  1. When I tip on a cruise ship, I am not trying to correct a socio-economic inequity. I am just trying to show a caring service worker that he/she is appreciated. Let's not overthink this.
  2. But it is not always correct. If you absolutely need to know which nights are formal, you will need to contact Crystal.
  3. I don't know what is happening with Singapore to Dubai in 2025, but I just found out that the Singapore to Dubai cruise in 2026 has been canceled. The usual "deployment changes" has been invoked.
  4. But what we don't see are the numerous instances of discreet tipping. My hunch is that this occurs much more often than the cases of ostentatious tipping that you describe. In general, I don't agree with the tipping culture in the United States, especially in the past few years, but when you develop a relationship with a ship's crew member that extends over several weeks, tipping seems quite appropriate and, in fact, difficult to refrain from.
  5. Is there anything new here? Seems as though this was all mentioned previously.
  6. The prices show up normally when I look at these cruises.
  7. Or you may be force-fed caviar and lobster as you near the end of the cruise

    Osteria

I haven't heard of this. What is Osteria's Michelin status?

    New Ships

OK, hold on while I get my Encyclopedia Britannica
  11. Looks as though there will be a Q & A with several members of senior management, including CEO Cristina Levis, at 4:00PM today. Might be a good opportunity to get some questions answered. I'd be particularly interested in what the expected timeline is for the promised ocean vessels (and why they seem to be less prioritized than future expedition vessels).
  12. I'm wondering if that feature has been eliminated. I haven't been able to access it in many months. No big deal, though, because you can just give your room attendant a list of what you want and it will be in your fridge later that day.
  13. We also feel that way when we have to disembark the ship
  14. Speaking of alcohol, is there a way to pre-order a bottle of spirits for the room prior to the cruise, or do you just ask the room attendant for this once onboard?
  15. The Pan Pacific is connected to the cruise terminal (Canada Place).
  16. When Seabourn tenders to a port, the itinerary usually says, "Tender Required; Wheelchair Access at Master's Discretion." A rollator is not a wheelchair, but for those who do use a wheelchair, it would be worthwhile to check about the specifics for each tender port in the cruise if getting off at a specific port is important to you.
  17. Agree. Additionally, any change to increase the All Inclusive format (eg, including excursions and/or flights) would likewise strongly discourage me from booking any more cruises.
  18. If possible, keep your bags with you and take them yourselves as you disembark. Much quicker that way.
  19. That's usually the best time to do it
  20. I, too, thought that I hadn't received the survey, but it turned up in my spam folder. Now that I think about it, my spam filter did a good job with this email.
  21. hahaha, nice one, Patty! I'm sure Keith got a good laugh out of that
  22. Yes, somewhere in that range 😛
  23. We're going to be on Quest from Sept 12 through Oct 6, 2024. Then we get back onboard November 27, 2024 through January 13, 2025. Looks like you'll be on in between our two cruises...poor timing!
  24. Likewise, for the past week I haven't been able to view the daily menus for Quest, which is the ship we will be next sailing. Hope it's just a temporary situation
