  1. Will some people tip less? Yes. I'm betting 90%+ just pay the prepaid/standard gratuities and never think anything else about it. Most cruisers don't cruise multiple times a year. I'd say most don't even cruise every year. While the D+ crowd may be up in arms at once a day cleanings, many many more are not going to notice.
  2. I'd bet the vast majority are just paying the standard gratuities and never consider changing them. I'd even say most don't even know this is a recent change and they are getting less.
  3. I was going to say buy her a drink package and "see you on Saturday" lol
  4. Put your $2 million in a 5% cd and you can take 5 trips in the $20k suite a year. You can afford it. You are just choosing not to do it.
  5. It makes sense for them to be hitting the royal ups harder. Find out what people will pay for upgrades, so when people in the cabins they are bidding for take the buyout, they make more money from the upgrade than just plugging one of the GTY's into it.
  6. Royal has something like this here: https://creative.rccl.com/Sales/Royal/Deployment/2023_2024/2023-24_Deployment_Summary_Guide
  7. If the internets are correct, your odds of getting 20 is ~10.5%. So, every 9 or 10 hands. I guess it depends on a couple things. What's the side bet pay? Is it just 2:1? If so you figure you are losing $8 every 10 hands. The second is are you winning or not? lol If you are winning, play the $10 minimum. If not, play the $5 and and the side bet. But either way, the side bet is a donation. Cost of saving on your minimum bet.
  8. Looks like theater seating for Mein Schiff 7. The next ship they are building.
  9. Your credit card statement will tell you that RCI charged you and how much. They won't tell you an itemized breakdown of your charges. Like if RCI decided to charge you for some towels.
  10. Hmmm. Do they ask for a marriage license? Just find someone with the same last name and go on a cruise together....
  11. I think the criminal elements know not to mess with the cruise ports. They make too much money off tourists there to risk the cruise ships pulling up stakes.
  12. It's so the guy that has to paint the big one on knows how to spell it.
  13. idk. Do you think they'll get along after they throw you overboard?
  14. Well, they are handling twice as many rooms, so they are going to be getting quite an increase in tips as it is.
  15. The end result of this will be bad reviews for cabin staff and them taking the brunt of the complaints.
  16. This is my question. I don't really care about having the bed made and fresh towels daily. But we are going to have 3 in the room. Are we going to have to put up/or pull out the couch bed daily ourselves, or do we just expect to have less floor space and no couch all week? I'll be curious to see how all the "i'm not a messy person" and "I don't get a new towel every day at home" people deal with that.
  17. A probably better idea is that a lot of these bluetooth speakers will just let any device connect to them if they are close enough. Then, you can play all kinds of interesting things over their speaker at full volume.
  18. They did a flythrough video of the ship that allows you to drag the view around 360 degrees. You can pause it and rotate the view when its near the cabins. It goes up the middle of surfside around 5 minutes in. It's not perfect but will give you a ballpark idea what the views will be.
  19. If I was moving from an inside to a balcony, probably, but I'm booking a balcony already. Not worth it for a Junior suite imo. But I guess at that point why would I be bidding on a JS? GS or above? I'd have to think about it of course. It would depend on how much I bid too. Which leads to the next reply. As long as I remembered to cancel it. lol But if I had a lowball bid on a GS or up, I guess let it ride. But if I had bid higher, I probably would want to cancel it. I guess it's more of a situational thing than I originally thought about it.
  20. Honestly, if they are going to wait till I'm in my room to tell me, I am not going to want to be moved. Once I unpack, I'm not repacking.
  21. You said you didn't think anyone could find any fault/harm in carrying your passport. I gave an example. Your statement was factually incorrect. If you don't think you can't get robbed while on vacation, you are just wrong. I'm not going to humor your desire to play semantics. Good afternoon to you sir.....
  22. Until you get robbed and they take everything you have including your passport. My passport can stay in the safe where the only people that can get it are my family and the cruise staff. I'll take the risk that the cruise line will get it to the pier before the ship leaves. And before you complain about hypotheticals, you are more likely to get robbed than you are of the cruise line leaving you there with your passport locked in the safe. But you do you. If you feel better with it in your pocket, no one is going to stop you.
