  1. Almost like a Duck Fart at the Red Dog Saloon in Juneau: Kahlua, Bailey's, and Crown Royal - layered and meant to be taken down as a straight shot. It's charged as a single drink and I can't imagine anything of the sort not being charged as a single drink anywhere. (I think the version you list as a B-52 sounds better though. I'm adding it to my list of "drinks to try" on our next cruise. THANKS!) Edit: The staff's favorite question at the Red Dog Saloon: When people see Duck Fart on the menu they ask, "How do you make a Duck Fart?". The favorite answer is, "Squeeze it!".
  2. Nah... I'm old and boring and follow the rules.
  3. Exactly my thought on the matter. Thanks for verifying. Pretty sure they broke us up as two couples - one in each couple Elite. Sounded a bit "odd" at the time. Perhaps it would fly in the past but, in the day of the Medallion, it seemed pretty "iffy" to me.
  4. Don't think I have ever seen this particular question addressed. I know what my first reaction is but I'm looking for the "real" answer. When we were Platinum we shared a priority tender ride with a couple who were Elite. At that time they said they were each allowed to bring one "guest" for the priority tendering so the 4 of us had an "in" and didn't have to get tickets and wait to be called. That "may" have been kosher at that time but we really don't know. I'd like to know if: 1.That was, at one time, kosher but no longer is acceptable 2. That never was kosher and we "got over" on the system 3. That is actually how priority tendering works and it is okay to do so today
  5. Not only are there still kiosks but, at least on our recent Grand Princess trip, the printout was on "real" paper rather than the horrible thermal print paper they use to have. It was a pleasant surprise. (It was especially pleasant when I looked at it and realized we still had over $600 refundable OBC left. 😁)
  6. Our first ever cruise was on the old Sea Princess in 2011. It took my wife years to get me to go on a cruise. The cabin was way forward and the first night out of SF on the way to Alaska was quite rough. The next day people were bouncing off the walls on the way to the buffet. The cabin (A323) was way forward and was tiny (I pretty much had to go out of the cabin to have enough room to change my mind...) Most inside cabins on Princess ships show a size of 162 sq. ft. on the deck plans. Our cabin on Sea Princess was 135 sq. ft. Despite the tiny cabin and the rough weather and the fact that I pretty much had to be coerced and dragged onto the ship to please my wife because I absolutely knew without a doubt that I would hate cruising, I got off the ship after the cruise and wanted to get right back on. An inside cabin, even a tiny one, can make for a great cruise.
  7. On every Princess cruise we did before the shutdown there were trash receptacles at every elevator bay. These disappeared with the restart. On our recent Grand Princess trip there were receptacles near the burger place and pizza place on Lido deck. They had trash / recycle openings.
  8. We recently did 63 days on Grand Princess. The first 31 days in an inside cabin and the last 32 days in a balcony cabin. Honestly, we had no issues at all with the 31 days in an inside cabin. Like you, we had wondered about an extended time in an inside cabin but it turned out to not be any problem at all. I say book the cruise and enjoy yourself. Note: @kbconthemove I know you said that you don't drink so this note isn't really for your benefit but, for anybody else wondering about an inside cabin, they should be aware that an inside cabin with the Premier fare is going to be cheaper than a Balcony cabin with the Plus fare.
  9. h Yes, if it is at the "link a cruise or voyage" thing it will never work so don't even waste time with it. Using the booking number to log in "should" work fine. If not he will need to call Princess and ask for the Medallion Team (or whatever that option is) and have it fixed.
