  1. A few seconds I think. Windows laptop, Chrome. Try a classic emoij because the new ones work properly. I will follow the advice given by @Host Kat, thanks!
  2. I am no nautical engineer either but anything south of GSC is too shallow, it must be on the north side of the island (to the north east the reef expends too much) and I assume it will feed directly into the guest area so on the left side of the tender port? Or near Silver Cove?
  3. I am a big fan of the Classic emojis, if I insert them through the pull down menu (and scroll aaaalll the way down) it appears right, when posted it skips to a new text line? And editing a post won't help, what is happening? In the editor: This would be a sentence with a classic smiley. -smiley goes here- When posted: This would be a sentence with a classic smiley. -smiley is posted here-
  4. From Rotterdam cruise terminal to the Keukenhof will be about an hour each way, especially with a bus and some Keukenhof traffic congestion. Which will leave 3½ hours with your ship's excursion, this might suit you but DYI would leave more time. 1. Public transport is good here, you will have to take a tram/metro or taxi to Rotterdam Centraal Station, take a train to Leiden Centraal Station, buy a combi ticket for admittance and board a dedicated bus to Keukenhof as said by @Cotswold Eagle. 2. Arrange private transport, Google any "taxi" or Uber. Try contacting a taxi from the Leiden/Lisse area as they might be more interested as they can spent their time in between the rides better and could be more flexible than someone from Rotterdam who might need to wait. In the park there's no need for a tour guide, just roam around, it's just transport that you will need to visit the Keukenhof from Rotterdam. Enjoy The Netherlands!
  5. "A dock at Great Stirrup Cay? As for Great Stirrup Cay, NCL has been granted permission to build a dock there but Herrera wasn't ready to discuss specifics or a timetable." 6. The Four Seasons Hotel Miami.
  7. One more thing, the CruiseHive article mentions this: "From an economic perspective, the project is expected to create significant employment opportunities during its construction phase. Moreover, the anticipated increase in guest volumes – from 286,357 in 2019 to a projected 714,000 after the new pier has been constructed – will have a positive effect on the local economy," Which I can't find in the original NV2AGroup's announcement. The local economy's benefit after construction probably has to be taken with a grain of salt, perhaps a double revenue in straw hats for the lucky few who get to have a stable on the market. Unless it becomes like the out of control tradesmen at Labadee (RCCL). I do welcome a pier but "the local economy" and a cruise line's private island on steroids, hmm..
  8. "NCL is embarking on design and construction of Phase III at Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas. Facilities include a new pier which can accommodate two passenger ships simultaneously, water attractions, pools, a lazy river and new beaches. A new Bahamian Village will be constructed with food and beverage venues for guests as well as dormitories for service staff along with supporting infrastructure for water, sewer, and power systems." It's there, on the website from those who did the previous expansion and not just CruiseHive. Only not sure how old that announcement exactly is. At least it was after Silver Cove. But.. pre-Covid, post-Covid or yesterday..?
  9. Understandable and I have to agree but the latest expansion took some good cuts out of the shore/rocks to make new beaches and shores, I am not sure if that's precious coral reef or just hard Bahamian rock but I guess they environmentally can. Ditto for the wooded area, lots extra roads and new buildings. So is GSC an protected reef/area or are we believing NCL marketing it is? Anchoring on the same spot for years in a row can also cause quite some drag damage to the sea bed (if precious/fragile!), so there will always be a reason to spin things around and "justify" a pier I guess.
  10. Luckily CruiseCritic does not has the word CruiseHive on their censorship list otherwise I had to take credit and praise my internet scour Altavista device.
  11. Quite the clickbait title but Cruisehive reports that a construction company announced quite some additions to GSC. I am not sure when this announcement was made by this company NVA2 but here is the original link: https://nv2agroup.com/projects/ncl-great-stirrup-cay-phase-ii/ https://www.cruisehive.com/is-norwegian-cruise-line-expanding-and-enhancing-private-island/120228 NCL must keep up with the competition, with GSC just being a blurry dot in the past the more recent satellite pictures show much more detail and also a lot more back of the house development than ever before.
  12. LOL, CruiseCritic still has the word Cruise Fish censored. Pathetic.
  13. Cruise Plum is a bit more difficult to navigate I find. The site OP mentioned probably was *****.
  14. Made a quick side by side, roughly the same size in deck height: Don't get distracted by the top floor windows of the Atrium already in place, I count more porthole windows and it has more glass panels than 6298. And the space between the Atrium and the first lifeboat davit is more too. Took the 6300 photo from https://twitter.com/DenizUlke/status/1657667940311769093
  15. The Atrium itself will be larger if I compare the different blocks from the Istanbul strait pass photos (Prima's hull number 6298 vs hull 6300 for Aqua) from X/Twitter taken May '23. Source: https://x.com/YorukIsik/status/1659331356311126016
  16. Busy again with life and work! And it's great to have an at least as good successor! I am delighted, your contributions as one of the most frequent regulars to the previous threads have been valuable to many. And it's a shared passion after all, I am just a fly on the wall in the NCL headquarters, studio DADO, at Meyer Werft, at Fincantieri and so on..
  17. It's been a while since I plowed the world wide web for everything related to Prima but I think these cabanas/pods are new?
  18. This is so true. To avoid going off topic; Epic's spa is impressive, especially if you count in her age! But if you really are into spa's, warm outdoor pools, swim up bars, cold plunges, scrubs, mists and such, visit one of the thermal pools in Reykjavik, Iceland. The new Sky Lagoon is less known but as good as the well known Blue Lagoon which can be quite crowded. Don't miss a thermal pool when your cruise docks in Iceland!
  19. "Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny."
  20. What time of year? Day trips to Delft, Leiden, Haarlem, even Utrecht perhaps? Keukenhof? Zaanse Schans? I have to agree with @Cotswold Eagle, we might need a bit more info to help you here.. even or especially if Rotterdam is your bucket list destination.
  21. A bit late to the party but since OP has not responded: After security: Yotel or Mercure. Land side within (covered) walking distance: Sheraton, CitizenM, Hillton. All the other hotels mentioned on https://www.schiphol.nl/en/at-schiphol/hotels are by shuttle or own transportation. I would opt for the three on the land side, with the Sheraton as my choice with better amenities (restaurant, bar, closest to the Plaza). Grab your bags from baggage reclaim, shop some snacks and supplies at Schiphol Plaza (Albert Heijn supermarket and many other shops), have dinner at the hotel or something quick and easy at the Schiphol Plaza (recommendation: La Place) you walked through to the hotel and call it a night. https://www.schiphol.nl/en/at-schiphol/eat-and-drink/facilities/?side=landside Unless you might want to do a canal tour at night in Amsterdam, taxis are in front of the Plaza or at the Sheraton doorstep.
