RoyalUP? (Bid for stateroom upgrade)
fsjosh replied to John&LaLa's topic in Royal Caribbean International
How early before a cruise does RoyalUP open up? It suggests 30 days on the form, but I didn't know if that was accurate or more of a placeholder number. -

In before "I'm booked in September 2024, do you think this will delay my cruise?" -
I have no knowledge of the situation and am asking out of curiosity, but how would they handle it if the two showed up to check in, and said the comp person would be arriving later. I know under normal circumstances, you can check in and get on board that way. But would they not allow them to board, or would they hunt them down on the ship later and try to make them pay?

I have a friend that is going on a cruise with us next year that have 8 people altogether, but of those 8, only two are over 21, and the rest are between 19 and 13. They are wanting to book 3 rooms, but I know Royal has the policy about having a person 21 and up in each room. I know there's some exceptions for connecting rooms, so my question is this. Do they allow you to put an adult with some of the group in one room, and another adult in 2 connecting rooms with the rest of the group?

This would have been a digital clock in the 2005-2010 range last time I took one. No motors on it. Not sure why, I just know it was losing time.

Alarm clocks plugged into the ship power is a problem. I don't think it does any damage, but it loses time.(or maybe it's gains. It's been years since I took one.) When I first started using one, as the cruise went along, I noticed being late for dinner and other things. Couldn't figure out why till I compared my watch to the clock and saw it was like 10 minutes off. It's nothing you can't account for, but it is a real thing. Now I just use my cell phone. I get cord long enough to put it on the nightstand by the bed and put it in airplane mode and make sure wifi's off. No time changes, no alerts, no dead battery and I have a clock and alarm clock within reach just like I would at home. To each their own though.

I'm not interested in going through a TA.

I've got some questions on booking a group for a cruise and figured I'd ask here before calling Royal. We are looking at a cruise for January 2024. We should hit the 8 room minimum, so it makes sense to set it up as a group. I managed a group cruise before, but it was in 2014, so I'm not sure what all is the same and what has changed. I found this pdf https://creative.rccl.com/Sales/Royal/Groups/18061998_Groups_Flyer_2018.pdf , but as it's dated 2018, idk if it's still current either. Once you call in and set up the group, are you still given an agent that you are assigned? Last time I had a single agent that I was able to email with questions and changes rather than having to call in and get someone new every time. We are going to want to have everyone book their own room and then get added to the group. Easier that way than having to collect that info, CC#'s, etc and passing it on. It also gives each guest control over their own reservation. Does Royal still allow that with groups? Last time, there was a $50 OBC for each room in the group. Is that still a thing or does that vary by sailing? We'll be wanting to divide any tour conductor credits among the rooms in the group to reduce everyone's cost. Do they still allow that? Not necessarily a group question, but do they still let you reprice cruises when there are price drops before final payment, or does that depend on if you selected non or refundable deposit? I know last time we were repricing cabins throughout the year, but I can't recall what the refundable status was then. Anything I'm missing?

Royal, using the policies they set, took possession of your bag and returned it soaked in wine. If it just needs washed, it's one thing, but if it's stained/ruined, it's no different than if they lost it. I doubt anyone is pursuing it in court, but Royal has plenty of responsibility here.

It looks like everything below the water level is painted. They won't need to take it out of the water to finish painting. -
Do they check if wine bottles are sealed?

So you are reiterating the content replacement point of the post you are quoting? -
The first time you posted it, sure. The second time you quoted and replied to someone simplifying it directly for the OP. At that point, it's not relevant.
-
But since the OP listed their ports, that doesn't apply here.

would love to do a TA but airfare back to US crazy.

Doing a TA with just carry on luggage would be tough. -
🤔 You trying to sell him some floor mats?

We had a first week of January cruise years ago out of New Orleans. It was 29 degrees when we left(39 in Miami that morning for comparison). When we got to Cozumel it finally broke 70, but not much more than that. Coldest cruise I've ever been on. It can happen, but that was a rarity. I'd say 80's are a more likely result.

They say you need it, and I recommend having it just in case, but we've never been asked for it. -

Not quite. Icon was supposed to sail October 23 and has been backed to late January 24. They have a ballpark idea, but theres still a lot of uncertainty in the global supply chain. -

Breaking $100 bills into smaller denominations

They can call local authorities or DEA if they think you are transporting cash for/from drugs. Those agencies certainly can confiscate it. But, no they aren't screwing with amounts like $500. Take $5-10k in cash through and they are going to ask questions.
