  1. If you have the old deck plans very easy. If you provide the ship and suite I am happy to look it up for you. Keith
  2. Yes they have your Crystal Society number. Yes they know how many cruises you have completed. The society program is based on the program as of 2019. The only caveat is if you have any unused milestones they will not be used because they do not know who has and has not used previous milestones. Keith
  3. David, that is the 10 million dollar question. A few things. Not everyone is signed up to receive e-mails. Sometimes they go into spam. I know of at least one person whose e-mail wouldn't go to the account she uses but when she provided a different e-mail account with another e-mail provider she started to receive them. In my old career one of many services we provided was e-mail and some e-mail providers don't interface well with selected providers. Keith
  4. No refurbishments are being done on the Classic Aquamarine nor the Seabreeze other than say new bed linen and some touchups. Walls not move nor any overhaul. Keith
  5. Some additional information. DESIGN, DÉCOR AND DELUXE AMENITIES AWAIT ONBOARD THE REIMAGINED CRYSTAL Blending Classic and Modern Design Elements with a Dash of Mediterranean Influence, Global Partners Collaborate to Drape Ships in an Aesthetic Reflection of Crystal’s Exceptional Style MIAMI – July 6, 2023 - As Crystal prepares for its anticipated unveiling this summer, Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony will introduce lavish design concepts in collaboration with the finest international partners. From redesigned public spaces and modern guest rooms and suites to refined in-room amenities and exclusive linens designed for royalty, the new Crystal experience is a feast for the eyes with elevated touchpoints throughout. “As we welcome guests back to Crystal, we are delighted to unveil a look and feel that blends the best of its renowned past with a new vision fit for a bright future ahead,” said Chief Executive Officer of A&K Travel Group, Cristina Levis. “Fresh colors, unique textures and first-class tangible elements create an ambiance that evokes timeless moments of leisure and will leave guests with memories that will last a lifetime.” Tillberg Design Tillberg Design of Sweden (TDoS) was chosen as the lead designer of Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony with projects encompassing public spaces, dining venues, as well as the recently announced Aurōra Spa. TDoS was tasked with creating spaces that blended classical elements and modern materials with a dash of Mediterranean influence. The resulting design was a refined and lasting concept that exemplifies contemporary and sophisticated layers within a refreshed setting. “We are delighted to once again receive the trust from Crystal, this time with a studious and sophisticated renewal of the brand and its rich heritage,” says TDoS Partner & Executive Director Fredrik Johansson. “We are working closely with Crystal management to ensure that their iconic fleet stays top-rated by the guests and profitable for the owners.” GEM - Design for Cruise Ships For the redesign of select guest rooms and suites, Crystal enlisted leading cruise ship architectural firm, GEM. The new concept features neutral tones and high-end fixtures complemented with subtle hues of pastel colors and shades of gray and beige that resonate with the color of the ocean. "It was a pleasure to spearhead the design of select guest rooms and suites for Crystal. Our vision was to create a refined space for guests that embodies an ambiance of contemporary and classic elements, while complementing the already existing collection of adored accommodations," said Managing Director of GEM Lorenzo Mortola. “Our main goal was to merge smaller sized guestrooms into larger suites that offer a separate living room and bedroom areas, large bathrooms with a walk-in shower and double faucets and sinks. With more space, guests will have all the functions expected on a high-end cruise, while offering the best comforts of home.” With Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony guestrooms and suites accommodating a 740 and 606 guest capacity respectively, travelers can choose between various rooming options—some with spacious verandas—whose extensive renovations have reduced overall guest capacity in pursuit of maximizing in-room relaxation. Both ships will also include two new guest room categories – the Jr. Crystal Penthouse Suite and Single Guest Room with Ocean View as an option for solo travelers without the worry of paying additional single supplements. These new categories will also increase the availability of the popular Sapphire Suite category. Every component of the redesign was carefully considered. The project architect, Adriana Granato, an Adjunct Professor of Architecture at Politecnico di Milano, and of Studio Ibsen, led the team that illustrated all renderings of the new guestrooms and suites. She personally traveled to a quarry in the Italian Alps to choose the Fior di Pesco marble slabs, also known as peach flower, for its precious veins of peach shade that give the stone the name. “To be part of this unprecedented comeback and refurbishment of such an iconic brand is such an honor,” said Granato. “I am so excited to see the renderings come to life when Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony take to the water. I know the guests are going to love everything about them.” Jesurum 1870 Linens Suites will offer the highest quality linen with a custom-made collection of bedding from Jesurum 1870. For more