  1. We (my wife and I) are like you (Platinum) and are going to be on Elation (our very 1st cruise on her in January Wahoooooo !) and were wondering if the FTTF was back in effect for our group ? Looking forwards to what you find out. But, after ALL is said and done, it is still a CRUISE !!! :)) Mac
  2. IF and I say 'IF' it's due to an angry argument caused by alcohol which fueled her actions with SO or family member then Carnival SHOULD ban her from cruising forever and if there's an cruise line inter-net listing (which there probably isn't, but should be) her name should be added. Because if there's a 'next' time this industry may not be so lucky. Of course all of this is just IMPO Heck, even IF CCL did all the above, she's hire some slimey' so and so to represent her and they'd threaten to sue and after all was said and done, all she'd just getting is a $50 fine, and they'd sell her another 'Cheers' package 😞 Mac
  3. I thought that's the situation because there was a sushi walk up counter (across from the layer cake counter beside the Ledo deck buffet) on the Miracle. Funny thing is, they never seemed to be very busy (IMO). We (there were three adults) were always sitting across from the stand in that area during either lunch or dinner seven of the 10 day cruise. Poor guy was so bored, he finally starting reading a newspaper.. Several of his shipmate would occasionally walk by and stop and make small talk. But at least the food item's there for those who wanna grab and dash sushi on the run. Mac
  4. We (me and my wife) will be on this ship in January for the 1st time ! 🙂 The only thing I wish was that there were a steakhouse and an Italian dining venue available. Still can't believe folks would rather eat sushi INSTEAD of some great Italian food OR spending $80 for the Chef's Table ? NOT that there's absolutely anything wrong with those dining choices I just never could develop a taste for Sushi (except the veggie type) and as good as the Chef's Table may be $80 per person is a little stiff in the old wallet. But that means we won't have to pack any 'business casual' clothing for the specialty dining venues. We both are so excited to see the Elation before she eventually sails into history and becomes a personal fond memory for us both. Mac
  5. Truth be told, and (IMPO) here, I bet they just didn't get enough request for it BECAUSE no one knew it was available. I know I didn't and have been on 20+ CCL cruises, until I read about it here last year. If it were placed as a regular breakfast (?)/ lunch item I'd bet it would go over BIG, but again, I guess that opinion is moot, sad to say. :((. But sounds delish to me. Mac
  6. Ohhhh, shame on YOU !! Now you've got me dreamin' of their egg burrito and I'll have to wait till our cruise in January before I can git one 😞 Mac
  7. Most ALL of the 3 and 4 layer cakes served in the Ledo lunch buffe, I LOVE the peanut butter layer cake w/chocolate frosting ( it's my fav) I WILL try the confetti cake (see the topic ' Hours of the Buffet cakes in the Ledo marketplace) and check out some great pics. We love EVERYTHING at Guy's. Mac
  8. OMGoodness !! On a cruise on the Dream, several years ago, we were walking down to breakfast and I saw the Blue Iguana ( it was at the entrance to the Ledo deck) stopped and really checked out the foods listed for breakfast. I OVE a good egg burrito, but for some reason had never tried one there, so I thought, 'What the heck, I'll get one loaded to go with my breakfast instead of a omlette,' Ha ! Ha ! By the time I finished that monster burrito I was lucky to eat a couple bites of grits and was still full four hours later when everybody else was talking about Guy's for lunch. NEVER made that mistake again about underestimating BI's servings portion. What delicious burrito, took up half a plate. Mac ( BI surely could teach lot of fast food places around here how to make a good breakfast burrito.(IMHO)
  9. I made a mistake here soooo sorry. It was NOT the Mardi gras cruise where I saw the Chocolate-Honeycomb cake . It was our last cruise (10 Alaskan cruise out if SFO on the Miracle) last August Once again, so sorry. Mac
  10. It wasn't a dream (if so, then we both had it) because I saw it on the MG cruise I mentioned above. But I didn't try it (guess I made a boo boo, huh) When I read the small sign that said 'Chocolate honeycomb' my teeth started to melt, I thought, 'Noo No, Chocolate AND Honey ? wayyyyyyyyyy to rich for meee' and I skipped it, sorry now. I usually, at least, will take a thin slice, just to try it. IF, I ever see it again that's what I'll do. Mac
  11. The wife and I were on the MG 9-11 till 9-20 for an 7 seven day E. Carribean cruise and the 'rock star' desert was ,of course, gelato. We were in the Marketplace buffet for lunch the 1st full sail day and people was acting crazy. There were a dozen people waiting in line at the desert table for nothing BUT gelato. One person upon receiving his cup with one scoop of it all but gobbled it down and while still in line begged for another scoop. I thought, Wow, it's good ( I had never had it till I tried it earlier, becuse everybody made such a fuss over it). You right about the cakes, while they were good not quite as good as the 5 cake station some of the other Carnival ships have. Seemed to me they have the cakes, as a whole, are just standard while gelato's the BIG star. (IMO) Mac
  12. My wife was able to download pics of all these pics of the cakes on lunch buffet on our Glory 2019 Xmas cruise.Enjoy the pics we sure did enjoy the cake Mac
  13. I'll try. The wife and I did a Xmas cruise on the Glory in 2019 and she got some amazing cake pictures in the lunch buffet but she's not sure if she knows how to download then from her cell phone to the desktop computer (the one I'm on now) but she said she'd try. The young 20's-ish girls cutting the cakes were SO proud of those cakes, they'd pose while cutting them, with the BIGGEST smile. Mac
  14. Well, cruise (no pun intended) by the Marketplace deck cake buffet at about or about 11:45-12:00 and see if any of the cake(s) might interest you, if you're not sure just ask for a very THIN slice. You can always get a bigger one Mac
