  1. Depending on weather and wind direction, the water can be rough at YC beach. To me, the better beach/ water, are the beaches that surround the lagoon. (Disregard the red circle)
  2. Checking in at 10:00 does not necessarily mean boarding at 10:00. We sailed YC on MERAVIGLIA in January out of Port Canaveral, there were several groups late debarking. This caused boarding to be after noon for YC and non YC. Also, YC embark area, unless they changed, is just an extension of the main boarding area, separated by a low wall.
  3. Looking forward to your review, we embark from Brooklyn in October!!
  4. In 2019, we took Sinfonia on a Mediterranean cruise. Our package included the massage. I was handed the paper underwear, which barely covered anything. Put them on just for the novelty of it. My wife did not put them on, just used her underwear.
  5. Beachfront are the cabanas that face the YC beach, whereas the oceanview cabanas face a rock sea wall. Is it worth the cost, depends on you. There are loungers with umbrellas available for no cost. In 2019, we had a cabana, that included a bottle of champagne and bottles of water, floating mats, and snorkeling gear.
  6. I’m hoping if I order two of the 10 piece, I can use them separately, probably day 3 and day 7.
  7. The buffet has machines that dispense water, tea, lemonade, apple juice that are free. Also an ice cream machine!!
  8. Beamafar, I have been know to tip very generously, especially when I have a few Gols Rush in me!!! LOL
  9. We were on MAS last weekend, 1100 passengers, in order to gather n repeat passengers, they will need a ship that offers more than one or two bars open during the day, more the a few extra dining venues, and venues for kids. There were more children ( teens and younger) on the cruise than I had seen before. Palm beach can only handle small ships, so either Port canaveral or Ft. Lauderdale, competing with larger cruise lines.
  10. Thanks Beamafar, we are in NYC for 3 days prior to boarding, so I’m sure we will have 10 items by the 2nd or 3rd day, we travel carry on only, so would probably need 10 items early and 10 items later. Not sure if it would matter, but we are in YC.
  11. Wife and I are taking an 11 night cruise on MERAVIGLIA later this year. I know MSC offers 10, 20,40 pieces of laundry packages. If I get a 10 piece package and wife gets 10 piece package, does that allow us to have 10 garments cleaned early in the cruise and 10 later in the cruise? Serms like it would but just checking to see if anyone has had experience!! Thanks in advance!!
  12. We sailed Sinfonia in 2019, 12 night Mediterranean cruise. The ship was nice, spent a lot of time in the Irish pub. We were in a “suite” deck 12 forward, had a dining area for suite guests for breakfast and lunch, not sure about dinner, as we asked to be seated in main dining area. Would definitely cruise again on the smaller ships, get to actually meet and talk with other cruisers!
  13. Note to self: Start wearing socks!!
  14. As a side note, IMO, it may be easier to fly into Orlando and shuttle to Port Canaveral than Miami or Ft. Lauderdale. Which to me would be a plus for Seashore.
  15. I’ve never tried to use a copy of a birth certificate, but I do not think they will accept it. You usually need a certified copy or original. You would also have to go through Customs upon disembarkation, and they probably won’t accept the copy. You might try calling the county (health dept?) in which you were born to see if they have a faster process you could receive. You can try calling MSC and ask, good luck on that, or call U.S. Customs and ask. Good Luck!!
  16. Not sure about the regular cabanas, but yacht club have a large sofa looking loungers. I think this photo is a regular cabana. Check YouTube for videos.
  17. I believe the umbrellas are free, never used one though. There are plenty of Youtube videos of Ocean Cay that can give you an idea of the beaches, etc.
  18. Given your needs and limitations, you may want to check into getting a cabana. They offer the best seating options and also shade, as the island has little shade other than umbrellas. I don’t think you can choose the cabana, but the 4 times I’ve been on Ocean Cay, the cabanas are mostly unused. Thus guest services might can get you a convenient location.
  19. I have seen ship supplied Cornhole on some cruise lines, can’t remember which though. Sort of reminds me of the guy asking about taking a grill on some post a long time ago!!
  20. The doors would be metal, not wood. We have had connecting cabins in the past and never heard our neighbors. Maybe they weren’t rowdy or loud people, but never heard them.
