  1. Thank you for your review. We will be on the Regal in just over a week for the third time. We just love this ship. I am disappointed about the parmesan basket departure. Of all things for me to focus on, it would be about food ;p.

I was thinking of booking the thermal suite, but based on your review, I think I will pass. What is the point of having the heated loungers if they aren't heated anymore? Now, where to spend that extra 249...

  2. I haven't been on Celebrity in a few years, but I am going on the Equinox in July, so I hope they still have my favorite drink.

    20 Year Martini

    Celebrity Cruises 20th-Anniversary Martini Recipe

    Ingredients:

2 ounces Grey Goose pear vodka

    1 ounce Brut Champagne

    ¾ ounce lime juice

    ¾ ounce Dainzu rose-flavored syrup

    Ginger passion foam

    3 sage leaves

  3. REVOLT....stop drinking !!!

Nah, we'll continue as before and they know it....(personally I'm not a drinker, one beer, but my DW....that's anther story....)

I'm a big drinker on cruises and always get the package, BUT I'll be darned if I will pay anything extra for my drinks after paying that high of a price for the package. I guess I will not drink on my Harmony cruise and only use our diamond vouchers in the evening (assuming they don't take that perk away).

  4. If there's one thing I've learned over the years, it's that one person's perception can be completely different than another's. We love Princess, X, and RCCL. Norwegian? Not so much. But if you ask the next person, they think NCL is the bee's knees. I guess that's why they are all successful.

  5. Sorry, Dawnypoo, you're right. I was a little teeny tiny bit annoyed so cut corners in my post.

They said 'Yes, the boarding times are enforced'.

Further, they said 'Priority only means that in the group scheduled to arrive at 2 you have priority for that group, but you won't be allowed to board earlier than 2 even if you have priority (either Suite or Elite--we have both).

IE. No, there really isn't 'Priority' boarding anymore.

I'm sure glad the CC posters generally know more than the Princess call center staff... ;) Or I'll hope that the rules don't apply as pablo222 suggests...

    Hope you're all correct.

You were told total nonsense. I'll bet a box of donuts you will be one of the first to board. No worries. :D

  6. Just got off the phone with Princess folks to ask if our suite status trumps the late boarding time (M deck 2 PM on Regal Princess next week out of FLL) and they said yes, you will have to wait if you show up early. This is crazy in my opinion.

Does anyone have recent information on FLL Princess boarding that confirms or refutes this? Clearly from these boards they weren't being draconian about their 'progressive boarding'.

We've cruised on a lot of lines and have never had the staggered boarding times enforced for 'top loyalty level' or suite passengers so this doesn't seem like a good start to what we hope/expect will be a great cruise.

I don't understand your post. You state that yes, according to the person you spoke to on the phone, your suite status trumps the assigned late boarding time. All is good, right?

  7. All I need to say is I helped close down the Champagne Bar (1 am).

I can't even start to think what might have been consumed. Know the since 10:30 pm it had been a minimum of 4 drinks.

If you are looking for a quiet location with very friendly staff, visit them on deck 5. This has been my go to location this cruise. I can not give more compliments to the staff.

I cannot agree more with this. I'm pretty sure I had my own dedicated bar stool there during our Halloween cruise. The staff is top-notch!

  8. I am wondering about your time listed from MCO to the port.. It should only be a 45 minute drive using the Beeline Expressway (route 528). If you use 520, that avoids the tolls, but is about 20 minutes longer but uses more gas (probably the same amount of gas as the toll costs.

But you list a 3 1/2 drive. It is certainly not that far.

But the best idea if you travel to Florida is to purchase a sunpass in walgreens and put that in your rental. I always do that and it gives you a discount on the tolls.

You must be thinking of Port Canaveral. The Oasis is in Port Everglades until November, so it is that long of a drive.

  9. Last night at dinner denied a cappuccino by server and asked to pay to upgrade to deluxe by Matra'd. This am was able to get iced chai and macciato at coffee stand on deck 6 no problem. I'm bringing the upgrade notice to dinner tonight.

Jeez you would expect the maitre d to at least know the changes. Isn't he considered a boss?

  10. Get your cowboy boots shined and ready to eat everything fried.

Lol, just kidding. It mostly depends on how many people are actually part of the theme cruise. Google "theme cruise finder" and look for your sailing to find the real impact.

I'm not sure if it me and my lack of coffee, or what, but I can't find a way to check a particular sailing on that website.

  11. It's a rare gem that complains about a cruise before it even happens. Why don't you save your judgements for after completion of your cruise. I would be interested in reading your thoughts AFTERWARD. Relax, enjoy yourself and don't get so hung up on the extras that are not required, nor are they essential for enjoyment.
