My feeling about the pod problems is that the demand for size/power has always exceeded the metallurgical design of the thrust bearings. And the design of the early pods that do not allow bearing change from inside was a major mistake. The bearings are getting better but failures still happen.

Well, duh. Everyone knows that ;)

NCL told my TA just a few minutes ago that our departure is still scheduled to go on time. I try not to think about Dr.House (tv show) who always said that "everybody lies." :)

If I could afford it, our family would be sailing in suites. Unfortunately, we aren't financially able to YET :D. I won't begrudge anyone's choice in cabin selection, but I will be envious. It's in my nature :o.

FWIW, Norwegian PR rep says they're anticipating a normal embarkation on the 19th. We'll check back with her tomorrow/Monday, and let you know if that outlook changes.

I like to ask the friendly bartenders for suggestions. After a while I sometimes ask them to surprise me. It always works out great. I've tried a lot of drinks I never would have thought of.

When I was a kid I was walking on deck at night and came upon a large dark spot beneath me feet. I took a closer look and it was a HUGE moth. It was the size of a softball. I almost had a stroke at the ripe old age of 12!

Looks like there were only 2 customs agents this morning. My issue was calling our number and having us wait so long. Of course, I could just be bitter since the cruise is over.

It is a total nightmare getting off the ship this morning. The lines are huge and we have been standing for an hour in line and haven't even made it off the ship yet. This is very unusual.

I imagine they are doing nothing but the regular illness questionnaire. They are more likely at this point to leave it up to the airports. This is only a guess on my part.

I wonder which line will be shorter, cash or credit.

We just took advantage of 3rd/4th person sail free a couple of days ago. Got a great deal on the VOS for October.

I'm concerned over the recent prices too. We haven't book anything yet for 2015 because we like to take more than one cruise a year, and with the prices the way they are, we can't do that. This may make us jump ship to Carnival in the future. :eek:

.... husband, son and myself on the Dec. 2013 cruise that was held in Key West for 37hours... AND scheduled to go again on Connie this Dec... just hope there aren't bigger issues that we aren't being told about...

We were on this cruise as well. We had a great time and are going again for the 3rd time in December. It has become the highlight of our vacations every year!

It really is a great room. We have done the family promenade on FOS before. It was fantastic! Enjoy your grand kids :D
