  1. Nancy while it was an addition to WC 2022 and 2023 as CruisePlan mentioned although not mentioned in the Press Release it is one of the amenities for WC 2024 which is shown in my last post along with covering basic medical visits. I am glad both of these which were recent new additions to Old Crystal have been incorporated by New Crystal as part of WC 2024 and I know the vast majority of World Cruisers will appreciate both. Keith
  2. He has a great following from hist time with Silversea is very engaging with the guests and I expect to be a nice addition to the 2024 World Cruise. Keith
  3. Some additional information on the amenities from the Crystal Cruises website for full World Cruisers which I thought would be of interest to some of you. Keith

  5. This new Crystal is far from an unknown for many of us. In fact, very little will is unknown as we learn things with each passing week. An example is enrichment. In short we know a lot. And some surprises are always good. As to the itineraries, it all comes down to personal opinion and preference. What one person thinks is boring another person thinks is exciting. Without a doubt my wife and I are very pleased with the itineraries we booked. I like visiting some new places and revisiting areas that we have been to before. There are some places I can go year after year and never get tired of visiting. We like to smell the roses. We are blessed having visited so many ports and countries As to the exceptional initiative program all I can say is "Bravo" and "Kudos" to Crystal for doing this. For those of us who are owed money it was a very nice gesture to do this. I have money on river and expedition that I won't get much back but for the money I had with the ocean vessels it was a wonderful surprise, and handled very well. If you were not owed money, or have nothing booked it won't benefit you but for many of us it was an unexpected plus. I was reading a post on another social network from someone who had it with the old company and had it was an overstatement. Well, they have decided to return after all that and was very happy to see this program (they were returning before this was announced) and spoke very highly about new Crystal.. Anyway each person should make their own decision. Personally, I don't like raining on someone else's parade. I am happy when others are happy even if it is not something that makes me happy. I am just happy for them. Keith
  6. Very well said. It's funny when we sailed Symphony in 2018 since they had pretty much redone every area on the ship in so many ways it looked new and pristine. If you maintain the ships well and update them they can look great. I have been on some ships that after three years they look worn. Yes the difference is technology. For me the same goes for hotels. There are several hotels that have been around along time but I find them better maintained than some of the newer hotels plus they have character and charm. Keith
  7. I doubt many people know how deep pockets are of most companies large, medium or small. For some, Insurance is the key along with the credit card company they use.
  8. In the case where we had already paid in full for a cruise two days after I received the voucher confirmation the credit showed up today on our credit card account. I was pleasantly surprised how quickly that occurred and our TA was easily able to apply the sub-credits to other cruises we have booked and the invoices were updated promptly by Crystal. Keith
  9. When you over talk it is cheap. When you say what your intend to do it is not. Right now they are preparing the ships as they said they would. If you want the brand and want to get started sooner rather than later then you begin with the ships and then overtime add new ones. You keep saying old as if that is a sin. Since when is old bad particularly if the ships are given a new facelift and well maintained and have some characteristics not found with the newer ships. Don't get me wrong. I want to see new ships but that doesn't mean the current ships are getting ready to pass. It's funny in the States some people think homes are old when they have been around 20 years. I reming them go to places like England and Scotland or other places in Europe and there are many homes hundreds of years "old". Yes it will be only a few months till the ships sail. But don't expect the ships to walk in the ocean.
  10. I have no idea how many people are taking advantage of this but I certainly have seen a lot of activity on social media about the promotion, have had several people ask me questions and have spoken with many friends who have taken advantage of it. For me, it was a pleasant surprise and I will easily use all five sub credits. It's terrific for those people who already had booked cruises and will either get a refund if they have paid in full or will get a cruise fare reduction for already booked cruises. Some would have booked additional cruises anyway once 2025 is released and this might encourage some to book additional cruises. Whether it's 500 people 5,000, 50,000 is irrelevant to me. Just happy new Crystal was able to do something for those of us who are owed money and planned to sail or will now sail with them because of this. Keith
  11. Flashback Friday. March 4, 2020 in Sydney, Australia after getting off Serenity and spending a few days in Sydney, Australia with family before returning home. Based on what we were being told about what was happening back home one of the smartest moves I made was to order one large carton (the kind businesses order) of toilet paper from Amazon and a day after I ordered it they were sold out. When people talk about the good old days years from not I have a suspicion they won't be talking about this Happy Friday. Keith
  12. Multiple claims. Back home with the paperwork. I have 10 claims. Does that mean I will receive 5 subcredits or 50 subcredits? If the latter, no way I can book 50 separate cruises since B2Bs only count as one. Sure hope it is the former. Anyone have any experience with so far? I have confirmed that it is the former and they will combined the 10 claims into 1 claim with five sub-credits as long as the information they have can identify this as the same one person. When you get the voucher it will show the total price and what cruises you have already booked. Keith
  13. We don't know the depth of the pockets. -1 owner wasted a lot of money, leveraged themselves, didn't take action when the pandemic hit as other lines did such as getting a cash infusion and possibly milked the assets of Crystal. +1 owner has already mentioned new ships. +1 owner is taking lots of steps to renovated the ships and for the time bring focused on Crystal Society members. New attracts some but older ships can provide features not found on many of the newer ships including the promenade deck and the cozy spots on the back of most guest decks and a lot of public space. When I was on several sailings in 2021 which did attract many first time cruises the first timers were wowed and I didn't hear any complaints about the age of the ships. Yes, I get it about new versus older ships and for some that is a deal breaker particularly those new to the market. Let's see what the ships look like after dry dock. There is a lot not known about what is being redone. And let's see what the guests have to say.

  18. Excellent point. For us I didn't look at it because ideally we needed one suite and one standard room for the five of them but if you are saying the price difference isn't that big compared to the one suite connecting to the standard room that is good to know. The other factor was location and I prefer the traditional PH on Serenity over the SB. But something we will look at. Thank you. Keith

  21. Julia: History and Wine and nnn are correct. I had looked at bringing the family on and in our case for one of the families I need a standard room and then a suite with a connecting standard room. We were told that the Aquramarine would accommodate three. We couldn't make it work as there are a limited number of rooms with a connecting door and they were all booked. Keith

  24. Very happy about this Exceptional Incentive Program. It was clearly unexpected, we have now received the voucher and it is being put to good use. Voucher information released to our TA and also sent to us so we are aware. Voucher not only lists the amount of credits but provides a nice summary of our bookings. Keith