  15. Three- January/Jacksonville March/Tampa November / L.Angles Mac.
  16. lido lunch 5 DIFFERENT CAKES/ 3-4 LAYERS each !!! yUMMY !! cAKE FOR LUNCH !!! mAC
  17. LOLLLLL !!! Never been on the Princess line but on our last cruise ( a 10 day Alaskan cruise on CCL Miracle out of SFO ). We (me, my wife and mysis) almost lived on the Lido lunch 5 different cakes, 3 and 4 layer yummy cakes AND at night feasted with soup bowls FULL of their chocolate chip cookies. I usually don't like REAL crispy cookies but their chocolate were excellent and the peanut butter were ohhh so delicious crispy.. We'd sometimes (every other night) take soup bowl full of the chocolate chip to the cabin for a pre breakfast snack the next morning, as sort of a warmer up for the day. Mac.
  18. Wow !!! TWO slices...? That's more chocolate than my mind could comprehend :)). An chocolate and choco-related cakes seem to be the main themed cakes on some days (IMO) But I will still get a very thin slice of them, regardless, because even the cocoa themed cakes are that GOOD. I t's atreat I won't pass up because I know the clock's ticking on their availability. One day on our last cruise on the 10 day Miracle cruise to Alaska they had a delicious pineapple upside down cake ( I got the second cut) when I returned to my table my wife saw it and asked if she could have it Pleaseeeeee. I said sure, and went back and they had already given the last slice from the 1st cake away and were setting up another one on the platter ! But I got a slice of that one for ME. 🙂
  19. Noooooo overwhelming at, I just get a small slice of EVERY cake (one of those BIG dinner platters) and get a small slice of every cake (there were three of us) three forks. On one cruise, I had 12 slices of cake and was walking to our table and as I walked by a line of folks walking into the Lideo area, one passenger said, ' OMG ! I wanna eat lunch with YOU !!' I smiled and told him, "C'mon, as you can see I've got PLENTY !'. Mac
  20. I agree with all who posted here completely ! The cakes are usually the best desserts offered all during the buffet meals. My favorite *IMO) is the peanut butter layer cake w/chocolate frosting. I wish they'd serve three of these cakes during the dinnner hours. The desserts offered then arevery good but cannot match to the layer cakes. I have seen folks lined up at 11:45 a.m., plates in hand, just waiting like hungry tigers circling a wounded prey. Just waiting for the sign. If you haven't had the wonderful pleasure of a great slice of cake (they'll give you as big of slice as you want, too).If you happen to be in the buffet before lunch and see 4 or 5 frosted layer cakes sitting to the left of the buffet. Grab a plate and stand in line ! Believe me, there probably will be a line. Mac
  21. I agree with you. Plus, she's used CCL customer asist before and they are excellent, all times, in the past. tHANK YOU SO MUCH. Mac
  22. Well, that's a relieve, about the 'roof'. I still kinda worry about the misses trying to walk up a steep incline with a walker, maybe if she takes it SLOW ? Thank you, so much for your quick response. Mac
  23. After looking at the picture of the boarding ramp it not only appears to be quite steep BUT also (IMO) looks like, and this may not be the case, but also uncovered? Just curious and was wondering ...? Mac
  24. My wife and I will be on the Elation next January for the first time after 19+ Carnival cruises and three on RCL. While we're both on our 70's and in fairly good health, my wife uses a walker (sometimes) due to weakness in her legs when she walks too long. I kinda hate to hear about the steep boarding ramp so I'll ask Carnival customer service IF we could get a wheelchair for her. I'd hate to see her get half\way up then tumble back down to the bottom. NOT my idea of the best way to start a cruise !! Mac