than 150 years, the Italian-based Jesurum has woven the most exclusive linens, originally created for private residents, mega yachts and royal families. Crystal is the first in the industry to collaborate and work exclusively with the Venice-born brand whose familial brand ethos is motivated by dedication and innovation. Guests residing in the Aquamarine categories and above can expect an enhanced night’s rest with the 100 percent made-in-Italy products of the bespoke Carol collection that offers an undulating, ogee-inspired border in gorgeous embroidery and was selected due to its resemblance to Crystal’s logo. “We are honored to have been chosen from Crystal for this project and are proud to be part of their new journey,” said Paola Cimolai, CEO of Jesurum 1870. “The eloquent accommodations combined with our delicate bed linens will be sure to offer the perfect night’s sleep to Crystal guests.” La Bottega Amenities In collaboration with La Bottega, a renowned hospitality curator for in-room amenities, Ortigia was tapped to supply soap and fragrance products onboard. Founded in Sicily, Ortigia’s products are indigenous to its motherland and inspired by the scents and elements of Italy’s tropical region. Soft and delicate, the bath and shower experience will transport guests to a field of Sicilian spring wildflowers and offers notes of narcissus, wild iris, and jasmine. “I worked with Ortigia in a previous role, and I am so in love with the brand that I had to bring it onboard our Crystal ships,” added Levis. “We are also working on a second alternative line that will be available in 2024.” Planned voyages will travel throughout the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, Canada and New England, Alaska, the Caribbean, through the Panama Canal, the Middle East, Asia, Australia and New Zealand. Book one of the exceptional itineraries by contacting your travel advisor, visiting crystalcruises.com or calling 1-888-617-0110.
  6. An e-mail went out on this but I realize not everyone is getting the e-mails. This includes two videos which are super. https://www.crystalcruises.com/story/crystals-exquisite-onboard-redesign?utm_campaign=suites_6JULY2023&utm_medium=email&utm_source=newsletter#video-lorenzo-mortola Keith
  7. And now four categories show you can book them. from when I checked yesterday. It reflects changes for a whole range of reasons. Keith
  8. I thought a couple of more food photos were in order. We are looking forward to experiencing Nobu once again. Keith
  9. Terrific photos and memories by wearsiamese. Thank you so much for sharing them. Keith
  10. Thank you so much for your thoughtful comments and also for the recommendation about L'Intendant. You are right. We prefer the April/May and September/October time frame for the Med. Only time we sailed it in the Summer was July the very first time because I was working full-time back then and children in school. It was hot and humid. We made an exception because of the restart of new Crystal. I do well in the heat but Anne Marie does not so we will be very careful. The second cruise will bring some ports where temperature should be more moderate and since we are early risers we'll try to get out early in ports where heat is high similar to what we do at home. Cheers, Keith
  11. As I've mentioned we are booked on several of the 2023 and 2024 voyages and with our last booking on both Serenity and Symphony Our first two are the Serenity are the July 31 Serenity Marseille to Lisbon cruise and the Lisbon to Southampton Cruises. I look forward to sailing with several of you on these and others cruises which have been mentioned on this thread. Happy Cruising. I am thrilled to see so many booked on one of the cruises and hope others will post either that they are booked on one of these or if the would like which ones. Keith
  12. Yes there will be much that will be shared by those of us on the initial sailings and as more people from CC return those who like top post can continue to share details. Back to the categories that are booked. There is no telling what is booked and what is not. What I do know from my own experience is that if it say waitlisted it means waitlisted. This means that rooms are taken whether they are taking by paying guests, enrichment personnel, Crystal personnel, contractors (doubtful as there would be crew rooms, but anything is possible) held back just in case there are issues with other rooms, etc. As to rooms that you can get a quote this means you can either select whatever room(s) are available or that it is a guarantee. You won't know until you inquire. I experienced this on one of our bookings as we were interested in one of two categories on a completely different voyage and on one of them had only a guarantee and for us that is a non-starter but thankfully on the other one a few of our desired rooms were still available so we went with the latter. The other thing we all know is that things change. Less so now as there are penalties for cancellation but months ago when this was first announced it was sold out but then people cancelled. That could have been because agencies booked rooms hoping that clients would be interested or even some guests booking and changing their minds. I have seen this happen many times such as on Northwest Passage (first one) and World Cruise 2015. Both had strong interest and at one time both sold out but that changed overtime. Keith
