Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Take the skytrain to the airport. Super easy and convenient.
  2. Was this the best cruise I’ve been on, no. Did I enjoy it, absolutely. No only do I have a cruise booked for next year out of Vancouver but I also put a deposit down for another cruise. Definitely will continue to cruise with HAL
  3. Has there been bad lineups at the MDR, yes. But was the cruise still enjoyable, absolutely. I always found a nice quiet place to relax. Hopefully they get the staffing issues figured out but you can and will still enjoy the cruise if you want to enjoy it. Many people enjoy complaining and always focus on the negative.
  4. A 90 minute wait just to get to the podium. Wow I never saw the lineup that long. It took maybe 15 minutes to get to the podium to ask for a table for me the entire cruise.
  5. The embarkation in Vancouver was terrible. But we only waited like 1.5 hours and we were on the boat. Which is surprising to say I was happy with 1.5 hours considering embarkation at other cities is a breeze. Line at the MDR has been terrible and the worst I’ve ever seen. On the 2 cruises I took last year on the koningsdam they were nothing compared to the cruise. Waiting 30-45 minutes to get a table at the MDR is horrible and unacceptable. Next cruise will definitely ask for assigned dining. The wait for food at the MDR has been longer then I’d like but not terrible. This cruise is sold out so this should be the worst you’ll ever experience. But still not what I’m used to compared to my other HAL cruises. Im still enjoying this cruise and having a good time. I’m finding there are a lot of rude passengers. Maybe that comes with this being a short 5 day cruise and one of the first cruises out of Vancouver where a Covid test isn’t needed.
  6. I went onto the Carnival Corporation website and it says it’s been extended.
  7. My original cruise planned for this spring was cancelled because of the schedule change when the drydock was scheduled.
  8. What’s the goal with any new cruise ships? Are they going to keep building larger cruise ships or will they build some around the S class size?
  9. Meant to say "short cruise".
  10. I will have to look into a travel agent. The cabin doesn’t matter to me. The cruise I’m looking into is a shop cruise out of Vancouver which is close to where I live so transportation is easy to get there. Just wanting a good deal, I’m willing to book last minute if it’s cheaper.
  11. Is there any websites or apps that monitor the cost of cruises. There is a 4 day cruise onboard the volendam on May 6, 2023 that i am interested in. But hoping the cost comes down on it before I book. I have been monitoring the price but instead of checking the website every day I would rather have a alert set up for it. I contacted my PCC and the price he gave me wasn't any better then the website.
  12. I purchased shares this year. I own 100 shares, so enough to get the OBC. I used it this year and will be using it again next year. I hope to cruise enough to pay for the share through OBC
  13. I’ve been looking at the pacific cruises. I have 1 booked for 2023 and am interested in one for 2024. I like the 4 or 5 day spring cruises. It’s a nice little getaway that is out of Vancouver as it’s very close to home.
