No assigned cabin yet. 21 days til we sail. I have about given up about knowing, too stressful, LOL Not really, I will be on a cruise so I won't care where I am.Keep me updated with what you get and I will do the same. The part that makes me wonder more is the TA told me that  the RC rep told her "we were in the running for a grand suite". Not sure what the heck that means. So just with that comment got me kinda excited and got my hopes up.

That’s funny about the comment the RC Rep said. My husband said the Rep for the travel agency that we are using said the RC rep said the same thing!! Hummm? Interesting! That would be great though! I will definitely keep you updated.

On your previous cruises with the suite GTY did you get the JS?

  2. If you just want to go to Maho, I would do a taxi or van to get there. Much quicker and less expensive. Just make sure that you have plenty of time to get back to the ship when you leave to come back.

If you want a tour of the island, which will also stop at Maho, I would also recommend Bernards’s Tours.

We have have done both with no problems. Enjoy your cruise!!

Another cruiser stated they called and they gave them the actual room number. So it might be worth a call. How far out is the cruise?

I am 23 days from sailing and also have a WS on Allure. No cabin or deck number yet for me. Twice in past I had a JS guarantee and had an assigned cabin within days of booking.

My husband called yesterday and they couldn’t tell him anything. We are 41 days away and we sail on the Harmony for a 9 day.

Did you get assigned a JS or did you end up with a full suite? We would be happy with a JS, but it would be awesome to have a full suite!! All we know is that the double points finally get us to Diamond! Yea!

  4. We were in a CLS on Harmony last May and definitely felt more movement then the rooms we’ve had on decks 9 or 10. But, we also had the worst weather that we have ever had on a cruise. Lots of rain and wind.

However, it did not ruin our cruise. But, we don’t have problems with motion sickness.

That’s correct.  As rumoured in another post those too may disappear.

We have not once gone to one of the Headliner shows but I know that so many others enjoy them. Wow! I guess I know why they are getting rid of them but just wow!

I can maybe see it on the Oasis class with all of the entertainment, but on the smaller ships, I think they are still needed. We were absolutely bored on our Radiance cruise, thank goodness it was Alaska and we had the beautiful scenery to look at!

  6. When is Royal discontinuing their partnership with Dreamworks? Is it April? Will they still have the Hideaway Heist as a show after that? Since it has the Dreamworks characters, I figured it wouldn’t happen any more.

Such a shame! I thought the Dreamworks characters made it more fun for the kids.

Congrats...we too will become Diamond on our cruise this May...I only hope they dont change the requirements before we get to use the Diamond benefits in a future cruise. I fear they will change the points required or the perks and Diamond will be more like Emerald...which sucks...lol...10 RCL cruises and I get a can of Coke in my room....haha

That is also a fear of mine!

While not being able to use the benefits until the next cruise gives us something to look forward to, since we don’t have a future cruise booked, I am not sure when we will finally be able to use them!

  8. Personally, we did not care for 1887, it was just strange. (A lot of RC’s entertainment is strange, but we just did not care for this one.)

We did really enjoy iSkate. That was fun because it was the skaters picking their own music and making a routine that showcased their talents.

That being said, everything is personal taste, and I say go to all of the entertainment to see what you like the best!

Make sure that you go to Columbus! It was hilarious and the music was good.

  9. We did Wonderland on Harmony. Definitely not an intimate experience. You are right next to your neighbor.

Like others have said, the presentation and experience were fun, but we also did not think that the food was the best. It was a one and done for us.

I also agree about CK. The last time we were in a suite, I was trying to convince my DH to please go to the MDR some nights because they just don’t have a great selection in CK, especially if you have eaten there before. Don’t get me wrong, the food is good, just sometimes the MDR has things that I knew that I liked.

  10. Park cafe has some really good soups! One night when I wasn’t feeling so hot, I asked for some chicken soup in the dining room and they brought it to me, no problem. It was so good!

I do have to agree that reaching out to special needs will take care of the problem. Also, the buffet would probably have some soft things to eat.

I do hope that she is able to enjoy her cruise! I know for most people, the food is part of the enjoyment of being on a cruise.

  11. Found your review yesterday and just got caught up. Thanks so much for doing this. I knew that you were cruising in March, but I was pleasantly surprised to see this review! Always enjoy the humor and great pictures!

We will be on Harmony in March on an unplanned cruise. Found a 9 day in a Suite GTY. This will FINALLY get us to Diamond!

Enjoy the rest of your cruise!!

  12. We have done DCL 3 times and RCCL 6 times.

We did DCL when our son was younger and the prices were cheaper. We really liked the Disney cruises. We did think that the ships were cleaner, the food a little better, and we liked the entertainment since it was geared towards the kids. (We thought their shows were good, but we like Disney)

When DCL priced us out, we tried Royal. We love the bigger ships because there is so much to do. Our son is in HS now, so he loves the different activities and the shows are geared toward more of a mature audience.

I agree, DCL is really good for ages 5-10. I would save up to do a longer 7 day cruise. But for now, I think you would like a Royal ship and your child won’t know the difference.

  13. Our friends son is sailing with his friends family this summer to celebrate his friends HS graduation.

I’m not sure if his friends family have been on many cruises and know what proper papers will be needed for him to board the ship and not have problems getting on and off of the ship in ports since his parents won’t be on the cruise. He is 18.

Also, I’m not sure if he has a passport. Will he need one? Or just his birth certificate? He has time to get one if need be.
