  1. Maybe I am missing something but booking a cruise now for 2024 you are only paying a deposit (usually less than $1,000) and the final payment won't be due till 90 days out. At 90 days you should know for sure if the company is going to go bankrupt or not. So paying a few hundred for insurance on my deposit seems to be overkill to me.
  2. I loved the other food options like Guys, Pig & Anchor, Blue Iguana & the Pizza. I did not enjoy the main dining experience however, for me I enjoyed it the least of all the lines I have been on. But hey food is very subjective.
  3. I think they put this in place so you don't have to worry about getting service on the ship to connect and complete the app, much easier to do this in advance.
  4. Was on the panorama in early July, the ship was full 4684 passengers (according to the cruise director) line ups were never really long for food. the only really long line up was getting off on Cabo day, the line was huge but it moved pretty quick. There are several places to eat during the day so people get spread out a lot and eat at different times. There were definitely waiters walking around taking orders, on deck the service seemed slow to me so I mostly went up to the bar. Service overall - I can't compare to Princess as I have never been, but compared to many others I have been to it seemed to me the service level was down a step, maybe there were just less staff but it seemed not as good as I have come to expect on Celebrity (my favourite line). Don't get me wrong the staff were generally really good and friendly (still remember names, preferences et all) but it was just a service level thing. I would give overall service a 3.75 out of 5.
  5. Tend to agree but in my 10+ cruises I have had 2 that made a difference. the last was on the Panorama which we just got off of earlier this month - Joey seemed to be everywhere and very involved, I didn't appreciate him on the sail away deck party but every other time I encountered him he definitely added to my experience. So I would say a good one can increase the experience otherwise they seem not to have an impact.
  6. you can sit inside if you want however you go outside to get the food,
  7. Lunch free (only on embarkation and sea days), it was a limited menu of brisket, pork, chicken, sausage, slaw, beans, mac & cheese, greens. The main pig and anchor is a per item menu and is open something like 5-10 pm.
  8. Was on the July 9 sailing. Agree the pig & anchor is a great choice, there was almost no one there.
  9. Throw it all in the air and takes what falls in the suitcase. 🙃
  10. Just off the Panorama last week and we had 4684 pax according to the cruise director so that is another more than 100% sailing
  11. Royal is a more upscale family line. But at that age have you looked in to Celebrity (especially if you are foodies at all). Princess may also be a good option.
  12. Royal has some interior balcony's on the big ships that overlook the promenade
  13. While I agree with you on that the price point was defiantly interior (a fair bit cheaper than the oceanview)
  14. Don't know how but have one booked on Carnival and it is classed as an inside.
  15. Sailing on Saturday and have cheers. What is the biggest mistake you made or what you wish you did different in using your cheers package?
  16. The BC one we used to use all the time looked like this But this doesn't work for travel
  17. this is what the federal one looks like for BC The one we used in BC when we had the requirement does not meet travel requirements as it does not list the type and date or vaccines.
  18. Also the private tour companies don't want you to miss the ship as it is bad for business. One or two tours missing ships would ruin their business. If they know what ship you are on they will do everything they can to get you back on time.
  19. I agree on number 1 but have never found the need for number 2 I think the biggest change in 6 years is now you need your smart phone. it seems everyone is now using apps for everything. The days of locking the phone in the safe seem to be gone, which is so sad.
  20. Exactly my thoughts. Grand Turk felt very safe. You can stay right at the beautiful beach at the pier that was free or hang out at and use the pool at Margaritaville for the day also free even though we had some food and drinks. Touring Grand Turk via golfcart was fun and never felt anyone would steal the cart or anything. Grand Turk is not a big place or is it densely populated do I think if things happen they know who did it pretty easily. I use a bag like this for my stuff at the beach https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07PHVJ7XK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Nassau while I have never had an issue and have walked all over the place is dirtier and has many more poor seeming areas that felt a little sketchier at times. If you are sticking to the tourist areas you should not have any problems but you will have to deal with a lot more pushy sales people. Never done the golf cart thing in Nassau.
  21. about 2 weeks out from being Cabo on the Carnival Panorama and wondering what the current book on the pier cost for the glass bottom boar tour that takes you to the arch and makes a stop at lovers/divorce beach is? most of the youtube things I have found are precovid
  22. I think that is a supper fair comment. If the sole purpose is to determine if your vaccinated or not which it seems it is/was then it will likely go but if the Canadian Government wants to use it to replace customs forms and what not then it will be here to stay, it might become one of those recommended things to speed through the line. But all that said this is a Government of Canada thing so really your guess is as good as mine.
