  1. Pictures are lovely, thank you for them! Retirement is in the future, I wish it were closer but I still have 5 years to go. If I tried to retire now, one of two things would happen: my wife would kill me or I'd run out of money. I'd rather be alive and not penniless! 😅 Enjoy your cruise, it's nice tagging along, virtually. 😊 I hope you have a wonderful time.
  2. We've never had a problem with getting our luggage, and this is after 13 cruises.
  3. If his travel agent is anything like ours, I'd ask him to confirm how Priority disembarkation works. Our TA is a fellow cruiser and also contributes on CC.
  4. I would not expect @MCMC100's experience to be typical. Priority disembarkation means you'll have your luggage waiting for you, there'd be no point in disembarking early if you didn't have your luggage. This would also be a good issue to bring up with either your TA or your PCC. Have a great cruise. We sailed on the Epic in December 2022 and had the time of our lives.
  5. Following along....just off the Celebration, now on the Encore and then on the Koningsdam? Wow, you are living the life!! 😁 Thanks for the "live from!"
  6. Muster station/drill has been very much streamlined. Since you have to watch the safety video as part of check-in, the "muster drill" (which I put in quotation marks because it wasn't really a drill at all) consisted of us getting a number, going to where the crew member with our number was standing, literally walking without stopping to the bar, and getting a drink. Gone are the days of having to stand around with 1,000 other people in your group with life vests on, listening to the same boring speech about what to do in an emergency.
  7. Oh wow, you just cruised in January and you're going again in March. Dang! Can we trade places, LOL?
  8. It actually might be better that you have to wait. A friend of mine was just on his first-ever cruise that was supposed to call at GSC. Weather was not good when they arrived, so the port stop was called off entirely. If you'd pre-booked and then the port was cancelled, you'd have to deal with the annoyance of asking for a refund.
  9. This is right up there with the guy who called tech support because his computer wouldn't work and he eventually admitted there was a blackout in his city and no electricity. I can't even.....
  10. Loved the Epic. Those who disagree, are wrong. 😆😛
  11. This review is comedy legend. I couldn't stop laughing... And I'm glad I'll never encounter this individual on an NCL ship due to the 1st sentence of the last paragraph.
  12. Two words for this guy: GOOD RIDDANCE.
  13. We like MSC. A LOT! If we're looking for a cheaper cruise, we'll do NCL. If we feel like splurging, we'll do MSC in the Yacht Club. We really like NCL for the overall value, because the food (especially in the specialty restaurants) is quite good. I love O'Sheehan's and I really love the various bars due to NCL's interesting cocktail offerings. The Thermal Suite is another plus for us. We've always had great cabin stewards who were friendly and fun to talk to. MSC feels more European to us, which we like. We've never tried Celebrity, but I'd like to. We don't have kids and don't always go to the shows (I'm usually too tired by then, LOL!), but the ones we've seen, have been truly memorable (Priscilla & Six). My only complaint was that our last NCL cruise was extremely crowded and noisy, and the service could be very slow at times. We're booked on the Star next year for a Scandinavian cruise, and I'm looking forward to the smaller ship (and speaking tons of Norwegian!). ☺️
  14. What a sad commentary on our society that NCL has to remind people not to wear clothes with offensive images and text, holes, short shorts, hoodies, etc. What is wrong with people? SMH....
  15. Jack 'n Coke is alright, but I've become a bit of a bourbon snob and plus, I'm from Kentucky, and Jack is from that "other" state to the south of us, which shall not be named. 🤣
  16. Just to chip in on this topic: When I did our online check-in a week or so ago, the first available time was 1 pm, so I chose that. However, no matter what I did, clicking on that time yielded an error message (something to the effect of "incorrect time format"). I gave up after 4 tries and selected the next available slot, 3:30 PM. That took. Now our luggage tags and QR code for embarkation say 3:30 PM. We're in the YC and I know the time is irrelevant, but it still is annoying that I couldn't get the time slot I wanted when it was right there on the screen. It is what it is, and we're planning to get there at noon this Sunday. We're only on for 4 days and I want to enjoy every minute!
  17. Agreed! Anyone who needs more than 22 drinks a day should be checking into the Betty Ford clinic, LOL! 😂
  18. Thanks, we're doing the Seashore this Sunday for 4 nights, and my wife was asking me just last night if there was a Gala night (or a white party).
  19. Indeed! I almost looked forward to that every morning. ("Almost" because I hadn't had my 1st cup of coffee yet, LOL!)
  20. Definitely NOT! We were on NCL in November and they never stopped telling people to wash their hands, especially in the Garden Café. Very much encouraged.
  21. Haha, made me laugh, one of the best lines from one of the best movies. Thank you for this! We are sailing on the Seashore this Sunday, January 14, for 4 days. We can't wait. This will be our 4th cruise with MSC (5th if you count the one that was booked for 2020 and got cancelled) and our 3rd time in YC. We LOVE the Yacht Club for all of the reasons you described. We aren't driving there, we're taking an Uber from Orlando. Very excited to hear about the champagne and the private security lines at Port Canaveral. Again, thanks for your review!
  22. That's so true! For us, too. One day I'd love to just get right back on! 🙂
