  1. We Visited Space Center Houston in January on our way back to IAH from our Galveston cruise. I was disappointed, but it might have been because my space-nerd expectations were set to astronomically high levels. Overall I found it to be expensive and crowded. We spent about three hours exploring and didn’t come close to seeing everything. There is the museum area and then there are tram tours of 1) Rocket Park 2) Astronaut training facility and 3 Historic mission control. The Museum exhibits and activities are set up for the local junior high school tours. We enjoyed the motion simulator rides and the 747/shuttle walk through.
  2. I believe they may have just moved. Their website says, "WE'VE MOVED. We are now at the Hendley Building, 2002 Strand St. Suite 101". The Cruise Stop Yes! Thank you. I think we'll be spending about 4 hours on the Strand in the shops and Cafe's. Jealous! Have a great cruise!
  3. Us Too! We disembark on a January Sunday morning and don't have to be at IAH until 5 PM. There are 2 problems: We have luggage. It's Sunday Morning in January. The first problem may be solved by The Cruise Stop. They will store our luggage for $5 each. Then Sunday; there doesn't seem to be much happening in Galveston before 11 AM. We are Still looking.
  4. We're looking for something to do in Galveston on a January 2025 Sunday morning... It looks like the Batleship Texas won't be an option yet. According to https://battleshiptexas.org/news/faqs/ Tours will hopefully start "late 2025". I hope it will still be in it's current location because it will be interesting to see from pier 28.
  5. Our group of 7 has a late flight outta IAH after disembarkation and we'd rather not spend the entire day sitting at the airport. The Cruise Stop is looking like a good solution to the luggage problem, but the next problem is - What to do in Galveston on an early January Sunday morning in Galveston? Also, The Cruise Stop's website says they've moved to: 2002 Strand St. Suite 101 Galveston Texas 77550 STORE HOURS CRUISE DAYS: 9:00am - 5:00pm NOT CRUISE DAYS: CLOSED
  6. Our Uber driver dropped us off right in front of the pier and the luggage drop off was less that 100 ft away. This was after waiting for 30 minutes for him to have the chance to turn left into the port area. All the while we can see the Regal just out the window. It was torture by traffic jam. Have you already cruised? Was this your experience too?
  7. How difficult is it to get a van to shuttle 7 to Nachi from the cruise port? I only remember seeing taxis.
  8. Yes. They were my photos of Nachi. We were there ~10 AM before most everyone else arrived. There were 8 ships in port that day and it was nice to have the space and peace of the morning. It did fill up by noon. We are going again in December '24, but this time we are bringing grown kids and grandkids. It was a tough decision to choose the calmness of Nachi Cocom over the kid-friendliness of Playa Mia and Chankannab. One daughter-inlaw who has never touched the carribean wants to "swim with the dolphins" - So, that family may go elsewhere and we will loose the non-refundable Nachi reservation deposit.
  9. Yes. I think we were just lucky to connect with someone who could do the reservations. We will be visiting the MDR immediately after boarding to confirm.
  10. Hours and hours on phone calls over the last month and finally today I had the good fortune to talk to someone who could make our family MDR reservations. Today's rep said it "was easy".
  11. We booked the Reserved Class MS because we simply love the balcony, location and the extra space. We've found there isn't that much of a difference in the Traditional vs. Reserve Class MDR. It is nice to arrive whenever and be greeted and seated, but we tend to arrive on time anyway. The 1 extra choice of entree is also nice plus the wait staff in the suite area may be the more experienced onboard. They have always been superb. I am sure the extra tip envelopes are thicker in that section.
  12. Yeah! I think it's not a real policy. Just the call center people trying to get people off of the phones. Bad either way.
  13. Just finished a call into Princess where I was told that first time cruisers cannot make reservations until 60 days before sailing. Yes, everyone is paid in full. Is this a new policy? We are platinium with a reserve class cabin and we are bringing our kids/grandkids with us for their first cruise. They are in standard balconies. All we are tring to do is get a traditional table for us to dine together.
  14. Last year we cruised from Galveston in a Club Class Mini Suite and one of the perks was a bottle of wine in our cabin, but there were no wine glasses to be found. So we used the water glasses for the sail-away. Texas has a silly law forcing you to pay for alcohol in Texas waters. I am wondering if that was the reason wine glasses were not provided? This year we're packing wine glasses in our carry on.
  15. Selecting "Main" just brings up the "No Reservations Necessary" message. If "Specialty" is selected you may choose between restaurants and then add people to the reservation. Thank you to everyone who helped find an answer to this little frustration. The best solution for us is to do what Steelers36 suggested. 🙂
  16. Tradition. We loved the balcony and wanted to be there once again. We enjoyed it so much we're dragging the kids and the #1 Grandkid along. How often do you get the chance to share something as nice as MDR with those you love?
  17. The problem is that the reservations are made on the APP and since we have Reserve Dining the APP sez "You have Reserve, You don't need any stinkin reservations". (I may have mis-quoted). I have called Princess and their representative had no answer.
  18. Durring the restart when the Majestic Princess was only half full, we wrote in French Toast and "Crispy Bacon". It was perfection! So, How do we get half of the passengers to stay home?
  19. Hello Everyone, Maybe this has already been answered in the preceeding 109 pages... We are a family of 7 that wishes to dine together. We have a "Reserve" dining, but kids and grandkids have standard. How do we select a traditional style time together? Thank you,
  20. The Regal Princess is also in Costa Maya on New Years Day. Princess has all the normal excursions listed. This year we're going to the Mayan Chacchoben ruins. Last year we had fun with the ATV excursion. Maya Chen is the only beach club worth your time.. as far as I know.
  21. This is the perfect cabin for perfect conditions. Our sea day between Grand Cayman and Belieze enjoyed calm water and a pleasant following breeze. The oak table and chairs were retired and replaced with the standard aluminium near the end of our cruise.
  22. Wow! We went on the ATV excursion in Costa Maya. There was nothing physically challenging about the ride. We had fun.
  23. Not to be missed. Naathan Phan We just saw him on the Regal Princess. Did an amazing show right through audio-technical difficulties. First a piercing high pitched alarm and then no PA. He joked about doing shakespear in the park and performed so everyone in the theater could hear him. https://www.magicasianman.com/upcoming