  13. LeeAnne I am so sorry about your Mom's passing. May her memory live on and may her memory be a blessing. Thank you for your thoughtful comments. At this time I have a conflict for that cruise due to commitments here but I have written it down and will relook at it in a few months for sure. We would love to sail with you for sure so I will relook at this. Focused1 thank you for posting the article and for your nice comments and Nancy for posting the link and to suzeluvscruiz for her nice comments. I guess the cat is out of the bag now. Of was the cat in the bags which have been packed (figuratively) for months. I prefer to wait for cruises to be closer to their sailing date before posting about a booking for a slew of reasons. We will be on the first two cruises of Crystal Serenity and we look forward to sailing with several of our CC community woh are booked for one or both of these cruises some of whom we know and others who we do not know. It will be a pleasure to sail with each of you. More on that as we get closer. We do have two more family members since that photo was taken on the day we renewed our wedding vows and my hope is we will take the entire family on a Crystal Cruise and look forward to the release of the 2025 itineraries to see if that will be possible. The dates in 2023 and 2024 didn't work for that. Keith
  14. Two categories show you can request a quote and the resit show wait listed. But go back later and this could change. Then again we don't know how many of those where it say request a quote are available for booking. Keith
  15. Hello again. I am happy for you but I don't believe what you were told is correct. This is why I say this. Terms from the program on the web site are provided below and you see it is per suite or room booked. If it applied to two people in a room then my wife and I would be able to use two for our room and I know that is not the case. Beneficiaries traveling with friends and family, booking additional suites or guest rooms for the same voyage (or at least one voyage if the Beneficiary has booked back-to-back voyages), may apply their Credit per additional suite or guest room booked. An individual booking is defined as one (1) suite or guest room reserved for one voyage. For the avoidance of doubt back-to-back voyages, Grand Journeys and the World Cruise are considered one booking and not multiple bookings by voyage segment. If I am right the good news is you still get to use two vouchers (one for your room and one for their room) so this means you would have used three of five. I hope this makes sense. Keith
  16. That's great. Please remember it is one voucher per room. Hopefully you can use them all but my view is whatever any of us can use is better than the alternative where we were out the entire amount. And maybe we'll get something when the work by Moecker is complete. I am expecting nothing so if we get something all the better. Keith
  17. Roy, I don't think Crystal had a drone. I do remember there were helicopters out that day from various local news channels, but not absolutely sure where this one originated from. Keith
  18. As Flymia mentioned Intercontinental is more central to the downtown area. If you like to walk Publix is about a 20 minute walk but closer is Whole Food, just a few minute walk plus CVS. Keith
  19. Always enjoy departing and arriving to New York City. My first cruise was at age 12 on Home Lines sailing R/T New York CIty. I had never seen water as blue as it looked until the day after we departed. Our arrival to Manhattan in 2016. Keith
  20. This song came out when I was at University and ironically had gone up to Philadelphia around then to attend a wedding of friends. Seems like Yesterday, but that was another song back in the day. Take it away Elton John. Keith
  21. Terrific news. Over the coming month you will see lots of posts about the ships and the entire experience and many of us who sail will be happy to answer your questions. Our first cruise on Crystal in 2002 was to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and the experience exceeded our expectations. Many years later we renewed our wedding vows with family on board a Crystal sailing to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. We felt very welcomed on our first Crystal cruise even though no one knew us from before. You will find it easy to learn how things work. Keith
  22. Perfect. And yes CYE 2025 is 12/31/25 . The previous vouchers issued for the Ocean Vessels are also good for all departures through year end 2025. I am so glad you got such a quick turn-around from Crystal and it's great that they expanded this to money owed for the other former Crystal vessels. I was very pleased to hear back yesterday. As soon as the 2025 itineraries are released we will use the new sub-credits for 2025. Keith
  23. It is so refreshing to see so many Cruise Critic members who are booked on cruises for the 2023 and 2024 inaugural season. I know as each ship gets back to sea and more people sail a lot of the threads will be focused on actual sailings as well as experiences after people return home and answers to questions that people have going forward some of which we don't know yet. Keith
  24. Each voucher represents five sub credits. One sub credit can be used per room. The only way you can use more than one on the same cruise is if you have friends or family and for each room you could use one sub-credit. Also let's say you had a back to back voyage Only one one sub-credit can be used. As your voucher indicates you have to book a cruise by October 1, 2023 but if you have an existing cruise you can immediately have them applied to them and this voucher is good for all departures through CYE 2025. I hope this helps. Keith
