an alternate FARE and not additional folio charges. The Spending Bonus Points are capped at the number of actual days. So in a "full price" suite and high-spending, can get you 3x the days of your cruise.
  6. The magnifying mirrors are mounted on the side of the desk in main cabin, not bathroom.
  7. I'm sure your concierge would be happy to show you!
  8. I believe it's weekly maintenance as I have the same experience, @mightycruisequeen.
  9. My #1 rule for 3-1-1 bag is -- nothing that is NOT liquid or paste, goes in it. I have a second "dry" bag or a gallon bag that I share with my husband's things. Second, what someone said above: the 3oz/100ml is an UPPER limit, not a requirement. I have gotoobs or the other brand in 1 and 2oz sizes and a box full of 3oz containers I no longer use! I have several small (not as small as contact-lens cases) containers for things I do not need even 1 oz of, like A&D cream and heavyduty hand balm for sebhorrea outbreaks.
  10. However my husband IS a morning person and I might stick with Starboard -- and sleep in!
  11. The drink stewards like to call SBP/HIA "all day happy hour".
  12. I could not find an actual map on the Carnival site. Here is a representation (from HAL) of a cruise with those ports in that order. You have one sea-day going to Cabo, three port days in a row, then two sea-days PV to SD. With a starboard balcony, you will have afternoon sun on the one day and morning sun on the two-day run. Note (1) the ship doesn't necessarily follow the teal line exactly (!) and (2) I have not (yet) visited these ports on a short trip like this although we did visit PV and Cabo coming north from a Panama Canal transit. So I can't really comment on the docking orientation (Cabo is a tender port for one thing). I personally would opt for a port-side balcony, but I am not a morning person!
  13. Hi Carolyn! What is the date and port order of your itinerary?
  14. Recent reports are half-off drinks in one bar or another, and yes, daily! Previously it was what you said with the second drink having to be the exact same beverage (what we experienced in 2015, which was the last time we cruised without SBP).
  15. While Ray is right about short vs. long cruises (on any line), HAL to Alaska will not be a "party cruise". HAL does Alaska very well, and it should give you a nice feel for the service and amenities Holland America and her crew will provide. I forgot to say the attitude of the crew (or should I say staff? I never know!) on RCI vs HAL were what made the experiences quite similar.
  16. "Call the Mariner Society at 1‐800‐547‐9139 (outside of the U.S. call 206-626-7359ext. 8353), or fill out the form below." I suppose this is a reminder for everyone to keep the final statement? Is there still such a thing? But, give them a call on Monday and see if THEY can see the missing data without you having to "prove" it.
  17. It's only been Premium Internet available for pre-purchase since at least 2018. The pre-purchase price for Premium is only a little more than Surf on board. There are 4-, 6-, and 8-bottle Sommelier Packages (in three levels of price) available for sale after you have a booking. Look under "Cruise Activities"/Beverages. I do not know if there is any discount for pre-purchase. I think you pay full price and the 4-star discount is credited to your account on board -- but someone will be along to confirm that.
  18. Oh hey! If you mean you are on the K'dam Sea of Cortez THIS NYE, here is the Roll Call: I think only the PG is 'special' for NYE -- you cannot pre-book it on the website, but Canaletto/Tamarind/Rudi's, you can. Lobster is not attractive to us, so I'm leaning toward Tamarind. Probably won't pre-book it, but use share-holder OBC on boarding.
  19. We have one cruise on Rhapsody of the Seas and seven on HAL. We found RCI more like HAL than "different". But there were differences, sure. RCI much more activites in the Attrium, mostly with music as I recall. High-loyalty members MUCH more cohesive and fancy when they would go to their private cocktail parties. No Crows Nest which we missed from HAL (Crows Nest AKA Exploration Cafe is a large lounge at the front of the ship on a high deck, basically 180-degree views. We have one sailing on the Eurodam's sister ship, Nieuw Amsterdam. I believe it to be my husband's favorite ship so far! You may miss production shows (we don't). We enjoy the classical music on all HAL ships (performing in the Lincoln Center Stage on Eurodam). Billboard Onboard is two pianos playing pop hits, and the Queen's Lounge will become BBKings Blues Club in the evenings. There used to be a little combo in the Ocean Bar pre-dinner but that may have been discontinued...
  20. Just a coincidence that it is Thanksgiving; it is Gala night because a seaday.
  21. We'll be in Cabo on the K'dam for NYE, which is also our 32nd Anniversary. Thinking about MDR (will there be festive items?) or Tamarind (will there be an additional upcharge, like Pinnacle Gala?)... Anyone done Holidays at sea?
  22. Welcome to posting on Cruise Critic! Enchantment of the Seas is indeed a Royal Caribbean and not Norwegian ship. Their board is here: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/51-royal-caribbean-international/ Milk on at least longer cruises is apt to be Parmalat or other ultra-pasteurized product and probably not "organic". I have only sailed once on RCI and don't follow the board. But taking a blender question does come up on threads I have read (other cruise lines) and the answer is always NO. Baby food and formula commonly are allowed exceeding the normal limits of liquids in carryon luggage only.