  10. If you booked with the Premier Fare or the Plus Fare @$60 per day (the New Plus Fare) then Ocean Now delivery is included. If you booked Standard Fare or with the Plus Fare waaaaaaaaaay back when it was $50 per day (the Old Plus Fare) then Ocean Now is included if and only if you pay a one-time-per-cruise fee of $14.95. That gives the person who paid the fee and only the person who paid the fee Ocean Now delivery for the entire cruise. That person can, of course, order food and drinks for others but they will all be charged against the account of the person who makes the order. If you booked with the Premier Fare or the New Plus Fare Room Service is included even by phone. If you booked with the Standard Fare or the Old Plus Fare calling Room Service on the phone will incur a fee of $5 every time you call. No matter how you booked Room Service Breakfast using the hang tag for the door is included at no extra cost.
  11. You can check out THIS LINK for an example of the Ocean Now drink offerings. At the bottom of that page you will find THIS LINK for an example of the Ocean Now food offerings.
  12. I have a US driver's license which is a government issued photo ID. No need for my passport on shore.
  13. Given the current state of US politics and world conflicts I wouldn't be at all surprised if one or more cabins was sporting partisan decorations of one sort or another which could result in some pretty nasty onboard conflicts as well. It only takes one person to spoil things for everyone else. We don't do door decorations and had no intentions of ever doing so but it appears a lot of folks love having them and I have seen a few that definitely made cabin identification easy. One even served as a useful landmark for us when we went the looooooooooooooong way home down a passenger corridor from the opposite end of the ship. It let us know we were getting close to "home" without paying any attention to the cabin numbers as we trucked down the hall.
  14. If booked in a full suite and also Elite you will get 2 mini bars for each segment.
  15. That may very well be what they are referring to a bad taste.
  16. I always look like a tourist. I carry a small backpack slung over one shoulder. It carries anything my wife may buy as well as a water bottle, napkins (there has been need of emergence TP on shore when none was available), band aids, etc. I'm certain it marks me as a tourist. Such is life. My wife doesn't wear any flashy jewelry or anything of that sort. I don't wear my good watch on shore and my wallet is in my front pocket where it's fairly difficult to access. I speak with a definite US accent (one of many accents in the US) and don't speak Catalan, Spanish, Norwegian, Dutch, French, etc. nor can I read signs, menus, etc. in languages other than English. Even if someone is blind I will be branded as a tourist as soon as I speak.
  17. We recently saw gluten free pizza offered on Lido deck on Grand Princess. I would guess one could also order it at Alfredo's or Gigi's. Don't be afraid to ask.
  18. I use my user name and password and it works fine for me. Worked on the old app and now works on the new app. I never use the booking number.
  19. Back in 2017 we took a long (7 week) camping trip from our home in Northern California to Fairbanks, Alaska. We traveled from California through Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Montana and then up through Alberta, British Columbia, and Yukon before finally reaching Alaska. We greatly enjoyed our time in Alaska but found traveling through Canada to be amazing and beautiful. We saw things we will never forget and it remains as one of the highlights of our travel - despite the fact we are about to board for our 23rd cruise. I am envious of your friend's trip. You really should go. We also do multi-week camping trips here in the US as there is much to see here in our own country. It's insanely diverse as to the geography. Here is our "Big Rig" that we take on trips of this sort. A door on each side with a queen bed in between and a hatch on the back for my cooking supplies. (I do the cooking and my wife does the dishes. Works for both of us.)
  20. Don't know what to tell you. On our last cruise(s) I was able to access the web version using Firefox on my laptop while at sea.
  21. Sounds as if you are currently on a ship. If so, try using the website and see if that works for you.
  22. Access for one device just means one device at a time. I will use the access on both my phone and my tablet but can only be logged onto one of them at a time. As for multiple device access when sailing as a solo: I really have no clue but doubt that's the case.
  23. Playing with the app today it seems to be working quite well and even the activity venues have populated. No issue with slow loading or slow response.
  24. Just checked for the infamous barcode. We sail in 11 days. No sign of a barcode. However, I am very happy to say the app opened in maybe 15 seconds. I closed it and tried again and it still opened very quickly. A vast improvement. Edit: Okay, I take it back. I do have a Boarding Pass with a barcode. It says "Check-in Window 10:30 AM - 2:00 PM
