  1. Wouldn’t it be easier to just skip over the threads that don’t interest you? 🤔
  2. It is so sad that we have so much hate in this world. Sadly, we can't do much to stop this violence by ourselves, however we can go out in everyday life and be kind to each other even if you encounter someone that has different religious, political beliefs or any other differences. We can agree to disagree on those differences and treat each other with love and respect. Imagine how much better the world would be if everyone just did this.
  3. Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions. I called Royal Caribbean; I still have the 5:00 pm dining even though it is not displayed. Have fun on your cruise.😃
  4. I wonder if they switched me to Anytime. Do you have any other cruises on the App, do they have the Dining section?
  5. Are you on Any Time Dining or Traditional (5:00 8:00)
  6. Wonder Oct 29. The section for Dining that is missing is on the last tab (person icon) it would display your dining choice. For example: Traditional Dining 05:00pm
  7. For one of my booked cruises: The section for Dining is now missing (It should be on the tab that has the person icon between Upcoming and Internet Packages) The section for Dining is there for the other cruises.I logged off then back on to the App, no change. Does anyone else have this issue?
  8. The section for Dining (between Upcoming and Internet Packages) on the tab that has the person icon is no longer there for one of my cruises. It is there for the other cruises on the App. Any ideas?
  9. @TravelBluebird Have a great cruise. Thanks for sharing your experience. I will be sailing on the Wonder in a few weeks.
  10. The demographic Royal Caribbean wants to cater to are the younger generation that likes to open their wallets (actually their payment app) to pay for experiences. Unfortunately they are no longer interested with the mature generations like most of us that post on a web based message board.
  11. I was on the Independence last month. Free sauna and steam access for guys is still available.
  12. For those who remove their tips and say they are going to tip and cash and really have no intention to tip at all: DoorDash delivery driver appears to spit on delivery after being upset with tip (nbcnews.com)
  13. When a crew member signs a contract, they are aware and agree to the total compensation which includes a share of the automatic gratuity’s. Just like every other job offered in the world, compensation is discussed. There are two types of crew members, those that work behind the scenes (we don’t see them) and those that have direct contact with the guests (waiters, stateroom stewards) That explains what I said, I did not say I have access to their contact of employment.
  14. The cruise line crew that work behind the scenes and those who work in positions that have directly contact with guests agree to their compensation based on the automatic gratuities that the guests pay. When you pay the automatic gratuities you contribute to that salary plan that is acceptable to the crew when signing their employment contract. I personally don’t like that method, I agree that it is a scam, however I pay the automatic gratuities because I feel that I contributed to every crew members agreed compensation and don’t want to disrupt it. If a crew member goes over and above, I discreetly give them cash as a thank you. The crew members are from areas of the world that does not have many opportunities, they work hard and are away from their families. We are so blessed that we can afford to cruise and have the time to cruise. The $16 per person per day is not going to break any of us. Most of us spend that amount of money on things that are not necessary. Why are some obsessing over this? Keep this in mind: Part of the cruise fare is taxes and fees. We have no idea of the breakdown of where that money goes. Part of the cruise price includes all of the amenities and shows. If you do not participate in everything, should you expect get a prorated portion of your cruise fare refunded? The cruise line adds the gratuities on board so that initial total cost seems lower, the same way hotels have resort fees, both practices are not ideal, but it is what it is. When booking the cruise, I consider the cruise fare, taxes, fees and the gratuities all together as the total cost. I want to enjoy my cruise, pay the automatic gratuities to feel confident that I did not screw any crew member to their agreed compensation, relax and not worry what crew members get paid, it is not my business, it is between them and the company, the same way it is everywhere else.
  15. Condolences on the loss of your father. It's nice to hear that Royal Caribbean did the right thing. It would be awesome if you used the $250 credit toward something very special and memorable.
  16. I was on the Independence last month. The sauna and steam are still available and free
  17. If you are going to remove the automatic gratuities and stiff the crew, remember to hide your tooth brush, it could be mistakenly used to clean the toilet.
  18. There was no Ice Cream available in the Windjammer for lunch or dinner on the Independence last week. There was Ice Cream available for dinner (no charge) in the MDR.
  19. Condolences to you and your family. It was nice of Royal Caribbean to refund your money.
