  1. Debbie did some laundry yesterday and she was ready at 8 am but they didn't open until around 8:20. No problems with the machines. Btw, Elite laundry has been returning in less than 48 hours.
  2. We had a fun day today! The five of us shared a taxi to Waikiki ($25). The kids rented an umbrella and two lounge chairs on the beach next to the Moana Surfrider Hotel (in front of the Hula Grill). It was $54 for three hours. They had a great time swimming in the ocean. I accompanied Debbie on a shopping safari! She hit Duke's Marketplace, Ross, H&M, and Macy's. For my reward for carrying all of the bags, we had lunch at the Paia Fish Market. I highly recommend this casual restaurant. We had seared ahi burgers and they were Fantastic! It is located behind the Waikiki Beach Comber Hotel. We reunited in front of the Cheesecake Factory and shared a taxi back to the ship.
  3. The cake decorating was booked at the Kids Club for $10. They were having two sessions during this voyage, 15 kids per session. It was held in the galley for the Michelangelo MDR. They had to wear long pants, closed toed shoes and were provided latex gloves. Parents were not allowed in the galley. The photo does not do the cake justice and it was really tasty!
  4. I just spoke to our room steward re: our neighbors. He said they are no longer in quarantine. That it was precautionary only.
  5. Fyi, another poster is beating you to the punch with all of the graphics...
  6. My DW uses the watch band and I use the clip. Both were purchased onboard and are very reasonably priced. We are very happy with both. We previously tried clips purchased on Amazon and they did not work out well for us.
  7. Thank you so much for the kind words! It is very different for us cruising with our granddaughter. She is such a mature young lady and makes us view the cruise from a different perspective. A couple days ago, she participated in a kids cake decorating class in the galley. The cake was really nicely done with a custard filing and topped wth fresh fruit. The kids assembled the entire cake. We have had the cake for desert the past two nights in the MDR. I'll try to get our daughter to post a photo of the cake. They also let her keep the apron and chef's hat.
  8. I don't know? This is something we have never done. I'll ask around with some of our cruise buddies onboard.
  9. Tonight our neighbors table disappeared. Maybe it was a short precautionary quarantine or they were moved??? We'll see what happens mañana...
  10. You can buy the Hoppa-on/Hoppa-off tickets at their terminal. They had lots of buses. Our daughter had no problem with the Uber. They picked them up just outside the cruise terminal gates.
  11. I then went to my favorite restaurant in Hilo, "Pineapples." It is right up the street from the Farmers Market. I sat at the bar and had grilled Ono over Jasmine rice and an aioli cream sauce, DELICIOUS!!! And I finished the meal with a local Hisbiscus vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce! Then it was time to walk off the calories while going back to the ship!
  12. Today in Hilo, our group went in three different directions. Our kids hired an Uber and visited the Kuamana Caves and Richardson Black Sand beach. Debbie took the free shuttle to the Walmart shopping center. She was itching to get her shopping fix! At home, she rarely goes 2 or 3 days without a shopping safari. As our granddaughter says, "Nana is the best shopper in the world!" Especially as she is the biggest recipient of the shopping hunts. I did my usual two mile walk to downtown. The day started off cloudy and humid. By the time I walked back to the ship it was really sunny. The Hoppa-on/Hoppa-off terminal is right outside the cruise terminal gates. After resting under a huge banyan tree until I stopped profusely sweating. I walked thru the Farmers Market and all over town. Next...
  13. Yesterday, our Future Cruise consultant told us about an upcoming repositioning voyage on the Majestic at the end of this year. LA to Ft Lauderdale via South America, 51 days. We will book it as soon as it is available! The Majestic will be in the Caribbean for a season before moving to Europe.
  14. They now quarantine you in your assigned cabin. The biggest recent threat onboard has been the Noro virus. We are constantly using our hand sanitizer. We use one that has no alcohol, uses organic oils and is very easy on the skin.
  15. Covid or Noro. Either one is no bueno. We have seen this many times since the start-up.
  16. UH OH!!! This is what we have outside our neighbors door this morning! 😬
