  1. I'm surprised....they had tons of things that were mushroom, avocado, etc. based.
  2. And also how long is your cruse. We had a lot more on the TA than on shorter cruises.
  3. On our last cruise we never got off. I was perfectly content by the pool or in my hammock with a book. If there was stuff on the schedule that I wanted to do, fine. If not, chill out time. And chilling out on an almost empty ship is nice.
  4. Other than the Med cruises this summer, most VV sailings are nearing the max capacity they currently want to book. That's not 2700 cruisers, but it is well over 2000. THey have just begun offering "no single supplements" in the Med this summer.
  5. No, but I've had a lot of experience with getting different answers from VV depending on who you talk to. My experience from other cruise lines has been that the cruiser is responsible for determining visa needs and obtaining them. The only exception I've encountered to this was in Russia where there were visas that were part of guided excursions and a different type of visa to be there on your own (which was much more costly)....but they topped it off with a rule that you couldn't go off on your own, My suggestion would be that you go to the government web site of the locations you will be visiting and/or where your cruise will be terminating and see what they say. You will likely find a chart listing various citizenships and what is required for each.
  6. No word of any food item changes, but there are 6 entertainers being brought on board for the crossing according to the schedule on the app. These are things like a comedian, a mentalist, etc. In a cruise group someone looked them up and posted links to their websites. NSA has been replaced by MisBehavin', I believe....not sure what of the other evening shows might be different. As to "special," several outlets in The Galley had "specials" on many sea days. These were available in the burger, salad, and noodle place, and possibly others. The special in the burger place often were not burgers. These did not show up on any menu and the servers did not tell us about them. We started walking around the outlets looking for specials before deciding whether to do lunch at The Galley or brunch at one of the restaurants.
  7. We "cheated," There was an event called "Magic with the Charmer" or something similar in Sip, so we went down. They told us that there were two seating areas, one for the people who had purchased the high tea and one for anyone else. We sat in the "anyone else...and one of the guys went to The Galley and got an assortment of tea bags and cups of hot water from Grounds Club. We had a lovely afternoon making new friends, seeing the magic, etc....all at no cost.
  8. It just became less of a good deal. They are removing the single supplement, but also removing the $1200 "airfare credit." In most cases, you will still come out ahead.
  9. It is totally possible. There is a limit to the number of people you can put on one reservation thru the app (I think it is 10), but is is also possible for two members of your group to make reservations and then "join" them when you are on board. You will need to link your group members as friends on the app. It is also possible to add cruisers to your party without naming them. Bottom line, if you need to join 2 or more groups after boarding, start by getting seating for all the people as close as possible to the same time using the app in advance, Once on board, go to the restaurant and let them know that you are a group and want to be seated together. They will make it work for you.
  10. There is a little sign in a frame at each table. At the top of the frame is a thing that looks like a flag which can be raised, indicating that you want service. It is only about 5 inches high, not like waving around a large flag. It is solid, so nothing moves. When the server comes over and takes your order, they put the flag into the down position--the red part doesn't show and other servers won't come over. THey use the same system in The Dock.
  11. You can actually eat at more than one restaurant per night or eat at a restaurant more than once for dinner. The restrictions are on RESERVATIONS, not on where you eat. On a cruise of 6 or fewer nights, you can make one reservation per restaurant and one reservation per night. Any additional has to be walk in. On a cruise of 7 nights or more, you can make up to 3 reservations per restaurant in advance. Why would you do this? On a short cruise, you might want to go back to a restaurant that you liked rather than explore a new one. On our 14 night cruise, we decided that we really wanted the appetizer from one restaurant and the entree from another; we were able to do just that by making a reservation at one and doing a walk in at the other. We did tell them what we were doing when we arrived so they knew the table would turn over quickly. As noted, Razzle Dazzle and The Wake serve both breakfast and lunch, which can only be reserved after boarding.
  12. Interesting...but "UP TO $1200" doesn't mean you'll get that discount. I repriced out cruise. For us, it was a $500 discount for the airfare and they had removed a discount that was there as of yesterday. The bottom line was a very minimal difference between yesterday's and today's price.
  13. Thanks for posting the good news. Hope we experience the same on Valiant.
  14. This thread is becoming silly. When you sail on VV, they send an email asking for comments. If you didn't like the food at Bimini, let them know what you'd like to see. If you liked the food, say so. VV has made lots of changes since their first sailing less than 2 years ago, and lots of changes since our first sailing less than 6 months ago. They are very interested in customer feedback. If enough sailors voice the same opinion, VV will listen...at least sometimes.
  15. This has not been our experience. We had a 1:30 time and were in our room by 1:45. By the time we had dropped our carry ons and used the restroom, our luggage was at the door! We opened the door to go to lunch, and there it was. 30 minutes is reported to be pretty typical. They prioritize suites only in that they prioritize boarding times. Since all suites can board at 1:30, their luggage is in the first group....provided they actually showed up at the terminal and handed it over.
  16. JLo was never going to be on board for the sailing, and that was clear from the beginning. She was just going to show up for a "BonVoyage" event prior to departure. There are a series of conferences during the cruise that she supposedly had a hand in organizing. Anyone who really thought they would get more than a glimpse across a large deck didn't read the fine print.
  17. This is a little old, don't know if it has changed at all....
  18. I understood that she would show up, wish everyone a good trip, and get off the ship....Probably have quality time with Richard and Tom before saying Bon Voyage to cruisers.
  19. Happy sailing....We haven't looked at fall 2024 yet, but we have 3 other VV sailings between now and then. I'd go for another if the dates and prices work out and I'm not tired of them yet......
  20. I'd rather have $100 in Loot than have a person in front of a mic saying a few words....she was never going to be on the cruise, just a "brief Bon Voyage," I think you are coming out ahead.
  21. Does dumb luck count? I had an agent that I'd used for many years and was happy with, but after covid he was down to basically a one man shop and his level of customer service bottomed out. The person who is now my agent answered a question on another site, and it was obvious from the way she answered that she was an agent. It turned out that she lives in a city that I was going to visit, so we got together for lunch and learned that we had a lot more in common than I'd appreciated on line. The agency is her business, with some other people who work with her. She is totally customer service oriented, answers texts and PMs promptly, etc. And then it turned out that we were on the same sailing during my first VV trip (the one I'd booked with my former agent)....I ended up booking 3 more cruises during that trip. She was very up front about not wanting to steal me from my agent, but she also understood that my concerns with him had nothing to do with her. Tootles.
  22. My last booking I had MNVV and the red hot booking bonus (additional $200 loot). Then VV lowered the prices, and I was able to cancel and rebook at the lower rates/benefits. I lost the $200 extra loot, but saved almost $400 off the booking price and added a $600 bar tab. I don't think I've seen this good a deal on a cruise since 2011.....or maybe ever, since 2011 was an inside cabin and this is a balcony.
  23. The way the system is now, there is no reason for me to ever book without a MNVV...either because I bought it on board or because I had my agent get one for me. She usually posts when she is going to be cruising so clients can contact her in advance to have one purchased for them. There's no downside to anyone.
